North Korea launches missile that passes over Japan

Probably, yeah. If it looks like it's headed in their direction they aren't going to assume it's a dud or aimed into the ocean, they're going to warn people.

I figured some test missiles would go over Japan from time to time. I wonder what about this one caused the alarm. Though, like others said, we will know in a few minutes if it was aimed at Japan or just verrrrrrrrrrrrry close to it.

edit:

Looks like it passed over, but I understand the alarm.

Relax, it's just more dick waving by Fat Boy Kim.

This isn't something to relax about. With the way their missiles have been missing the targets, even if they intentionally aimed it to pass the country, there's a high chance it could actually hit and kill people.

Sky now reporting this missile flew OVER Japan.

That's highly provocative and an escalation if it flew over Japan. Obviously better than hitting Japan, but worse than previous missiles that landed in the waters West of Japan.

China's going to look even more ridiculous arguing that the sanctions against companies aiding NK are unfair.
