November Wrasslin |OT| Ask Not The Jobber How John Cena Wins

WWE Superstar Roman Reigns has been taking acting classes while he recovers from hernia surgery, and has been working with famed acting coach Howard Fine.

Fine mentioned he was working with Reigns on his Twitter account; he has a working relationship with several WWE names going back a few years. He has also worked with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Diamond Dallas Page, among others.

Now no more of your hating for him after this

There is a red and yellow version, but it's just sold as part of a normal line. The nWo one is exclusive to the special edition of that shitty game. I'm guessing they expect the red and yellow to do a lot better by itself than the nWo version would have.

Ah, ok. I didn't know they already had the red/yellow one around.

Does Hogan want to kill himself? He isn't Lou Thesz or anything. Dude doesn't need to be in the ring whatsoever.

Bruno Sammartino is probably more clear to wrestle than he is, sad to say.

Bruno is definitely in better shape to wrestle. He's in better shape at almost 80 than a good amount of dudes on the WWE roster right now.

That's 2ish years old I think.

Normally I'd be cool with Hogan vs Cena because of the possibility that they'd get themselves suck in the neither-can-go-over infinite loop. But Hogan seems to desperately want to put Cena over in the worst way because he's a big ass fucking mark for Cena (translation - Hogan is a mark for Neo Hogan), so this would more or less just end with Cena sucking the soul out of Hulkamania - which I don't want.

Game recognize game, son.

Alpha dog top guys are marks for other alpha dog top guys. Austin talks about how much work is involved in being the top guy beyond "wrestle good, talk good". They're all going to Respect The Hell out of each other for it.

Hogan, Austin, Rock, Cena.

I dig the LU promos a lot. Even Konnan's. The production definitely adds to them, but even on their own, they're interesting and engaging.

... Wow. What's wrong with you all? WWE Live was actually better than Raw, probably because it was such good fun. It was just such good fun, had a great roster, and was very well-paced at 2 and a half hours, and they started slowly and built up brilliantly. The main event was just perfect, largely thanks to Bray Wyatt (who can do a chokeslam better than Kane) and Dean Ambrose. I'm just... Staggered by the negativity in this thread. It was amazingly good. Such good fun, yes. Fun. Yes. Fun.

There was an annoying crowd. Too many cheered Ziggler and too few cheered Cesaro, and they cheered the Usos over Gold and Stardust (seriously, wat). But I talked to some drunk people, and they were cool!

The following press release has been issued. It should be noted that WGN America has been heavily rumored as a potential new TV home for Impact Wrestling, but this press release makes no mention of TNA.

WGN AMERICA BUILDS ON ORIGINAL PROGRAMMING SLATE; ORDERS FIRST UNSCRIPTED SERIES

“Outlaw Country” from Bischoff Hervey Entertainment (“The Devils Ride”) and “Wrestling with Death” from Leftfield Pictures (“Pawn Stars”), Set to Premiere Early 2015

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 7, 2014 – Building on the bold expansion of its original programming slate, WGN America has ordered to production its first two unscripted series, the docudrama “Outlaw Country,” executive-produced by Bischoff Hervey Entertainment’s Eric Bischoff and Jason Hervey (“The Devils Ride”), and the docuseries “Wrestling with Death,” executive-produced by Leftfield Pictures’ Brent Montgomery and David George (“Pawn Stars”). Kicking off the new year with thirteen weeks of unscripted original programming, “Wrestling with Death” is set to premiere Tuesday, January 13 (10:00 p.m. ET / 9:00 p.m. CT), followed by “Outlaw Country” on Tuesday, February 24 (10:00 p.m. ET/ 9:00 p.m. CT).

Set in the town of Buckner, Missouri, “Outlaw Country” chronicles the perennial battle between law enforcement and crime by following Steve and Mike Cook, brothers who act as Sheriff and head of the Buckner Criminal Task Force, respectively, as they clash with John and Josh Monk, brothers they suspect are responsible for the town’s surge in crime. In this one hour docudrama, producers were given full access to both the police force and the Monk Brothers’ camp, providing an unprecedented look at crime in a small town from both sides of the law. “Outlaw Country” is executive-produced by Eric Bischoff and Jason Hervey for Bischoff Hervey Entertainment (“The Devils Ride,” “Hardcore Pawn: Chicago”), alongside Robert Kaprill and Peter Karlin. WGN America has ordered seven one-hour episodes to premiere Tuesday, February 24, 2015 (10:00 p.m. ET / 9:00 p.m. CT).

Executive producers Leftfield Pictures (“Pawn Stars,” “American Restoration,” “Counting Cars”) presents “Wrestling with Death,” a unique family docuseries that introduces The Lathams of Osceola, Arkansas: morticians by day who run The Wilson Funeral Home, and professional wrestlers by night who run The Mid-Southern Championship Wrestling League. “Wrestling with Death” is executive-produced by Brent Montgomery, David George, Alex Weresow and Jordana Hochman, alongside Bill Katz and Michelle Katz for Espiritus Productions. Bill Duncan and David Duncan serve as consulting producers. Twelve weekly back-to-back half-hour episodes have been ordered to premiere Tuesday, January 13, 2015 (10:00 p.m. ET/ 9:00 p.m. CT).

WGN America launched its strategy of delivering distinctive, original scripted and unscripted content last year. “Outlaw Country” and “Wrestling with Death” join a growing stable of destination programming on WGN America, which includes the second season premiere of its hit supernatural series “Salem” in April 2015, along with the second season of its critically acclaimed original drama “Manhattan” and exclusive syndicated series “Person of Interest” and “Elementary,” all scheduled to premiere in 2015. The network also recently announced a straight-to series order for the scripted drama “Outsiders” (formerly “Titans”).

Follow “Outlaw Country” and “Wrestling with Death” on Twitter @OutlawWGNA and @WrestlingWGNA. “Like” the series on Facebook at Facebook.com/WrestlingWithDeathWGNA and Facebook.com/OutlawCountryWGNA, and join the discussion with #OutlawCountry and #WrestleInPeace.

Now I'm going to flat-out laugh at you.

You didn't think you were being condescending by suggesting the guy who disagreed with you about the Shakespearian sea change that happened over the course of a 15-second vignette on your wrestling program didn't get it?

Seriously? You didn't think you were being condescending?

Laughing at people isn't nice, man. I'm just trying to have a simple conversation about a wrestling promo. I apologize if along the way I said something that you took offense to. You don't have to get so worked up about it. I just disagree with your view of it is all. I think it's a simple story, so I found it odd that someone wouldn't understand it. But, hey, making a big deal out of it is cool too if you want. You just keep doing what you are doing. Everything is good.

"If Konnan is all the NWO has, he can pick up 40 hobos in Van Nuys just like Konnan to pick his oranges." and "Konnan leaving the black and white is no problem, I got a whole line of guys like him just waiting to pick Hollywood's orange groves."

Do WWE ever comp tickets for the UK TV tapings? I know Raw usually sells out but the last Smackdown in Liverpool was half empty I heard. Tempted to go as they're in my home city but would rather not spend money as I have the PCW/ROH weekend later this month. Do they ever do ticket giveaways? Am I best just watching twitter the day of the show? Will probably keep an eye on ebay the day of the show as well in case anyone with good seats can't make it and sells them at a bargain price

Late in this week's episode, we're joined by WWE Superstar Roman Reigns to talk about his recovery, his career, and his future prospects in Undertaking. But before all that, Alex, Jeff, Dan, and Jared talk about Hell in a Cell, Survivor Series, Lucha Underground, and the myriad ways in which wrestling is currently bumming us out.
