I'm watching a Raw from 1993.

The opening is recapping about a royal rumble with 20 men for the title with Vince talking over it.
It has a bunch of big guys in it like Macho Man, Diesel, Perfect, Giant Gonzalez(lol), and so on.
It cuts to the refs having to break up the rumble to seperate the last 2, Rick Martel and Razor Ramon. Now they're going to have a match as the main event for the title, 1 on 1. The whole show is built around this.


....It's for the IC title.
Also, the old Raw opening music was great. Wailing guitars and saxophones.

Christian York did an interview where he talked about pitching the boy band gimmick to WCW in 1999.

It was originally supposed to be called "Fourplay" with himself, Joey Matthews (Joey Mercury), Shane Helms, and Shannon Moore.

Kanyon and Terry Taylor liked the gimmick, but only offered Helms and Moore deals. York revealed the original other two members of the group were supposed to be A.J. Styles and Jason Cross (a guy who floated around southeast indies and TNA during the early days). When Styles and Cross didn't accept WCW's offer quickly enough, they just grabbed a jobber named Evan Karagias and stuck him with them. They renamed the group "3Count".
