Someone posted this in the "ever meet a celebrity" thread in the OT:

Also heard a good story recently where Piper had a signing appearance that the organizers shut down while people were still in line, so he told them to come back to the same spot the next day and finished signing stuff for everyone until he got through everybody.

I went to bed too! Yay!

Let's say if they remade They Live, what current wrestler would you put in Roddy Piper's part and who would be in the cool Keith David part?

Having returned to finish the rest of Raw is Bore...

I had a little marking when Bryan rushed out to try and help Kane. Their odd friendship is endearing.

This, exactly this, I think man tears were beginning to fall as he ran out to try and save Good Guy Glenn.
Raw had some solid matches and an enjoyable finish that unfortunately still leaves things too similar to last week but everything else was standard fare, as either filler or Cena's touch of death.

Couple of really good compilation releases from ROH today;

http://www.rohwrestling.com/product/bryan-danielson-vs-world-2-disc-set

Bryan Danielson has been referred to as the best wrestler in the world throughout his career and never was that more demonstrated than during his tenure in Ring of Honor. From his debut on ROH's very first event in 2002 until he parted ways in 2009, Danielson demonstrated his unique and varied abilities against every man in the ROH locker room and, as you will see in this special 2-Disc DVD release, competitors from around the world!

Whether it be a British grappler the likes of Doug Williams, the Japanese Strong Style of Go Shiozaki, or the hybrid offense of the Russian Alex Koslov, the American Dragon has been tested against the greatest professional wrestlers from around the globe and always proven up to the challenge. This 19 match collections brings to you Bryan's battles over the ROH World Title & NOAH's GHC Jr. Heavyweight Title against warriors like KENTA, SUWA, and Nakajima, his violent rivalry with the monster Morishima, bouts against Marufuji, PAC, and more! Witness Bryan prove he is indeed the best in this collection we could only call "Bryan Danielson vs. The World"!

From the night in 2002 when he made his debut at "Unscripted", the ROH faithful knew there was something special about CM Punk. That night it was just his way with words that won over the Philadelphia crowd but in the coming months, it became evident to the fans there and around the country that Punk could back it up when the bell rang as well. Whether it was slugging it out in the squared circle with his long-time friend Colt Cabana or going toe-to-toe with a hard hitter like BJ Whitmer, Punk was as versatile a wrestler as any who had set foot in the ROH ring, and it was only a matter of time before success came his way.

Through months of bloody battles against Raven that cemented his status as a true warrior in ROH or technical showcases against AJ Styles, CM Punk showed Ring of Honor fans across the globe the skills that would take him to the top of the wrestling world. This 2-Disc, 17 match compilation highlights the beginnings of a career that would cement CM Punk as a true legend in the ROH history books. From Dog Collars to Steel Cages & Pure Wrestling to Tag Team Specialist; welcome to the early years of The Second City Saint...

Definitely interested in that Danielson DVD, some great matches there. I would've liked a few more of his KENTA singles confrontations, but all the awesome Morishima matches are there so that makes up for it. The Punk one looks pretty good too, but I'm all tapped out from iPPVs this month, so I'm going to wait to see if ROH have a new year's sale I can pick these up in.

That should definitely be his finisher.

Yeah, it looks like it has way more impact than the neutralizer. If they really want to show off his strength, he should hit the neutralizer to stun his opponent and set him up for a deadlift German suplex for the pin. There aren't enough suplexes in WWE for my liking, and I always find deadlift variations impressive;

1) Ziggler vs. Cena was good. Sucks that it ended with a Super Cena moment.
2) Cesaro vs. Sheamus was also damn good. I'm officially impressed with Cesaro. Dude is a fucking beast. Him vs. Sheamus could make a good feud.
3) Are they setting up Shield vs. Kane/D.Brine/Ryback? :\

Haven't seen anything like that since Bryan vs. Ziggler near the start of the year.

AJ looks pretty ok in Jeans. You know.

Now that we know Cena and AJ is not an actual thing and just storyline. Now that they're finally stepping away from the "scandal" thing and making it a "normal" thing. I've decided I'm just gonna enjoy looking at AJ in these AJ/Cena/Vickie/Ziggler segments and leave it at that.

Raw last night was actually pretty good.

Yeah had some good segments and matches. Outside of the Khali bullshit I can't think of too much garbage.

All I'm seeing in those pics is a hot girl in tight clothing.

Seriously though, looking at those pics, the reason Cena's kisses seem so awkward is because he seems to be going out of his way to kiss anywhere but on her lips.

I think German Suplexes and its variations are discouraged in WWE to avoid neck injuries. Not saying they are banned moves but you don't see them much there nowadays.

They announced last night that The Rock will be appearing on a random Raw in February on the 18th when Raw returns to Lafayette, LA. I expect he'll win the belt at the Rumble.

Gonna just sit back here and watch WWE book the Shield into a corner.

I'm honestly baffled why they chose this gimmick - it smacks of weeaboo "YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND THE CORE VALUES OF HONOR" and more. I know I've been down on Ambrose but I'm high on Reigns and Rollins. Or is it Black? I can't fucking remember.

The swat gear is a little much too. How did everyone else feel about it? Obviously it's too early to cast a real judgment, but...yknow.

Also I keep thinking about how WWE's insistence on having Punk hold the belt for a long time has been a bad move for both him and storylines. Don't get me wrong - I like a solid champion and LESS belt movements, but it feels stuck in quicksand with Punk. He's not...USING it, if that makes sense.

The biggest problem is that his feuds haven't revolved around too many opponents or it's been a revolving door of just a few of the same guys.

However, my biggest problem is that we all know there's an expiry date on his reign with the Rock and Cena. There's going to be literally no surprise of "OH SHIT DOLPH JUST BEAT PUNK FOR THE TITLE?!". We all know that Punk vs. Cena is going to happen in the next few months and Cena will win so we can have Cena vs. Rock for the championship.

I know that Cena vs Rock is clear as day but wouldn't it make sense for Rock vs Punk since he put the GTS on him at Raw 1000? Rock would probably win there and lose the belt to Cena, yeah?

That requires a level of thinking ahead that the WWE rarely does. If this happens I'll be shocked. NOT THAT I CARE!

The Rock is a big draw for people but personally I wish he'd just go away.

Like Punk, I hate the idea of people coming back and getting title shots/main events right away... but a Rock vs Zack Ryder match wouldn't sell.

I do like Rocky though. He's so damn good in the ring, on the mic, well, with everything pretty much.

I still think they should've booked SS better. Bring back HHH, Brock, and whoever else they can get for those teams.

I do think Rock 'announcing' dates for his wrestling totally sucks the life out of the current title picture, though.

HHH? He's already wasting every last one of Brock Lesnar's remaining dates with a pointless feud nobody wants to see.

It's all good, he's still burying people left and right.
