I do get the impression he probably oftentimes knows more than he's saying but I don't think he particularly wants to just be a spoiler machine.

I don't know, honestly. Even with the smarks, Roman's push has lasted way longer than Luger's did. Luger's push and subsequent de-push all happened in the span of roughly a year.
Lex has a good body and was also already established in WCW before getting the big dog push

I haven't seen his in ring promos, but some of the promos he shoots by himself in his house or whatever can be pretty intense.
"I'll fuckin DIE for this company." And he means it, probably secretly wishes it, too, unless I'm just getting worked.
