Has anyone got their card from TigerDirect? I ordered from there at 9 AM PST and my order is still "In Process."
Talked to their support and apparently sales has no communication with the warehouse so they don't know what's going on, and told I can't cancel cause it still might be shipped.
Meanwhile, NewEgg has had cards throughout the day. Never again....

The evga classified and zotac with the 25% boost will be the highest binned chips with custom PCBs to support more power for overclocking. They will have two 8 pins instead of a 6 and an 8 for power connectors.

Man I wish I had this baby now. I'm pretty impatient for my step up when I haven't even opened my 980 FTW that I bought a few weeks ago. Doesn't seem like I can get my money back so just paying for the difference is probably good enough.
I should have ordered 1 while waiting then SLI them when step up comes. Dumb dumb.

SLI can be frustrating, but beautiful when it works. What is it that you are trying to accomplish by getting a second card?

If you're already in the step-up queue, GO NUTS and open that 980! EVGA don't care!
...unless you want the difference to be even more pronounced when you get the ti. And it's going to be serious, coming from a 580.

Kinda jealous seeing people get their cards in, but I'm gonna stick with my non-Ti 980s until we see what AMD has up its sleeves, not that I have high expectations.

My comp is older but I plan on building a new comp towards the end of this year.
Right now I have a Core i7 920
6 GB DDR3 1600
A single EVGA 660 Ti.
EVGA X58 Motherboard.
At this point is my entire computer a bottleneck and as such would I not really see much of a benefit if I picked one of these cards up?
Or would it still be a decent upgrade? One that I can then transfer over once I build my new comp?
I know I would see some increase in performance, that goes without saying.
What I am really wondering is will my current specs just hold it back so much it is a dumb purchase.

Ok then yeah...SLI makes sense here. What kind of CPU? You should have a decent/nice overclock on your chip otherwise you'll be CPU limited trying to push 2 GPUs.
What about you case? Airflow needs to be as optimal as possible because the top card will get anywhere from 8-10c hotter than the bottom card. If it quickly reaches the temp limit you've set (default at 82c) then both cards will start down clocking relatively quickly.
It's a good idea to test both cards individually in your machine before hooking them up for SLI. That way you can identify if there is an issue before you have everything slotted in the motherboard. The SLI setup is going to be dictated by the card in slot 1. You want to put the worse performing of the two cards here that there's not an issue of the second card not being able to keep up (if you are running an OC on both cards).
Once you're done with all of that THEN you can begin playing

I have an i53570K@4.2, figured I'd try to make it last as long as possible as I'll have to switch out the motherboard too at that point. Pretty spacious case.
You can overclock that CPU and still be in good shape.
CPU should be fine with a healthy OC.
Keep in mind that if you are going with the ACX coolers they will dump heat into the case. The reference coolers dump heat out. This is why you see most SLI setups with that variant of cooler.

How much of an issue will that be? The only reason I ended up getting the ACX version was that I woke up at 5 AM after an hour of sleep to get one and that was the one I saw on newegg in my dream state, lol. Responsible decision making.
If you've got good cable management and good airflow, not too big of an issue. I did it way back with SLI 580s Lightning Xtreme Editions in a Corsair 500r. This was before they implemented the boost feature and all of that. It worked well. I did notice a difference in temps when I switched over to the reference blowers though.

Assuming $650 is what you pay in the USA, you could give someone £50 to post it to you as payment from USA without original box and describe it as faulty / replacement parts etc. with a value of under £20 to get past customs and come out of it £75+
$650 is without tax in the U.S., which varies from location to location. If I were to pop into a local store and buy this, the total would be $702

Thanks Smokey! I was pleasantly surprised when it lit up and matched the h100i, I didn't know it had the illuminated logo when I bought it.Really nice color scheme and the 980Ti logo is a nice tough. Congrats!

Already own a 980 but will upgrade to a Hybrid when they are in stock in the UK, there's noway I'll be happy with the noise output of the TI without it being under water, hopefully the wait won't be too long.
I'm definitely looking at it, but only because I want a all-in-one liquid cooling solution. I'm thinking liquid cooling is simply going to run higher clocks than 3 air fans, but benchmarks first before I buy.

Cool thanks, not to derail the topic too much, and I will do the appropriate research on my own, but just a question on the OC...
It has been a very long time since I OC'd anything. Last time I OC'd was an Athlon 64 FX Newcastle, so I was still using the BIOS to do the OC. I know nowadays it can be done using Software, for my i7 should I be looking at still doing the BIOS or using Software? Just trying to get an idea of what I should research.
I do not do a whole lot of PC gaming anymore as my GPU definitely is struggling with higher framerates and higher settings, and I would like to remedy this if possible until I build my new build. Also truth be told honestly if I pick this card up now, there is a very good chance I would pick up another to SLi once I do build my new comp, so I am looking for any good excuse, I mean reason.

1245mhz (+144mhz boosted from evga stock 1101mhz) core clock speeds seem to be about my max comfort zone before adjusting voltages, etc. I've been running stability tests and tend to get driver crashes while alt tabbing, etc. if I push it higher. I can probably play around with the voltages and power/temp targets, but this is good enough for now.
Fan profile seems to max around 1500rpm and 75/76C temps for me with using the default fan curve. Noise level is pretty respectable. My case fans maxed are much louder than the gpu so I can only hear the gpu noise when I turn everything else down.
Time to test the memory for a little bit.
Google your proc and overclock guides and you'll find plenty to get you started. In my experience, it's better to use the BIOS. I've done with via software before and it changed some things that weren't necessary or put more voltage into the chip than was needed.
For stability, just play Witcher 3. It seems to be more demanding then anything else.

So I caved earlier today and pounced on a reference 980ti when Nvidia had it available. We'll see how much I like it. Also, fuck Nvidia for taking their sweet ass time. I only got my confirmation e-mail like an hour ago and I ordered it at 7am. Looks like it'll ship tomorrow. Sunuva...

I hope my reference cooler SC can get close to this. Man, we are gonna see 1500mhz clocks on the binned chips with voltage tweaking, maybe even higher on water. I supposed this isn't really surprising given the 970s and 980s were hitting 1500 pretty easily, at least on the boost. A 1500 core 1600 boost 980 ti will be so beastly. What are people hitting with their Titan Xs?
My Titan X does 1428 MHz boost with a slight voltage bump and +100 on the core, SC model. Haven't tried to push it further.
I think I've seen some people hit over 1500 with custom BIOS on their Titan X
