You can mix and match cards but SLI will downclocked all cards to match the lowest cards performance.

what kind of frames are you getting at that resolution? I've never seen a quad sli setup. triple, sure. but quad is new to me.

Winning if you can actually get one! With the ease of getting the 680, I am sure most will find the 670 available sometime in July or August.
a 670 would be overkill for D3, was a bit disappointed with the beta graphics but I understand completely why they have the low res textures and low poly models. (Tons of enemies and effects on screen and tons of loot/gear)

It will run D3 better than my pc does now.
But I don't want a GTX 670 just for D3. I mean, I'm still waiting to play The Witcher 2 because I wanna play it at max settings. And there are plenty of other games I can't run as well as I would like atm. A GTX 670 will fix all of that at a price point I can accept

With Tri-SLI on water, I get 33C under full load.
Edit: That's with boost clocks hitting 1252 mhz at 132% power.

It's too bad it seems Nvidia neutered OCing so "extreme cooling" like water cooling doesn't reap the same advantages. Plus, the cards have a pretty good thermal profile from the start (especially compared to Fermi).
At 4800x900/120hz (may be off with that resolution - can't recall it exactly) I get 80-90 fps. Just realized late last night that BF3 is still not defaulting to my native res (5760x1080/120hz) - but it did allow me to change. At that point I didn't get to play very much and I was on a laggy server.
They are already in the wild, tons of places to order / pre-order them from in Europe. America just seem to be hit with the lack-of-stock stick on everything, so could be from now on and until Christmas.

Well, this is interesting. Yesterday, my 4 year old Geforce 8800GS started overheating so I sent EVGA a request for an RMA. God I love lifetime warranties. Anyway, according to people, chances are, they're not gonna fix my card, but rather just give me a new one to replace it. I wonder what I'll get as a replacement? I'm 100000% sure it won't be a 680, but if only it died later, I might have gotten something from the 600 line.

Well, to be fair, most of the water cooling components I had were from a prior build. When I upgraded to Kepler, I just bought a new case, another radiator, 2 reservoirs, the GPUs/waterblocks, and some quick disconnects.
And I hear you on the neutered OC potential. I was a bit disappointed at first, but then I realized that I can play every game maxed, at over 60fps, and that shouldn't change much anytime soon. I think the low noise and low temps were definitely worth the investment, although I don't think you're one to talk when it comes to cost-to-practical-performance ratio.

Don't get your hopes up. I sent in a 8800 GTX and received a 260 GTX in return, this was last summer.
*Free as in they usually charge a little more than most other cards manufacturers
Here's what we just received from NVIDIA. That's right, a crowbar with the inscription 'For use in case of zombies or ...' Now the speculation machine certainly starts working this way ! It seems something is coming alright. It may be indicating an upcoming GTX 660 / 670 or 690 release or heck another unspecified product.

For sure. I'm with you. It's just my attempt at rallying against the misnomer that liquid is required at 3 or more cards. I mean, I've been there - so I can see why some think it's a requirement. I "inherited" 3x MSI Twin Frozr II GTX 570s in tri-SLI...things were the most unreliable POS'...a) the dude had them in this tiny Antec 300 case (!), b) they were sandwiched so the awesome Twin Frozr II system was just dumping hot air all over their brethren...it was nuts. Got rid of a card and went standard SLI and it was a great performer even in that tiny case. Could even OC like a mofo. I swapped out all three cards in every combo and it was never a bad card - just a bad setup.
So on Saturday I was able to get a "pre-order" a EVGA gtx 680 from Amazon. Nothing has shown up for purchase or that they even know when it will be shipped. You can not even pre-order anymore, it's only "Notify me." Does this mean my pre-order is valid? I am sick of searching for this stupid thing to be in stock. I believe that Evga only makes 2 to 3 a day and call it a night.
