I hate this argument when it comes to the subject of video games, and it always gets brought up as some point about how PC is superior to other platforms. Nobody is arguing that PCs can't "do more" then PCs they are arguing that for the price you pay it isn't worth it for some people. Also, some people don't use a computer really in general. I know a ton of people that don't own (or don't use the one they one) a laptop or desktop at all because its 2023 and the majority of things can be done from a phone or tablet.

In my case games are the ONLY reason I own and would ever own a Windows PC. I use a MBP/iPad for my design and computing needs and vastly prefer MacOS over Windows. I don't have a preference over platform as all of them have their positives and negatives. People's choice is people's choice and one choice isn't "more valid" then the rest.

I am basically only talking about gaming, like I do on mine. The price of any console doesn't matter, even for free. I would still play basically everything I can (excluding some extreme shit ports) on a gaming PC. Consoles only for some exclusives as it is the only option.

I don't think that's a fair question. Most people would select a Bentley if it cost the same price as a Honda Accord.

A lot more people would choose an Accord over that Bentley than you think (insurance, fuel economy, etc) much like plenty of people choose console because of ease of use, simplicity, and game choice. Not everybody has the same priorities. Buying the best thing just because you can is fucking retarded.

See you didn't get the entire point because you are so tunnel minded on this. I was giving an example of why want versus need and buying the best isn't always the smartest choice. The example wasn't you but it's plenty of people.

Also some people just prefer console no matter what the cost or performance. Some people don't see value in higher settings or mods or whatever reasons some other people choose PC over console.

Nobody's choice is superior to another if it's the choice that is best for them.

This is really not meant to start system warring but this was so pathetic. It happened during their CES 2023 presentation earlier today.

Remember over two years right when consoles were getting too much buzz for Jensen's liking? He introduced RTX IO which over 2 years later is still MIA. He also showed off some laptops that were more powerful than the consoles but the cheapest one was like $3000.

This year, they were at it again with their Ada-powered laptop. "2x the performance of the Playstation 5". OK, but it's also 4x the price and is coming out 2 years after so I fucking hope it's much more powerful.

This is ironic coming from the company that continuously prices out more and more gamers out of good graphics cards. If they think $2000 laptops will entice people to buy them and move away from consoles, I got bad news for them. If you just want mid-range gaming, consoles are becoming more and more attractive options. Meanwhile in the PC space, the mid-range is as much as $800 and will probably start at $600 for an RTX 4070.

I definitely have a problem with the Nvidia pricing but honestly, I think there should be more digs at console gaming. Just in the name of fun. I miss the Nintendo vs. Sega wars and it always bothered me that Microsoft let Apple run all over them and not fight back. I love consoles but a bit of poking is fun.

Davinci Resolve actually supports Optical Flow on any RTX card. It worked on my RTX 2070 like a charm.
So it's more likely they simply wanted higher sales
