This is a 1080p card, I have no idea why anybody would be trying it at 1440p and all these other weird resolutions with reconstruction.

I bought this card years ago for my nephew. Good card, but in 2023 I would not advice building a PC around a 580. Moreover, unless you already have parts from an older PC build you will still need a few hundreds dollars worth of parts, so not much of better value in the end as it might end up costing more than even XBox Series X to complete the build.

There isn't really such a thing as a 1080p card. Besides aren't a lot of console games rendering at 1080p in performance mode? Doesn't the Series S go below 1080p sometimes?

Why doesn't this person test it against a Xbox Series X as I'm sure the specs of that PC are near the cost of that.

You don't think I have a valid point ? After all it does say "Better value" in the video title.
Considering how low the series s has gone in price there is no way it wouldnt be better value at the outset.

Or at full price imo if you are to stick that gpu with a Zen 3 and 32gb ram.

He uses a worse gpu and ram when he does his dodgy comparisons between PS5/XboxX and PC and uses better against the SS. Shows what a farce the man is.

I aint even gonna give a click.
Can you give me a summary.

Imma guess his PC trumps the Series S?
But realistically it would be impossible to match the Series S anywhere near its price point.
While yes, i am mostly a PC defender, thats only if we are talking about "cheap" PC builds that are in the realm of possibility for someone with a PS5/XSX budget.

I fail to see how the 580 is better value at all. Better value on hardware is not really the main priority for PC gaming.

Its sort of what you would expect really. More powerful gpu with the ability to select your settings. You could say a Xbox One X with a decent cpu.

cool video. i built my rig when the RX580 launched and am still gaming with it today.

i played cyberpunk 2077 when it came out at 1440p with dynamic resolution scaling. its a capable card at 1440p as long as you turn down some settings to medium.

I did a sensible upgrade from an 8gb 570 and I could have just kept playing on that. Otherwise I kinda got it for mechwarrior because I wanted some higher res and draw distance for a simulator like that. The one thing that made an upgrade a great deal was that I was able to hand down the 570 to my desk pc and get the two upgrades in one.

Shows how much AMD and Nvidia are ripping us off. This Gpu which basically is an RX 570 costs as much as my old Rx 570 which i bought more than 5 years ago
