NXGamer : Playstation 5 - Backwards Compatibility Enhanced | Backlog Boosters

I've been meaning to play Jedi: Fallen Order for a while so glad I can now play it at 60fps

Days Gone may get another playthrough as well as I really liked it and think it's a bit underrated.

I'll probably try and beat Sekiro again at some point as well lol

Is Sony afraid to update Bloodborne for PS5 because of it would take attention from Demon's Souls Remake?

Maybe Bluepoint are moving straight onto a Bloodborne remake now that Demon's Souls is done?

Absolutely not. This is the same Sony that announced the first PS5 details on the day Concrete Genie was released. The same Sony that put Ghost of Tsushima out two weeks after The Last of Us.

In the nicest way possible Sony don't give a fuck 😂😉

I am surprised Horizon hasn't has a upgrade with the PC version out now.

All these games that play 60fps unpatched are the first thing that has introduced a modicum of regret that I'm all digital. I'd love to replay the Last Guardian again at 60fps.

So what I'm understanding from the video, even if the PS5 is running in standard PS4 BC mode (1.6Ghz CPU/800Mhz GPU) then we could still see boosts to games due to the architectural improvements of Zen & RDNA at those speeds.

That's honestly more than I expected. I've assumed it would play the same as on PS4 with Sony going for a form of hardware BC.

the last guardian is 60fps? Wow, I had in backlog. Good. It's a pity, Uncharted, TLOU2 and Bloodborne is not getting patches.
Besides NX Gamer think games not patched, CPU and GPU is running to same frequency and CU from the machine is emulating.
Fascinating boosts despite clock speed similarities. Can't quite be explained without speculation. A PS4 game in most cases can run in "boost mode" on Ps4Pro. I assume, but have no idea that the PS5 can at least match that pro clock speeds.

otherwise we are seen zen2 efficiency improvements and innate improvements related to more ram and larger cache. Just really cool to see.

Ok, I'm happy for this, but seriously how does everybody flip the switch from BC doesn't matter to now it's a feature the PS5 is worth buying for now. I don't know how many times I've mentioned this but the first year or year and a half is heavily BC reliant on both sides. This is only good news.

60fps in Sekiro, Ghosts of Tsushima (patched), Days Gone (patched) and TLG (when forced in 1080p mode)

60fps in unpatched/disc Assassin's Creed Unity outside of cutscenes.

Mostly 60fps in Until Dawn, some drops to 50s.

60fps in Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order, but, as it has dynamic resolution scaling, can cause resolution to drop below 1080p.

Incorrect, its 60fps in 1800p mode now.

Edit: You need the disc version and not download patches.

I honestly never thought it was an issue. As long as I can play older titles I'm happy. Any performance benefit is a bonus but not enough to sell a console to me.

How do you guys feel about this ?

They need to release a patch that reimplements the 60fps mode. I have the disc version, but the article says that the first patch also added HDR.

So currently you need to choose between 60fps without any patches or current version with HDR and bug fixes, but a 30fps limit.

Just wait for the remaster a few months before part 2 arrives. ;)

Bin playing the disc version at 1800p 60fps and it's great, but my game freezes at the collapsing walkway section when trico catches me. Anyone got past this point on ps5?

The Last Guardian in my experience can not be finished at 60fps. There's a few instances the game will crash and you can't proceed until you update the game. I think around 3 times in the whole game. Also, there is one puzzle that seems impossible at 60fps as you're not given enough time to complete the puzzle. Updating the game and 30fps helped again.

That being said it was still worth playing at 60fps despite having to mess around to get it finished.
