Just my two cents, but I don't think I'm alone in having a hard time believing this is actually happening. The snowball just keeps rolling down the hill, gaining size and speed, and we keep expecting the sun to come out and slow it down, but it doesn't. If Trump is out and Pence is clear this would could as Pence's first term in office and would only be eligible for re-election once.

You're not. I am fully aboard, but there are plenty of people like my mom. She is not a Trump supporter, but she just can't grasp the possibility that elect officials would do any but for the good of the people. They assume authoritative figures, like a President or Congress, are all good. Doesn't cross her mind that some could enrich themselves or possible betray their own country.
It takes a lot to break up blind trust that has been built up by myth and lies over decades. Every call, I make a little more head way with her.
