Honestly it really doesn't matter if that is true at this point - which is highly dubious anyway. The emails refer to her several times as a Russian government lawyer and explicitly say that the meetings were part of the Russian government's plan to help elect Trump. Even if it was all a lie, Jr's intent is clearly criminal.
