The line of succession is designed for a President's death, not for a situation like this. It makes sense when a President dies for members of his cabinet to be close to the top because they shared the elected man's vision in theory. When the President is impeached for something like this, the line of succession looks like a cruel joke.

Trump absolutely knew about the meeting. This makes it clear, I think.
The fact that he ended up not holding the press conference just aligns with them saying that they didn't get 'anything of value' out of the meeting.

If anything, this is going to look like his flight list that specifically avoids Russia even when he showed up there. At a certain point, it becomes strange that he hasn't talked to someone from Russia.

It's funny because Carson was running as part of the same "Springtime for Hitler" scam as Santorum, Huckabee, and likely Trump.
