Yeah, that's the hilarious part. Not only did he somehow not go tell his dad, he was in the same building as this meeting. No way Trump Sr. didn't know about this shit. No way in hell.
That's also probably the funny thing that could come up during questioning. If Jr. didn't tell his dad the only logical explanation would be to protect him from wrong doing, which means Jr. knew it was wrong.
It's going to be a talking point about collusion being loosely defined and not technically prosecutable.

Don is so eager to please daddy there is no way he thought to himself "ooh I better sit on this news". At the very least he told Donald trump
And more likely Donald knew from manafort etc before this date that he would be lifted by Russia.

They already are, fortunately collusion would usually involve trading of things of value which would fall under conspiracy or any number of campaign finance violations which are crimes. So the changing narrative on the right regarding the legality of collusion means something big must be coming.
