Well, Microsoft not releasing PR for Halo 5 is very telling in itself.

They're usually screaming from the hills with success, so this seems weird - because, Halo 5 was successful....I think.

But otherwise, they are probably saving PR for NPD to detract from a humiliating PS4 Oct win in the face of Halo 5.

That thread will be nuclear if that happens, which seems ever more likely by the day.

I'm honestly surprised we've heard nothing on Halo sales. I expected it to do well and it seems like everyone on my friends list is playing; more so than I've ever seen for a new game launch. Puzzling. I'll be disappointed if it did poorly, as I'm a big fan.

The game didn't sell bad I'm sure. Just probably nothing worth having PR about if it didn't do on par with the previous entries in the series.

Tough to speculate. On Friday we got COD coming out and then on the 17th we got Battlefront and we still have a large pool of people playing Destiny. Did Rainbow 6 get delayed?

My local GS manager said they are expecting around 500 reserves by pre-midnight, with well over 100 people showing up for the Blops 3 midnight launch.

I'm not too interested in Blops 3, but I've been hearing a lot of chatter from my friends, they seem pretty stoked for it.

I have no interest in it at all but the game is definitely going to well.

The last gen version being so bare bones should definitely help people transition to PS4/XB1.

Honestly, last gen version not including the co-op campaign isn't really that big of a deal-breaker than I would of though. It includes both the new revamped Zombies campaign and the multiplayer stuff, that may be enough for a lot of people.

The difference in sales between current gen and last gen versions of Blops 3 should be pretty big this time around. I think the last gen version of Advanced Warfare still performed moderately well last year.

I've never played CoD and I am not going to start but I have definitely seen a more positive response to Blops 3 compared to the last few CoDs.

I've only ever been a fan of good CoD campaigns. I enjoyed CoD 2, MW 1, Blops 1.

I haven't played Blops 2, but if I start hearing Blops 3 campaign is well made/written, I may pick up both Blops 2 & 3 just to play through.

It'd be nice to have to play zombies with friends, as well.

You're likely right on this. I don't know how much the PS4 is going to do in Nov and Dec NPD, but my assumption is that it won't be less than 300k.

Sadly there is no other game in the series with so few days. But well, the most sales should be from preorders and first week anyways.

I knew that before, but it's still pretty funny to see Halo 2-4 and Reach selling practically the same amount of copys in their first month.

Yea I wouldn't read too much into that tweet lol, he's never going to come out and say a game sold poorly let alone one that's the consoles flagship game. UK sales were surprisingly low, I'm curious to see how the game fares in US now.

Yeah, pretty steady, the X360 installed base growth after Halo 3 doesn't changed the picture, franchise hit their maximum potential.

We don't have MS sales expectations on hand but surely anything below 1.5million has to be considered disappointing especially looking at the Halo numbers above.

The install base argument won't fly either seeing as XB1 is doing better than the 360 at the same point in time.

Of course for an exclusive game the sales are fantastic but context is key.

I don't think Halo 5 moved a lot of consoles or sold a lot. I think MS will do a big marketing push this holiday when Forge and BTB launch. Halo 5 marketing hasn't been nearly as aggressive as former halo's, even ODST.

Amazon software sales are very unreliable, you see games like Bloodborne or Bayonetta hang with the big sellers on Amazon even when they don't sell anywhere near them.

Black Ops will still vastly outsell Fallout, FO4 will do better than FO3 of course, but it will be closer to FO3 than Blops imo. Maybe ~2 million (NPD debut month).

Well with no PR, Sony won October. As people have said, MS will be saving their damage control for their NPD PR to ease the flames and add in an extra week or so of Halo stats to help boost the numbers further. And 3rdamention's "PR" might as well be a preview of the real thing.
