I'd take Goldeneye and Tomorrow Never Dies (and the rest) over Casino Royale (and the rest). Craig's last two Bonds have been blah.

Besides, TND had the best Bond villain with the best motivation ever and he had a fucking stealth boat and a German sadomasochist assassin and a giant dude name SHHTAMPAH.

Look at this face. You want to hate this face but you can't hate this face.

This will go down as one of the greatest photos every taken.

Definitely a lot more sold on Roman after last night. After Philly buried the dude he has San Diego to thank for helping him really show the world that he's got a lot to offer.

I still think they could do a heel turn now and really give Roman the juice needed to run it all the way to Mania as a big star but its less urgent now.

Never watched a James Bond movie aside from the first part of one where they're skiing or something.

more of a Golgo 13 guy, myself.

They should have things come full circle and have Roman beat Brock at Mania for the belt.

Seth beats Roman after Ambrose screwjob
Roman feuds and beats Dean
HHH beats Seth to become champion
Brock beats HHH to become champion
Roman beats Cena final two at RR with Roman winning
Roman vs Brock at Mania

That would be your WM match. And everyone would complain.

Stro always said

Brosnan had the worst movies, Dalton was brilliant and would have been the GOAT had the world been ready for the Craig style movies in 1987. But as it is, DC is the best bond. Casino Royale is the GOAT

It's not like Living Daylights is out there, it's a pretty traditional Bond film. More low key than the Moore ones maybe, but it's not Craig style, Dalton is smooth, suave etc as Bond always was in the films. Licence to Kill is, sure, that was an all new Bond.

I think Dalton got hit by studio rights issues that killed a potential third film anyway.

They've been teasing HHH vs Rollins for so long now. Do you think they'll hold it till Mania? I'd say they'd keep it to the Rumble to keep Seth out of the Rumble itself.

Have him lose his rematch at the rumble after he loses to whoever, then he enters the rumble and is dumped out not even final four. Vacation until the Raw after WM.

Love the SFV 6 DLC Character thread, people are calling out other people because they KNOW they're assumptions are better than the others

this thread is straight shooting

Hopefully that's the match so I don't have to see The Rock v. Hunter again. I want Rock and Brock.

You are everything wrong with wrestling fans. Come on man.
It's a match that doesn't need the title.
It's a match that has history to it.
It's a match that can make much sense after the podcast.
Most importantly, it puts money in Vince's pockets.

And damnit, it gives the kid in me closure. I'll never forgive brock for SummerSlam 2002.

It's a match from thirteen years ago. At some point you have to let go.
I didn't listen to whatever podcast you mean but I wouldn't let that dictate my match planning.
I also care -100% if Vince gets money in his pockets.

The sooner they can produce a WM that doesn't rely on guys who are never coming back full time and guys who started after about 2001, the better.

Plus, what the hell. Rock giving Brock the rub back then was actually the right thing to do. He was basically on his way out and Brock was unstoppable. Can't ask for more than that.

Shocking

WWE.com has moved Christian’s superstar profile to the Alumni Section of the website, and has noted the following in his updated bio:

“[Christian] solidified his legacy and left active competition still at the top of his game.”

Christian’s last match was in March 2014, and after suffering several concussions, his in-ring return status remained unknown for quite sometime.

Christian legit said that he was retiring back in dec.

You're never getting a Mania in the next 5 years that's all new talent. They can't even produce good raw ratings, so there's no way that they can carry an entire WM.

WWE didn't build any superstars for what you're taking about.

So they are saying....he has 1 more match left in him?

lol @ the slack jawed fans after the RKO

...why is the entrance ramp just a portal to backstage? Like there's that big Titantron in the middle, but the wrestlers don't appear to come out of anywhere, they just walk through it like its a portal to another dimension

As a lapsed WWE watcher for a number of years, I still keep up to date with the product, largely via podcasts. Decided HIAC was time to test the waters again. I've just got through the second match, and I'm only getting a little frustrated.

The first match wasn't anything to write home about, but at least it was mercifully short. But the Reigns v Wyatt match? Nothing made sense. Unless I missed something from the promo package, what was the story exactly? As far I could tell, it was the basic Wyatt feud - which is to say he cuts the same, faux-cerebral promos, which rarely ever feed into the psychology of his matches. His ring-work is nonsensical, with none of the traps he set up in the HIAC actually having any purpose, other than to clearly set up another convoluted spot for Reigns. It just made him look like a complete idiot, as he stumbled around the ring. Did he use any of the weapons for any sort of symbolic/considered attack of Reigns? No, he just did it because it was that was what was supposed to happen. And that's what has always been my problem with his character. The presentation is really inconsistent.

Even if the contents of his promos did allude to something (and we know they almost always never do), it would rarely be reflected in the matches. He doesn't wrestle like a unique character, but rather a pretty generic big man.

Not that I'm putting the blame squarely on Wyatt, because it was badly-paced all round, and never built towards anything. Unless I'm clearly out of touch, it was probably the most undeserving "this is awesome" chant ever.

It's even a part of kayfabe that Becky only did that to appeal to the main roster WWE Creative and that she got a lot better by being herself. Which is weird because it reinforces the narrative that wrestlers do a lot better when they stop worrying about what the higher-ups want and just start being themselves. Same with Rocky Maivia.

I wonder how long it will take until WWE decides that Wyatt needs to cut a promo that makes any fucking sense. I assume that's the next evolution of his character.

Bringing on Rock/Austin/HBK/whoever does fuck all because it's been done so many times now, people know they're gonna have some five minute spot and then that's it. It barely moves the needle on a rating any more.

For as much as everyone here still jerks it over stuff that happened in 98-99, they forget that all that groundwork was laid in 97 when the ratings were down. Better to experiment and build when there's less eyes on it. Give Roman his run now, and if he can hang, stick with him. If not, you get the belt off him at RR and you're not shitting up a WM title match with a guy that can't hang. Let guys change their shticks and see what happens.

But relying on some old man to come out and work a match so people can go "man, he looks like he's on roids/can't go any more/was better 10+ years ago" is a waste. Doesn't matter who is the old man in question. If you haven't been actively involved in the show for over a decade, fuck off. Not even for a legend segment or whatever, unless you got into the HoF.

The only way I would use the Rock at this point is if you used him for a Roman heel turn. And not in a match. There's ways for Rock to be involved without taking up a spot on the card. Hell, Austin did it weekly in the early aughts.

the first act of his promo last night made a lot of sense, but then it went all experimental and lost me in the 2nd and 3rd act

Seth Rollins was great on commentary last night, really good. That 4-way match was hot as fuck as well. Owens really did a hell of a lot for Roman, specifically. Fantastic end sequence. Crowd was lit up.

Aiii

So not worth it
Becky Lynch is awful and she isn't even as pretty as Eva Marie, how she made it to the main roster before Alexa Bliss is beyond me, too.
