WWECW gets a deservedly bad rep but they had some nice little matches in the early goings, particularly between RVD and Angle. You had the awful Sandman, Kevin Thorn, and Kelly Kelly stuff from day one but yea.

I used to watch matches (or highlights?) online since i didn't have SciFi at the time. Of course, I finally got it right when it dipped to its worst with heel Heyman and such. Gross

RVD era good
Show and Lashley eras borderline unwatchable
Christian era good to great

I'm probably biased calling that great because I love Christian, but yeah anything was preferable to the Show and Lashley eras

I think I ducked out of wrasslin' before the Christian era, have no recollection of it

I was actually in one of those hot WWECW crowd shots, cut to us twice within the same stretch of 15 seconds. I recorded the Raw but didn't record the ECW one because it was a bad show. Of course. I think it was because my uncle is a local TV personality and got us tickets from it, though it might have just been because we were standing and clapping for Matt Hardy

Didn't the RVD "era" of WWECW only last like a month lol. I mean, I guess it was pretty good, but it was so brief that it's hard for me to think a lot of it since there was still a lot of crap mixed in. But yeah, the Show and Lashley run was something else. I'll never forget how they had the same main event like four times (one as a preview of the Royal Rumble ECW main event, the Rumble itself, and then two back-to-back rematches) between Lashley and Test for the title

Just spent 3 hours watching old Japanese Death Match wrestling with my brother. It was an excellent use of 3 hours, so much discussion and discovery.

We are now reading up on FMW history. So good.

Just watched the main matches from the FMW May 5th Shows and some random assortment from odd shows.

Balloon Death Match, Thumbtack Death Match, Landmine Cage Matches. Just mostly FMW and IWA Japan.

Btw an old Bauer and Pollock show from September confirms what I thought. FloSlam intentionally put the entire Evolve catalogue that they have the rights to up for free. Wasn’t a mistake, it’s a giant fuck you to Evolve because as long as FloSlam exists having that shit up for free will make Evolve’s back catalogue essentially worthless.

And it’s not just Evolve. All of Shine and FIP is up for free. Essentially anything from the WWN family is free. So WWN’s entire back catalogue is essentially free as long as Flo Slam exists.

This is so blatantly intentional because the only WWN show still behind the subscription paywall is the WWN vs Progress show and Flo Slam clearly doesn’t have beef with Progress so they didn’t make that free

Joe Lanza on the Voices of Wrestling podcast said he heard 205 Live talent are only getting a flat fee for being in 2K18, instead of getting the check with a cut of the sales

I'm not arguing who deserves what for payouts for the game, but I would ASSUME none of them would get royalties past "You're in the game, here's (x) amount"

Did he say how much everyone else's cut was?

How much could you even cut them all in? 1%? There's too many wrestlers for that to make good business sense I would think.

Wasn't specified. Was discussing things Neville would be (justifiably) unhappy about and pointed out the Mania DVD wasn't the only thing he got stiffed on recently. Also house show payment is surprising
