Titanfall 1 went from being timed xbox exclusive to permanent which was a pretty recent EA/MS alteration to the deal and the Respawn people are not exactly trilled at the news. Vince Zampella is being all pissy about it on twitter.
Pulling publisher bullshit on the studio formed for the expressed reason to avoid publisher bullshit is so EA though. EA is such a heel.

Dolph's livetweets were pretty innocuous, last night, but I think he's just given up. Can't blame him. Dude should honestly just start doing the bare minimum and save up as much as he can to pursue standup comedy when he inevitably gets future endeavored, as it's take a miracle for him to get even a U.S. or IC run, at this point.

Sucks for them I guess. I still haven't had that "oh I get it" moment with Titanfall. I dont see what the big picture / meta game of the game is but I just think its bad form to pull that kind of stuff on those guys.

I wouldn't be surprised if their deal with EA is that they get a cut for every unit sold.
Now TitanFall will sell less copies but EA makes more than they would have had the game gone multi-platform and Respawn gets less.

Honestly? It probably wasn't any points on the sale. It was most likely a larger cut of the Live takings.
EA wasn't on board with XBOX Live until they settled that near the end of the OXBOX's first run when they suddenly got a piece of the action and turned very pro MS.
They're probably salty that Activision stepped in and got a larger chunk of the take when they did the whole certain maps come to 360 first deal with CoD when that game exploded.

But you don't need to be privy to it to connect the dots here.
If Vince didn't know about the deal and it went down, it's not like EA's going to show up at Respawn's doorstep with part of the check.
They're not getting any more money from EA and if they did have a per unit sale cut arrangement (which is customary with prior EA publishing deals) exclusivity will mean they inevitably get less.

Well they kind of completely danced around the subject until today. Respawn people gave winks and hints when ever it was brought up. MS not so much for obvious reasons.
MS is normally better at keeping that stuff quiet until its revealed on another platform. Sony is the one who always does the "launches first on consoles" stuff.

He was injured, but he also took the first 3 months of the year off just because, stayed around for 2 months, took the Summer off, came back for 2 months, and then was gone again. He was gone for about 8 1/2 months of 2000.
