Octodad: Dadliest Catch Launch trailer. Steam, Humble, and GOG on January 30th, 2014

Sorry March is still a ways off, ya'll. We're doing our best to get it out the door ASAP.

We'd been working on the PC release long before we hooked up with Sony, and we promised it to Kickstarter backers first.

Truth is that we're running out of money to pay rent, eat food, and those sorts of things so we wanted to get it out on PC first to give ourselves some cushion to finish the PS4 version.

Hope you enjoyed the trailer!

Do what you need to do man. We're excited for it. I'm buying this day one for PS4 (as my PSN ID would indicate).

appreciate the communication, good luck with your pc sales & look forward to playing the game when it hits ps4!

I love the weird theme song. I hope the entire soundtrack is just as good. I will buy this game day 1 on the PS4.The devs are very friendly on twitter and very interactive. They have favorited and retweeted me several times.

I hope you guys make good money out of PC.

If it helps, I'm looking forward to this more than infamous :)

Sweeeeeet. One of my most anticipated indies hitting the PS4 this year. The March launch goal doesn't surprise me as I remembered that the PC version needed to come out first per Kickstarter promises. March will be loaded with good stuff for the PS4, AAA and Indie alike. It's gonna be awesome.

the demo on ps4 was fun at GS. real curious if there will be competent k+m controls

Keyboard and Mouse were the original control scheme so they're pretty solid. If you prefer a controller we'll be supporting DS3, DS4, and X360 on computer as well.

Also Direct Input and xInput with the ability to remap all your controls however you like.

I was playing a PS4 demo unit at a Nebraska Furniture Mart a couple weeks before launch. There were a lot of people around, but were mostly messing with the Kinect next to me. I'd play for a bit, then let someone else have a shot if there was anyone waiting.

The only reaction I got to any of the pre-launch PS4 demos was a kid yelling "Hey, it's Octodad!" when I started it. :) Yes, I let him play it.

I REALLY wanna help out with a Steam purchase, but I just wanted it on PS4. And things are tight so I can't really double dip, plus I don't want to play it on my laptop.

I wasn't planning on buying this right away but since you put it that way I guess I can move up my purchase plans. :)

Don't feel bad! Whenever you get around to it is fine. We understand the situation of things being financially tight.

Day 1, Tibz. Day 1 PS4 loveliness. Do what you need to do. :)

Awesome.

Are you going to sell it DRM-free + Steam key through Humble by any chance?

Take your time. My money will be waiting for as long as it takes.

Isn't that kinda the point?

It's definitely a big part of the game. Though this time around they do work a bit better. There were some problems in the first Octodad that we didn't intend to be there so things are a bit more smooth this time around.

Still just as jiggly and awkward though! The game is that his body is the puzzle, not that you're saving the world or something traditionally 'epic'.

Anyone else reminded of Chicken Boo?

"You wear a disguise to look like human guys

But you're not a man, you're an octodad!"

I was already humming the themesong when I came upon your post. Can't seem to make a decent rhyme of it, though.

"He's an arthropod I tells ya, a giant arthropod!!"

I'm probably going to end up buying this twice.

I need to make my friend play it for our youtube show... but also I don't want to wait (PS4 capture is easier than hauling my computer over to his house)

Get with Sony and get it up on preorder. I would preorder right now.

Played the demo on PS4 And don't get the hype. The controls sucked and it was a chore to play IMO. Reminded me of noby noby boy with worse controls.

If it wasn't for the bad controls there'd be no game.

Cue people complaining about Surgeon Simulator 2013's controls.

I was already looking forward to the game for a while because of its concept alone, but I was completely sold after playing the demo last year at a Best Buy PS4 kiosk.

Day 1 on PC. Can't waaait!

I absolutely love everything about this game. The trailers, the music, the concept, the demo... it will surely be a hilarious breath of fresh air this year. This and Second Son are the two main reasons I'm hoping to pick up a PS4 within the next few months :D

Holy shit. 1.) I thought this was PS4 exclusive and 2.) Had no idea the dev was a GAFfer

Day 1 on PC and I will click buy extra hard.

Enjoyed this at the Eurogamer Expo. My first experience with a DS4 in fact! The controls are bonkers, but they do make sense and I finished the demo okay. I enjoyed what I played, and there was a crowd of people standing around me laughing their asses off. It's hilariously awkward.

Presumably the controls are possible to master?

I was planning to get it for PS4, but I logged onto Steam to preorder just now (preemptive double-dip) because I want to feed these guys. There's no price yet.
The trailer was the greatest piece of entertainment released last year, period.

Sent you a pm. Can't wait for Octodad on ps4!

March isn't that far, I'm sure it will be worth the wait.
