Yeah that makes it less painful, but then it slowly drops instead so I have to push it up, it’s not easy to find the sweet spot.
I’ve seen that some use an elite strap with battery as a counter weight.

I use standard fine. Those 2 side flappers I turn a bit up, above the ears - a nice tip from some streamer. It seems to hold better higher up at the back of your head, but also be sure to shorten the top strap so it also helps distributing weight.

Interesting that Air Link is Quest 2 only at the moment. There is no reason that the Quest 1 couldn’t handle it. It runs Virtual Desktop just fine.

Yeah this crossed my mind too. Pretty sad when a feature that should have been there from the start get a private business to fill that gap, only to be shut out eventually. Is air link any better?

Besides being baked into the OS it's not known yet, virtual desktop dev is pretty confident that his solution will still be better and he's still evolving it.
I don't like Oculus stealing ideas but shit like this shoulda been built in from the start

funny story:
this gentleman did exactly that back in the days: fucked up Netscape by integrating their own browser late in the game. Same with java with their own borked java leading them to take refuge in the servers rather than desktop.
these led the DOJ to almost break up Microsoft, but hey lobbyists and lawyers... Nowadays Microsoft poses of good samaritan - easy to when all user and government data is in your desktops or servers so you can blame data stealing on small business like Facebork...

I bought this $12 head strap cushion and it works great and makes a huge difference in comfort and stability.
For me the headset tended to bounce around and put a lot of pressure on areas with the generic head strap. This makes is much more comfortable to wear and easier to get a snug fit. Also remember to try adjusting the side plastic braces in tandem with the padding to get a better angle on the fit.

Demeo has potential, hopefully a solo mode. Not my idea of "immersive RPG" at all - I'd rather have more Skyrim - but a boardgame alive with actions by dice and cards can still be pretty charming - I quite enjoyed Table of Tales: The Crooked Crown.
this one is multiplayer, and that's not really my thing, but the rogue-like aspect with probably random maps is a very welcome feature. Hope it gets solo mode so I can control the whole party...

To be fair Facebook as been working on Venues forever and a lot of these other techs. I do agree though focus on the games and not hacking the OS. Oculus is trying the be the iPhone of headset and the others can be for people who like to tinker.

It's strange to me that there are people who would be excited to simply play basically the same game as released in 2005 (only with improved graphics), but are completely disinterested in a completely fresh and novel way to experience the game (i.e. VR)

Haha, I actually played RE4 for the first time on a Wii, and the Wiimote aiming controls really were pretty good! I didn't get the Wii until around 2016/7 (was out of gaming as a hobby for a umber of years), but I already feel quite nostalgic for the title. With everything that's happened since then, 2016 seems like a very long time ago.
I hope they don't cut any content. Oculus games tend to be on the short side, so it would be nice to be able to play a meaty, single player game.

I don't like the whole compulsory Facebook account thing either, but I was able to register just fine with my bare-bones account (not a real name, no friends, just used for logging on to websites which ask for a Facebook login). I did almost accidentally reactivate the real account I nuked around 8 years back - that was a scary moment, but I managed to stop it before it went further.
Can anyone tell me whether a third person RE4 would have been a viable option, or does that perspective just not work for VR games?

Yes on the face cover. I got a cheap silicon cover for 8 dollars off Amazon. It keeps it cool and makes it easy to clean before passing it over to a friend after an intense session. I couldn’t imagine the difference and expensive upgrade makes.

I stopped playing flat games altogether after I saw old games like Skyrim, Borderlands and others being easier to run in VR.
I'm expecting to play most old stuff in VR now and only play current games years on when they get a VR port. It's working fine to me, I still didn't finish those big OW...

I loved Oblivion on the OG Xbox, but could ever get into Skyrim for some strange reason (dropped it after 2 hours). Maybe I should give it another go, but in VR this time (once I can finally build a new PC)

Picked up a quest 2 yesterday, used a CV1 for a long time but it was time to finally improve the God awful screen door.
So far really impressed, picked up a Halo style strap too since I hadn't tried vr with that style and it really improves your ability to stay in VR.
Also spent the last hour in work using IMMERSED which I found pretty usable for coding, keyboard setup was a little wacky but I could really see the future of computing working this way.
To say the Quest has progressed a long way from the CV1 is an understatement, it's no wonder that it has sold so well, its easy to use and has a lot of cool ways to apply it to what you want to do in VR

I think the Quest 2 is the baseline for their generations going forward. Quest 1 was more a proof of concept in my eyes.
