Oculus Quest

A few days ago weapon aiming was finally fixed in Silent Hill 2 thanks to one of the devs at Bloober who added some configs to the 1.0.4 update, which made it more compatible with UEVR. I finally was able to play it in first-person view with motion controlled aiming. The game is a joy to play this way.

looks amazing... but SH2 is far beyond my VR limits for horror

It's not really a scary game, though. Nothing jumps at you screaming without warning.
startling someone is not the only form of scaring, or even among the worst forms

Walking through Silent Hill's world of absolute dread with your speaker going on increasingly loud static to anticipate what horrible form is coming around hte next corner is the horror of this series. Anticipation is horror.

Hmm I can't relate to that. It's just sound/music someone engineered to be dissonant/grating, etc.

Just bought the Quest 3. The audio (both the speakers and the awkwardly located headphone jack) is extremely mediocre and also, this is quite possibly the most uncomfortable VR headset I've ever tried. Despite those two things however, it's probably the best headset I've used as I loved the Rift S and this is just a mega improved version of that headset. I was worried about the visuals because it doesn't have displayport but trying out a few high end games to compare it to the Reverb G2, it basically is a toss up while having way better controllers, tracking, interface, etc.

Slightly annoyed that my $500 purchase turned into an almost $700 one because I felt like I had to buy a new head pad to make the horrible headstraps not dig into my skull, buy both Quest Game Optimizer and Virtual Desktop and buy the official $80 link cable which bafflingly isn't included with the headset purchase unlike literally every other VR headset.

But playing Batman last night made all my gripes go away. The game looks amazing and feels incredible to play and actually feels like a system seller. If Quest 3 had the Reverb G2/Valve Index audio, it would be the GOAT VR headset.

That link cable is ridiculously overpriced.
Even has a separate port so you can charge it while linked to a PC. I was actually ok with the default strap but I bought my current one mostly because I wanted the battery and refuse to use a battery pack that I have to strap somewhere else on my body with wires.

^ Ghost Town looks amazing, great to finally see the trailer. As I said before, that developer did an excellent job with The Room VR, really understands the medium and has extremely high production values.

Wow, lots of quality VR coming, seems like a good moment for the medium -- Metro, Triangle Strategy, Human Fall Flat...

except that ambulance game, lol, what the hell was that jank

I've only put about two hours into the game in flat mode so far - largely because I've been playing Arkham Shadow and other VR stuff, so this mod is really interesting to me. If they can get all the kinks worked out, it'd be great to play the game for the first time in VR instead.

Man. Waiting on playing a game for a few weeks or months after it releases really does seem to be the way to go these days...

How about waiting for years? I think I'll be able to finally play Resident Evil Village and RE4 Remake for the first time in 2026 or something. :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Not sure if this was posted but it looks pretty fun. Developer mentioned the standalone version isn't any different from PCVR other than resolution.

Edit, yes it was posted.

Is this your channel?

I bought this and I like the concept but for some reason it hasn't kept my attention, I cant put my finger on why. I also haven't played any multiplayer.

I guess Batman is more interesting to me atm, also Metro has my attention. I need to finish Asgards Wrath 2, after seeing Romulus Romulus enthusiasm for it has made me want to get back into it.

I think the coop is the big draw.

Curious how far you made it Asgards Wrath 2. Have you unlocked the 2nd playable character?

I do not think so.

I have unlocked the cat mount and and If I remember correctly I am on a quest to get a ring to help me fight some dude in the temple of Osiris. I think I couldn't figure out what to do and haven't played since.

Oh wow. Yeah that's essentially the tutorial. It really opens up after the second character unlock.

Nice, bought it on Meta and its cross buy so I can switch between versions at will.
Meta really dropped the ball on the crossbuy stuff. Could have been a player in PCVR but it's available for so few titles that Steam ate their lunch.

Looks like you really push Metro VR on Quest 3 QGO. It'll do 160% resolution at the same fps or 90fps at 137% resolution. Everything is ASW but apparently the implementation is solid.
