Thats the thing about woke politics, they have to be in a racist/sexist/what-have-you headspace to detect all the micro-aggressions and "dog-whistles" they cry foul over. Why do I have the feeling that the person behind that post is some teenage/young adult white guy/girl who is so far removed from WW2 and the atrocities that they are simply looking for victim points?

I could feel for the person if they were in their 50s and had far more of a relation to the war, but nah. I highly doubt it.

I actually disagree with you there, hari. You can make a case that Western culture is the least racist and I would agree with you, but saying it about white people as a group is still applying a group-level observation to the individuals that constitute the group. It's just in the opposite direction.

Did you see the titles of some of those YouTube videos? They were directly targeting the worst kind of people and making a very loud and very gross statement.

He's not talking about Rockstar, he's talking about the specific motivations of the people creating the Youtube content.

As for why Rockstar games are always in the news for this sort of stuff, they're basically the only developers that specifically allows the end user to create this content. I can't think of any other developer that provides the player with the same amount of player freedom to be a legitimate reprehensible dickbag.

From what I understand, the issue isn't that they killed a female npc, the issue is who recorded it and how they broadcasted it to the world, catering to a certain group.

Framing it as killing or beating a women to own the libs like the recent YouTuber is a bit different then just taking down NPCs

Just wanted to pop in and say I don't agree with the stance the Mod Team took on the Overwatch thread at all. I am saying this now in advance because I don't want that thread to be thrown at me in the future next time I come in and defend Era on something.


That entire thread is a bag of cats which is why I stayed out of it entirely. Overwatch is one of the most diverse games there is in terms of global representation and complaining that it isn't diverse enough is self defeating. If we (Liberals and Progressives) complain that games are not diverse and then when Devs decide to incorporate diversity and then we continue to complain except now its because the game isn't diverse enough we are going to look like fools. If the people in the gaming industry think that its not going to help then they aren't going to even bother. We are quite literally beating ourselves to death when we take such stances. We lose allies. We lose support. We alienate the very people who are wanting to help us.

So many people I know, including a couple of mine, banned for calling out people taking speeches of the 60's out of context, supporting government destruction of the community (you can show them unclassified documents of what they pulled in the communities in the 70's and 80's and they'll call it fake if it's against a subject they support), using odd terms to try to equalize everyone else, supporting looney journalists and fake historians trying to revise history to make things more "fair" for other minorities, telling Blacks what they should do like they know how to fix the issues in the community, downplaying slavery as a joke but immediately banning anyone talking about the holocaust, heck they'll ban you if you bring up the crime bill or the super predator nonsense because it's "a smear campaign" ok, sure.

It's one of the most racist forums I've ever seen, and eveyones so clueless they don't even know their racist. Especially in off-topic.

What's supposed to happen? In my time there I do not remember any difficult situation when it comes to criticising Nintendo overall. Maybe being a Nintendo fan and having a Yoshi avatar & name helped, but I've been complaining a lot about Nintendo's lack of new games for quite a while, consistently, and I have never gotten any mod action in that regard, nor any mass attack one could expect if one said things that were regarded as dismissive towards, e.g. representation issues.

Take a look at IntelliHeath, I don't care about him, but I've looked it up and he seems to not only partecipates in Smash discussion. I normally don't want to believe this, but I found out that he occasionally swears.

Then take a look at these verified developers like a Skyrim developer. They're so annoying. They seems to be 'proud' and boasting.

Next, let's take a look at Andre on Resetera. I don't like his involvement with Resetera - he's associated with Gamexplain. Shouldn't Gamexplain realize how toxic the site is? If so, then why is he even on forums? He needs to get out of the forum ASAP.

Finally let's look at the most popular users like Serebii. In this case, I absolutely hate his involvement with Resetera. Seemed like a famous, a great webmaster of the site, but I was astounded when I saw that he was on forums too. I really hate him and his involvement with the forums right now, he deceived me by making me think good about him. If he'd realized that soon, I could forgive him, but not now.

That site's really shit with the number of toxic peoples there, but when you consider that these peoples are on Resetera, the site is really disastrous.
