Officer Chun-Li costume spotted in latest SFV beta, also some other lame costumes

Almost everyone gets new costumes I like except for the character I want to main (Karin, at least her default is the best). I must say that I never really cared for Chun-Li but the cop costume makes me want to try her. As for Laura, I like for this type of games to always have a balance between sexy and cool outfits for all characters, so as long as she gets some cool costumes I don't see a problem. That being said I actually prefer the new Laura costume more than her default since this costume is obviously fanservice while her default seems to be a combination of sexy (her top) and cool (her pants) but the pants ruins it for me because they are also a thong on the back (are there actual pants like that for sale that aren't meant for strippers?).

Capcom must be doing it on purpose at this point. At least it gets people talking about their game.

Who's ready for sexy FANG?

Like...i don't even care about the costumes to be honest, i just don't understand Capcom's lack of consistency.

"Oh we dont want to do anything OFFENSIVE AND TOO SEXY"

And yet we have all these barely showing outfits. Like pick a damn viewpoint instead of contradicting yourself at every turn

Yeah I agree. I think it's just because the butt slap was in the trailer and everybody was making gifs of it as opposed to alt costumes which people have to pay for and only the people playing the game will even know exist. It doesn't look good on their part.

I want Ken shirtless with his hair loose and basketball shorts for the summer dlc outfit I'll be there day one do it capcom. Fabolous Ken needs to be a thing we already got hot ryu where's the love for my boy Ken?

And? DOA has some "hot" costumes for the dudes too.

Where's the "outrage" for the male side ?

DOA started with the massive bouncing breasts and blatant fanservice camera angles and outfits, and SFV is indeed moving in that direction. It's not that Chun and Cammy weren't sexy before, but the focus on their anatomy, along with Laura and Mika are nothing like SF2 where close ups or character intros couldn't even be a thing. I'm old enough to remember the rest of the FGC looking down on these things when DOA did them, but now it's what most people want, apparently.

The only difference is in the camera angles. The costumes are no different. They're how they've always been designed. For example, some have complained about how Cammy's new outfit is particularly skintight. But this is her art for SSF2

It was always intended to be similar to where it's at in SFV. The tech is better so costumes obviously look more detailed. But the intent of them hasn't changed.

You're confusing what ought to be with what is. in SF2 -> SF3 (and 4 to a lesser extent) none of this was nearly as pronounced due to technology. I am going to just say the word that comes to mind. Laura's costume looks fucking trashy and i LIKE her default outfit. She's exactly the type of girl i make effort to NOT look at in public. And i'm not a man, so this isn't some sex thing, it's just an offense to good taste. I don't even think it looks sexy.

If you don't like her outfit, then that's fine. All i'm saying is that this is what SF is has always been. And in the case of Laura specifically, her outfit isn't even as revealing as some other characters in the series. Is Laura's outift a big deal because it's it's more "realistic" than goofy like Mika's or Cammy's?

I don't see how else i should read you sayingIi'm being a drama queen by saying an outfit is trashy.

I didn't call anyone to action. I didn't demand we do ANYTHING. I just said "this outfit is really trashy" and, according to you, such a thing is being a "drama queen".

Why? I can only assume you don't feel it's bad. ie: your taste is such. So why, if we voice our taste, which is different than yours, does it make anyone a "drama queen" if not simply because you dislike that our taste is different?

You're the one calling people names because they think differently than you, not me.

Drama queen.

Ah, ok the "everyone's taste SHOULD line up with my own because i said so and to be anything otherwise is unreasonable" argument. Got ya.

Who would pay for something that literally has ZERO design to it? There is NOTHING to this costume at all.
It's a cool costume in the same way a gi is. It's fun to see a charcter in traditional/real world clothing for the style. I'd buy it, I'm expecting it tbh. No different than something like Sakura's PE outfit, Guiles dress suit or Abel's unitard.

I would say yes, because in those two examples at least some artist tried to design something unique. Thank you for keeping this about the costume, btw.

Drama queen.

Can't attack the idea, attack the person...

How is an outfit that is essentially a tanktop and shorts cool?
Like, the most boring choice possible

It doesn't have to be super different to be cool. And her current alt isn't really different at all.

If we're talking about very different costumes, I'd like some typical clothing from Brazil that has nothing to do with carnival, something like a Carimbó dress would be pretty cool, with the clothing physics of SF V.

The "hot" costumes are...Chun and Ryu?

When has DoA ever advertised their "hot" dudes? Put them on covers of games? Run with the fanbase who called them "hot" in the first place?

We're at a point where Cammy's default is not the most fanservice-ish outfit, aren't we? And camera angles / poses are pretty important in what makes something sexy.

Where's the "outrage" for the male side ?
I can answer this in two ways:

1- There's one "hot" male outfit in SFV. One. And it's a shirtless outfit (a shirtless fighter? this is clearly as over the top as Laura and Mika! :p). No suggestive camera angles, no suggestive poses - just shirtless Ryu which isn't even a new thing. And then there's Mika, Hot Chun, Hot Laura, and Cammy.

2- What outrage? Who is outraged at Laura's outfit? Am I outraged? Is any criticism automatically outrage? Because when I say Birdie looks bad, I'm never told I'm outraged.

The "hot" costumes are...Chun and Ryu?

When has DoA ever advertised their "hot" dudes? Put them on covers of games? Run with the fanbase who called them "hot" in the first place?
Why is this any relevant to my point? Legit question. I feel like I'm not seeing yours. My point being, Street Fighter is getting more fanservice-ish.

I'm loving pretty much all of the alt's. That's one thing I'm really hoping for is that SFV has a ton of different costumes for the cast. I'm a sucker and I'll buy all of them lol

See, now that is actually interesting.

All of these costumes are super lame and even downright lazy. Rashid's costume is literally pants and a shirt.

You're the one that wanted KoF outfits.

I kid, I kid...kind of.

Personally love casual outfits. I would like something similar for everybody. Ibuki's top and jeans is probably my favorite costume in SF4.

They really need to look at League of Legends for the kinds of costumes that make players excited and interested in getting them.

I think he'll look hot enough to excuse the lazyness, though.

DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I really want to go to a tournament just to scream that when the time comes.

When Birdie got announced, I expected Shredded Birdie, not 10 years of pizza and mountain dew Birdie

OH wow, so alts aren't even included for the existing cast? Man...

I'm assuming we'll be paying for at least 2 alts per character.
Doesn't SF4 have like at least 10 paid costumes for everyone at this point?
I wouldn't expect less for V

None of the stuff in this game seems lazy, rushed is a better word. They may get better costumes later when they have more time.
