I can list 30 players better than Nash. Hell, Brevin Knight on the Suns would have given the same results. Much less any other star PG.
With the brilliant way the team is constructed, the PG and big man can never be doubled cos of the outside threats. Nash (and Stoudemaire) is waaay overrated this year.
I'm happier with this result than Shaq making it on name only. At least Nash has personal and team stats to back it up. The real MVP of the league this season was Allen Iverson though...
AI
Kidd
Parker
Bibby
Marbury
Arenas
Billups
Cloudy said:I just think AI got robbed. Has there ever been an MVP who wasn't an all-time great. Well, unless you guys think Nash is an all-time great :lol
Frikken Stockton never got an MVP and Nash gets one? Weird...
are you fucking insane? brevin knight!? dude, did you see what happened to the suns when Nash was out earlier in the year? let me tell you, they lost at least 4 straight games (maybe more) and looked like complete shit
there is no way in fuck that kidd, parker, bibby, marbury, arenas or billups are better than nash.

Kidd
Parker

If AI had gotten it,I would be thinking the same exact thing...what has AI done is his career to be considered an all-time great? So he can score and get his team to the playoffs and lose every year, big deal...
Really Konex, real PGs are rare and Nash is one of the top three in the league.

"help me out here Konex"

Take the starting PG off ANY team (especially a young one) and see what happens..
FrenchMovieTheme said:chucky atkins :lol :lol
you still didn't explain why the suns couldn't win those games without nash. if any PG can win in that system, why don't the suns cut nash and draft a PG in the 2nd round to run the offense? it would be cheaper wouldn't it?
Matrix said:``Maybe I need to go crazy. Maybe I should go crazy. Maybe that will help,'' Johnson said in a rambling postgame tirade. ``This series is about basketball, not all the other stuff. We lost the game. We don't make excuses. The game was called fairly pretty much ... there's no excuses, no complaints, no nothing.'' :lol

Cloudy said:4 time scoring champ plus all sorts of scoring records
ROY
1 season MVP
2 Allstar game MVPs
Carrying dead weight to the playoffs time after time and once to the finals
Dude was first in scoring this year and still found time to be top 5 in steals and assists
Now tell me what Nash has done except pass the ball to proven scorers?
Please don't compare Nash to AI. It's just wrong :lol
Any one who can play the position at this level is a PG and even more impressive to me.
Nash was great this year but folks are getting carried away :lol
DaddyZ said:Lets put it this way....AI is better than T-Mac.
Yea Iverson one of the top 5 players in the league today, but an NBA all-time great,imo...I dont see it yet.

I didn't say any PG can run that system. Any "decent" NBA PG can. And Nash is certainly above decent...
And Konex, you do realize when you list Marbury that he was on the Suns? And that Amare was nowhere near the player he is now with Marbury running the team?
Cloudy said:So Amare can't get better? Also, they never had shooters to spread the floor like they have now and teams could actually double Amare and Marbury.
They played the Spurs tough in the playoffs and won 2 games IIRC with Marbury carrying them. This Suns team will be lucky to get 1 from the Spurs...
DarienA said:the Heat's next game should be interesting...
etiolate said:Umm Marbury had Amare, Marion and Joe Johnson. He just didn't have Q.
Cloudy said:Not really. Wade will dominate and Shaq will somehow get praised for it![]()
DarienA said:Yes because that's what has happened all season, Wade never gets any credit. <sigh> Even with the smiley you can really work the nerves Konex.
OMG Chandler should have gotten the Flagrant 2 on that... or at the least the Flagrant 1, which he got... and the technical.
kgHavok23 said:Flagrant 2??? U dont get that unless you turn around punch someone square in the face....dont get carried away here. Flagrant 1 is probably a fine call. Besides...for as much shit Hughes talks, he needs a flagrant or two to set him straight.
Pimpwerx said:If Nash wins the MVP over Shaq, then I think I'll fucking cry. At the very least, you have to tie them. Even with the injuries, Shaq is clearly the more dominant player. You don't have to gameplan for Nash. All he does is dish the rock. He's not going to beat your team by himself. I think it's nice and all that a PG is doing well again, but Jason Kidd was just as important to his team, and he never got a goddamn MVP.
This would be even worse than giving Karl Malone an MVP over Jordan. Jordan was clearly the better player, yet the league decided to stiff him in favor of Malone. But in that case, Jordan already had a ton of trophies, so it didn't matter. But this is different. Shaq has arguably been the most dominant player in the league for a decade. Even when Jordan was playing, you had to rank Shaq right along with him in dominance b/c he still managed to carry a Magic franchise (which everyone now realizes sucks horribly) to a Finals. WTF did Nash do with the Mavs? A great team that's still in the playoffs, and he did jack shit with Dirk, Van Exel and Finley. Put Shaq on that squad, and Dirk would have a ring right now.
Again, you don't gameplay for Nash, he's not a scorer. A PG can't destroy you unless he can shoot. Nash is not gonna do that. He's not gonna hit the clutch shot in the end. He's fun to watch, but is he an MVP? That Shaq only has one MVP will go down as one of the greatest travesties in basketball history. Even AI has more MVPs, and AI hasn't been as valuable to his team as Shaq. He hefts up a lot of shots, but he hasn't been able to take Philly over that hump. Shaq's taken Orlando, LA and now he'll take Miami over that hump. If Nash wins the MVP, I can only hope we face his Suns in the Finals so Shaq can win another Finals MVP en route to embarassing another paper MVP. There's no fucking way on god's green earth that any reasonable person can place Nash higher than Shaq. Fucking A.PEACE.
