47/11/6
38/8/10
40/5/10

Jordan vs. Cleveland, '89 playoffs:

44/7/10
50/3/4
44/9/6

Jordan vs. Philly, '90 playoffs:

45/8/7
49/5/5
45/6/11

Jordan vs. Milwaukee, '90 playoffs:

38/8/7
35/9/11
48/9/5

Jordan vs. LA, '91 Finals:

33/7/13
29/9/9

56/5/5

Jordan vs. Phoenix, '93 Finals:

42/12/9
44/9/6
55/8/5
41/7/7

:D

(hey, I gotta pimp it at least once per NBA thread ;) :p )

I think Duncan and Shaq might have had 3 consecutive playoff games of this caliber a few years back as well (Shaq during his MVP year and Duncan the following year). If I recall correctly, Duncan nearly had a quadruple-double and then followed it up with a 40/20 game, and Shaq I think had a couple of 40/20 (or at least 35/15/4 block) games in the same series, though I'm not sure if it was consecutively.

Still, this is Nash's coming out party. He really showed me a lot this series-- I knew he was great, but not like THIS. Hopefully he can continue to play with that same confidence the rest of the way.

Suns are gonna get bitchslapped by the Spurs. They don't even try to guard anyone. Seattle is almost as good offensively but they gave the Spurs trouble cos they D-ed it up (at home anyways)..

Terry had to know that a 2 wouldn't beat them with 5 seconds left and force Nash off the 3pt line. He screwed up but Stack should have called time for a better shot...

Yeah the Mavs fucked themselves back to back on that. Do anything but let him get a 3 off. Then not to call a timeout so they could regroup and set up a play, mind boggling. I wouldn't be suprised if Dirk asks to be traded after this or tells Cuban to get rid of some guys and get him some better suporting players.

Seattle didn't D it up, they thugged it up. Seriously-- I haven't seen such intentionally brutish ball in a long while.

Whatever they did, it bothered the Spurs. I don't see how Phoenix can win more than one game if Duncan is healthy...

I want the suns to win but I would be surprised if they do. They were dominated in the regular season and Amare is playing weak around the hoop. He cant seem to defend or pull down a rebound. Suns made their run when Hunter went in.

Spurs will win 6 against Suns with Joe Johnson, sweep without.

But either way, I can't lose. Will be a great series again.

Jordan did that during the steroid era though. Inflated numbers.

Riiiight. '93 was inflated numbers? If Jordan was 28 years old in '98 instead of 36 it would have been the same shit and you know it-- but I'm going to drop it because you're just trying to get me riled up. :D

Jordan was good friends with Jose Canseco.

Hah, I thought that you were making an oblique argument about the supposedly inflated numbers of the past, not making a joke/taking a jab at baseball's steroid situation. I thought you were using the term "steroid" figuratively. Whoops. :D

This guy makes a compelling argument. I mean it is hard to argue FACTS!

Not only was MJ on roids and looney tunes, but defense was outlawed during the 80s and early 90s when he was doing most of his scoring damage. When the Celtics allowed Danny Ainge off the bench he would go for 30 in the 10 minutes they allowed him to play. It really wasn't that hard back in the day.

Even if Nash isn't as good as Jordan no one is going to argue that he is a better teammate (not even Loki). When Nash's teammates fuck up he still supports them and gives them a high five. When Bill Cartwright had a turnover he woke up in the ER. Who would you rather play with?

Look at what Jordan did to Kerr's kid when he missed a open jumper.

<sigh>

If you insist, bionic... :p

Just keep in mind that Jordan routinely dropped 50+ against the Pistons, who had two of the best defenders of their era in Dumars and Rodman and the best team defense, and the Riley Knicks, who also had two of the best defenders in Starks and Wilkins and the top team defense. He got it done regardless. But you just keep on believin'... :D

EDIT: Man, Jordan even took it out on Kerr's kid!? Wow... ;)

isamu is kidding, guys. You should know that.

Loving the Jordan comparisons, though, guys! I'm swelling with pride! Been watching the guy since he played ball here, so it's really exciting to see him perform so well. My dad and I were big fans of the Mavs during his years there, and now we're naturally rooting for Pheonix big time since the switch.

Hmm, I kinda regret going out tonight now. I watched moments of the game, but obviously missed the key stuff.

It's going to be very interesting seeing them take on the Spurs. Who, I think, are a more intelligent, tactical team. Obviously beating the Suns twice in the regular season corroborates that. It'll be an interesting series.

I think and hope it'll be a great series like everyone's expecting. Joe Johnson would be huge to the Suns obviously, but I think a lot of it really is going to depend on whether Nash can continue to elevate his game, because if he can the Suns have a legitimate shot. Obviously I'm cheering for the Suns, but I'll be happy so long as it's a good series. Before the season started, I said I would be ecstatic if the Suns could make the second round, so everything since the Grizz series has been cake.

I want the Spurs to win the whole thing! And the Heat to lose asap!

The basketball god better fucking grant my wish this time.

And make Ginobili a starter Spurs! What are you thinking of making him a reserve huh?!? NBA pisses me off all the time.

spurs vs suns, pistons vs heat, it's the matchups we were born to see baby! it will be spurs vs heat in the finals (unless shaq misses significant time or is completely uneffective)

p.s. told you what would happen eventually incognito. you were smart to have no confidence in your team by not betting, you now keep your $20. the niners bet still stands though... oh wait :D

Well I was born in France, grew up in Chicago, but went to high school and college in Arizona (where my family still lives). I go to law school in NYC. American sports-wise though, my teams are the Suns, Arizona Cardinals, Diamonbacks, and Coyotes.

So if Shaq plays the same way he's been playing for the past 3 months Pistons advance? Cool beans.

Leave Ichiro out of this you son of a bitch!

btw, report from another forum, some guy says that his "sources" tell him Shaq actually had blood drained from the 'bruise' (that sounds fucking gross btw) by his own personal doctor w/o notifying the Heat and it actually might have made his condition worse. He supposedly can't put any weight on his leg and could miss a huge chunk of the ECF.

From NY Post

As it turns out, the league official who called Van Gundy to discuss Mark Cuban's allegation re Yao Ming's penchant for moving and bobbing on picks had to be none other than VP of Basketball Operations Stu Jackson, Jeff's fast friend for two decades, not exactly a non-working referee, as originally maintained.

Wheres Bish at? :lol

Spurs are playing well, but their shots aren't falling as much as they should be (I'm looking at you, Robert Horry :p). Amare is beastin' out there-- he's incredible. Nash looks steady as usual. Parker has been a non-factor for the most part, as has Duncan. No way does SA win this series if they allow Phoenix to score 50+ every half. They had a good start and held them to a 20-point 1st quarter, but then Phoenix exploded, led by Stoudemire. Let's see how it plays out...
