Bowen kinda shut down Marion all game and Parker has cancelled out all Nash's points. The Phoenix bench is a sick joke :lol

Actually, Hair Canada is playing his ass off. I can't knock the guy, just still burns me about the mvp. But looks like it's gonna be a Spurs-Heat Finals. :D PEACE.

He (and his teammates) need to attempt to play D from time to time. Parker (who's been STRUGGLING) just did whatever he wanted...

Oh, are you sure about that? I thought it was just a great Mavs team they played. :lol I heard all this shit last series when it was just two no-D teams playing a game of horse. When the shit gets thick, this team can't keep up. Whoever emerges from the East...I mean, Miami is gonna embarass whichever of these two overhype patsies they face. I worry about the Spurs much more than the Suns, b/c Duncan is unstoppable when he's healthy. Can't say much for the rest of that team, but TD is formidable. I expect Phoenix to take the next game and then capitulate in 5. I hope they can stretch it to 7 though, Miami will need all the rest we can get after we sweep those bum Pistons. PEACE.

Barry and Horry got hot tonight, Barry especially-- but like I said, there's no way SA can win this series if they allow Phoenix 50+ point halves every half. The Spurs simply don't have the kind of firepower needed to keep up with that kind of scoring over the course of a series. When their shots are falling, like tonight, sure-- but what happens when they go through a cold spell? You can't count on Barry and Horry giving you 33 combined every night, nor on Parker to go for 25+. We'll see, I guess...

Stoudemire is ridiculous, btw. Did you see that jam from the dotted line at around the 2:00 mark? In a year or two, he's going to be unstoppable, particularly if they start featuring him more in the post when the transition game bogs down; as it stands, when they have to run half-court sets, Phoenix runs a motion offense with Nash as the distributor. Stoudemire has all the tools to become a dominant force for the next decade or so.

They can if the Suns allow 40+ in the fourth like they did tonight :lol And Parker is good for 25+ every night if they don't get Joe Johnson back in to play him like they did at times during the regular season. I don't like that matchup for Nash AT ALL...

Ok, I'm back. I haven't been dodging this thread; I was thrown BACK into the hospital Wednesday evening, a mere two weeks after my last discharge into a room with no internet connection. I've switched rooms, now, so all is good...

Seattle did better than I expected against the Spurs. Especially considering the Sonics were without their #2 and #3 scorers for a majority of the series. It was nice to see AD and Damian Wilkins step up, and I'm really enthused about the respective stocks in Luke Ridnour and Nick Collinson. Those guys just love to play, and it shows. Hopefully the idiot Starbucks owner gets up off his ass and resigns the TEAM and the COACH so they build on their recent success.

*PRAYS*

Batigooooool -- Still saving all the newspapers and even threw in some surprises for the gift package. The headlines are beginning to make me ill, though... bunch of damn homers. :lol

As for todays game: 43 pts put up by the Spurs in the 4th? That's obscene. That's ridiculous. That's Suns defense.

Terrrible. Feel free to play the first three quarters, Shawn Marion. You're greatly needed.

Having Joe Johnson would be nice too. :/ Ah well, crap fourth quarter, the Suns demonstrating yet again that they can't close out the Spurs, hopefully they can figure it out or this will be over fast.

Welcome beautful toddler, Madison Elizabeth, to the horde!
http://www.detnews.com/2005/pistons/0505/22/C12-189302.htm

The Pistons were still shaking their heads at what happened Thursday night as they were on their bus inside the loading-dock area of Conseco Fieldhouse.

It was between 11:30 and midnight and the Pistons' bus was about to leave the arena for the airport.

Suddenly, a dark Escalade roared into the loading dock, nearly hitting several people.

Out jumped Ron Artest, the Pacers forward who got a seasonlong suspension for his part in the Nov. 19 brawl.

According to Pistons players on the bus, Artest was wearing an old (and short) pair of shorts. He had no shoes on and, upon getting out of the vehicle, he tore off his T-shirt.

Given the history between Artest and the Pistons, the team's security officials were on high alert. But Artest made no motion toward the bus. He simply walked, bare-chested and bare-footed, into the building, presumably for a midnight workout.

"There's something going on there," Ben Wallace said, not wanting to comment further.

Manu Ginobili makes his move to the hole after learning that Tony parker had finished his relation with Eva Longoria.

Anyway, that was a great game by the Spurs and I was ecstatic to see Barry come alive at the right time. The whole team played really well and it was great to see TD having a mosnter game, eventhough you could see he wasn't really comfortable with his ankle.

Amare was amazing today. He is becoming the new Shaq, but with much more athleticism. He just wills his way to the basket and finds the way to put the ball in no matter how well he is defended. If he keeps working on his defense and post game he will be virtually unstoppable in a few years. So I think it's a good idea that the Spurs don't try to shut him down and rather focus on the rest of the Suns. Amare is going to get his points somehow, so you might as well shut down the other scoring threats and put as much pressure as possible on Nash.

Game 2 will be really interesting. The Suns will want to go for the kill early on, but I'm sure the Spurs will be ready. It's going to be a huge battle.

Seriously, this matchup is something special. Like few I've seen in many years.

And Incognito, I'm sure it must be hell for you to keep collecting that stuff, so I just wanted to say I appreciate it. :p

Oh, one last thing for Loki. You say the Spurs can't keep up that scoring rythm? You're wrong. When you consider the Spurs have players like Duncan, Parker ,Ginobili, Barry and Horry coupled with the non existant Suns defense, I'm absolutely sure the team can continue to score at will. Especially with the master adjustments Pop always does at the right times. They have the offense, they averaged 96 PPG. Not one of the best, but they just don't need to score like crazy thanks to his defense.

Yea, I don't agree with Loki, either. The Spurs are something like 31-2 when they score above 100, and in each win against Phoenix, they've proved they can run with the best of them and WIN. This isn't the Spurs circa 2003 and 1999; this team can flat-out run if need be.

It's funny. During the series with Seattle, I kept hoping Seattle would slow the pace down because I knew if the series turned into a track meet, the Sonics would lose rather embarrasingly -- as they proved in games 1&2. The best way to beat the Spurs is to slow them down by grabbing offensive boards, getting physical in the paint, and not allowing their guards to roam around without being touched. One thing about Parker, you start to get physcial with him, and that's it for the series. He'll be camped at the 3pt line the rest of the series. However, with Ginobili, that's not true. He'll keep coming at you no matter how many times you knock him to the floor. Even Danny Fortson knew he would keep coming: "He keeps coming, and he'll keep getting knocked around -- but that's Manu. He has a lot of heart, and I wouldn't expect any different from him. I love that guy."

Don't forget, he was also the man who convinced Francis to agree to the trade by promising him that they were building something special :lol I guess that "special" something was ditching the team to take a job with the NHL in the middle of a lockout.

You're at home and one of you go to folks sits out what is the beginning of the REAL playoffs for your team?

That's a mistake IMO.

according to ESPN, Miami still hasn't decided if Shaq's gonna play. They are still waiting to see how he feels after his pregame workouts. They did say that both Shaq and Stan Vangundy sounded optimistic.

btw, i want to give it to Rachel Nichols in the pooper.

Man, on the ESPN pre-game show they just showed the Jermaine O'Neal knee that injured Shaq, and it was brutal. I can see why it would still be hurting. It was full-force directly into the front/center of his thigh. Ouch.
