Official bitching about Hudson abandoning VC support. [VC/WiiWare = lost cause]

Is that Barack Obama, or Tim Meadows?

Oh my god, I get in here after not caring for the VC for quite a while, and all of a sudden, Super Turrican!!! O M G!!!! Late for Megaton!!!! Gonna download NOW!

Why is everyone hoping for Smash Bros?

The last thing I want to do is spend $10 on an 8 year old version of a brand new game I've got pre-ordered to play in a week's time.

It's like someone giving me a cat a week before I buy a new kitten. I don't want two cats!*

*Note, analogy may be poor.

Yes the correct analogy would be "It's like someone giving me a dead cat a week before I buy a new kitten. I don't want a dead cat!"

I don't think so. The game isn't unplayable, whereas the cat would be unusable.

I'd say we probably need to meet halfway and make the cat old and blind in one eye.

It's so fascinating how eagerly you kids set yourself for disappointment every single week.
Disappointment is the only joy in a gamer's life and is to be strived for at all costs, much like enlightenment to the Buddhists.

This is a skill we Mother fans have raised to an art form.

On a serious note (in other words, this time I may actually be setting myself up for disappointment)...

There's still nothing listed for NA for TG16 in March. But considering Hudson's on-the-ball track record each month (ascending from November 2006), with 3 games, then 4, then 3, then 3, then 2, then 5, then 4, then 4, then 5, then 3, then 4, then 2, then 2, then 2, then 1, then 2, I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume they're releasing some non-TG16 games in March. Come on, Do Re Mi Fantasy! And Hudson's Adventure Island, for that matter; I might not buy it, but at least that would be good setup for the later games which I could pick up.

I thought Adventure Island was already on the Virtual Console.

AI NES is already on VC, but the godly Adventure Island II is not. Comon Hudson!!

Oh, guess I overlooked it somehow. It only showed up this year in Japan, and I had just kind of assumed surely nobody else had gotten it earlier.

And so the question remains whether we'll get bombshell or bomba. I just hope this doesn't become a regular occurrence like Two-Games-Per-Week Syndrome.

I'm hoping it looks something like this (wow am I bored today):

There's a joke in here somewhere about Wii owners and/or NeoGAFers getting their fun from everything except playing games, but I'm not going to be the one to find it. >_>

I need some help from you nintendo fans. Confession: the only zelda game I've played, finished, and loved is Zelda: OoT. I picked up Majora's mask back in the day but could never get into it.

I'm getting some cravings to play Zelda again. Should I go buy Twilight Princess, which looks like just a rehash of OoT, or do I venture into the past and pick up LttP on the VC..or do I go grab Phantom Hourglass for the DS. I'm leaning on LttP since it's only $10.

Definitely grab LttP, it's my favourite Zelda title but cops a bit of flak on here at times due to people having played OoT first or Link's Awakening.

But LttP was the start of the whole light vs dark world scenario.

Twilight Princess is a great game. Easily my 2nd favorite Zelda (behind The Wind Waker). I don't know if its still $50 (I bought it at launch, so I haven't bothered tracking the price of the game after that), but it's worth $50. If you don't have $100+tax (the other $50 being for SSBB :D ), then maybe ALTTP. I didn't care for PH based on the demo I played.

Buy a Link to the Past. If you have a GBA or GBC and don't mind buying (probably) used, also hunt down Link's Awakening DX (or normal Link's Awakening if you can't find that). They're my two favorites overall, anyway.

If you want to venture into the 2D realm of Zelda games, I'd go with LttP or Link's Awakening. I haven't personally played Phantom Hourglass yet, but it seems like something you couldn't judge the series on.

I think I'm going to get me some Wii Points and grab me some LttP. I guess I didn't realize SSMB was out so soon lol. $10 ftw.

if you really think that Mario All-Stars is going to come out and let people buy 1 game instead of 4 (original, mario 2, mario 3, lost levels) you are in for quite a long wait.

It'll come eventually, but I suspect a higher than average price point.

Quick question... I'm pondering purchasing the TG16 Galaga game (Galaga 88/91/whatever), but I was wondering whether it was essentially the same game as Galaga Arrangement (arcade & GC/Xbox/PS2 Namco Museum) or whether it was a unique entity.

Is there anyone who's played both and could tell me whether there is a reason to buy Galaga ## on the TG16 if I already have Galaga Arrangement?

Once you get the chance, get Twilight Princess. It's like Ocarina only better.

you did that on purpose.

Twilight Princess is the worst Zelda game ever - stay away. (it's not a BAD game, it's just not the best zelda game)

I'd say get the Virtual Console one - the Gameboy Advance ones with the link soundclips are so awful - I loved the Mario Advance series and the little voice clips here and there, but I dunno for the GBA remake of Zelda it just didn't fit, plus they fucked with the Light World Music :o
