You may want to ask them to mark it as a gift when you order. I did, and even though it's probably their deal to mark things as gifts anyway, it's best to be safe.

Yea im going to run by my import store tommorw who goes through ncsx and throw down another 40 and they will call em up and have it ready for weds shipping. I had overnight shipping still.. so I should have it thursday or Friday at the latest.

Only the Wi-Fi config is deleted from your old DS (it's in hardware). So yeah, your friend code would change on the old DS. Bizarrely, you can upload your Wi-Fi config to two DSes at once though... I wonder what that's all about. Maybe you can send it to the Revolution in the future?A_Lee_N said:

So yea.. That would seem like a better deal to me.. I dont see how its hard for an import store to get the DS Lite in overnight shipping? I order through them because they give me this benefit. They package my items through the products they sell in there store, but since I got there all the time I get most things at cost or at NCSX price + 10% discount. The DS Lite they did through there cost since it was a preorder. Most the stuff I buy through them is usually just what they have on the shelves which is mostly NCSX pricing.
Twice is more then enough.
BTW: How do you upload your old info from your old DS to a new one? Ive never figured that out.

that's a far cry from simply asking about the bizarre nature of the situation with prices and expressing doubt as to whether his version of events was going to pan out... I'm sure you meant no harm, but it sounded a bit condescending.

I used to work at the same type of store that would use places like NCS and get discounts, but the prices were always marked up higher, since the store had to make a profit, too. I can see this happening with software, but with hardware that retailers typically don't make anything (or just a small amount in the case of imports), especially something as in-demand as the DS Lite, I'm just quite curious about this store is all.
But if you can get the system for that price, more power to you.

btw the only reason why its free overnight shipping is because they have other games bundled in the box wtih the DS Lite for the overnight shipping.. They obviously wouldnt give it to me for free if it were just the DS lite :lol
EDIT: And like i said, they do mark prices higher on items.. Not sure if you are having trouble reading my posts.. But I said they arent marking the DS Lite up. Even some of the items I get specially ordered that I have to wait for I usually just pay the cost. But if its an item in the store.. I pay the NCSX Price (which is there profit) but at least get a 10% off discount.
They oddly give discounts to Gamestop/EB employees because they bring them the most buisness, since they mod systems and also refurbish them too.

Personally I think they stay in business with the repairs. They dont charge as much as sony and MS and its local. And its oddly weird but every gamestop encourages people to go there.
Its also located in a fairly ritzy mall and still sells tons of rare games and systems all in AWESOME condition. The store amazes me in many ways myself.

EDIT: eBay prices seem to be down for auctions (not buy it now). Also, the white being rare seems to be validated by the fact that the eBay auctions seem to be a good 20-50$ higher at the same points in time.

Shipping was $41.88 for FedEx/UPS 1-3 day. 7-15 day airmail was about $22, and there was one in the middle costing about $30 iirc. Expensive, almost twice as much as Lik-sang shipping charges, but Lik-sang doesn't have any systems, so, you know.meltpotato said:
