Official Fable II Thread

So I decided to be a compassionate soul and I married Alex from the
ghost/jilted lover quest
. After having a child together I venture off to save the world. Upon returning home I sleep with her for only the second time, and shortly after I am checking my stats and surprise...I have an STD. Bitch is about to be reunited with her ex.....

Alright so I ended the game once
(my character was alll conflicted between sacrifice and family, whatever
but it seems like
the three choices at the end are really the only things that determine the 'ending' of the game, is that as far as it goes? I might not replay right away then as I am a sucker for alternate endings and Fable seems to have more of an 'alternate world' system where huge bits of Albion are radically different based on your choices.

NPCs for the most part get replaced anyway right?
Not from my experience. A vendor who died has never come back. It sucks because I owned the cart too!

I haven't killed anyone (well supposedly I've killed 3 villagers but I don't know/when that happened) to know for sure.

For autographs you need to buy the autograph cards. For the temple next to one of the monks there is a donation box, it's easy to miss.
Is there a certain amount you have to donate to finish that quest? I got the Sun Riser or whatever... I can buy the temple now but I want to keep saving for the Brightwood Tower.

Is it possible to play the childhood with a friend, co-op? Do I miss out much if I just rush through it?

I think there's bugs involved with co-op in childhood, so i wouldn't recommend it.

Just ask him to wait 1/2 an hour, childhood doesn't take any longer than that.

urgh, already had a bug where when I confirmed travelling to see my wife it would just return to the menu rather than travel me, and now after beating the cruicible I went to Bowerstone and saw my wife wandering around, I went to follow her and she moved regions, when the load screen went away I was in the new area with a message saying "following the death of your wife your son has been taken by child services" and i gained evil and lost reknown.. utter bollocks, I turned it off in frustration and now realise ive either lost alot of progress or it autosaved as i loaded the screen and she will be dead no matter what as you only get one save.

You telefragged your wife :O

I had my wife randomly turn up in bloodstone (I was just about to jump into bed with someone else at the time :lol), next time I loaded the game she was back at home in Homestead.

I wouldn't say you miss much at all if you rush through it, just make the good or evil decisions and move on quickly. I found childhood to be pretty boring tbh.

im trying my hardest to make the flies appear... has anyone here been able to do it?

buy some property and jack the prices up + 100%, if you own a few properties it shouldn't take more than 20 minutes for corruption to kick in. I know it didn't take me very long.

Maybe Fable 2 was Microsoft's gift to everyone... help them all get RRoD on their launch consoles before the guarantee runs out. :D

got this game last night and played for about an hour and a half, am enjoying myself quite a bit.

i'm going full evil for sure, and i've already killed enough innocents to have little horns and slightly blackened skin.

someone please spoil me and tell me - is it possible to get evil enough to look like the demon on the cover, or will you always have some semblance of humanity?

Have been playing a ton today, mostly screwing around. I'm liking the game but there are lot of little things that bug me, mostly on the technical side.

I noticed that my character started getting the blue veiny shit in his face so I had counter it with a bit of evil. I want my character to have a hint of evil about him but I don't want horns or other demon stuff, is that possible or will your character always develop one way or another?

I also want to know if more clothing items will become available in the shops later on.

The blue lines are on your character if they're a magic user. The more points you put into magic, the more noticeable they become. For your character to stay normal in appearance you have to do your best to stay neutral.

And depends on how many shops there are already available to you. You come across new ones that have different clothes, but their inventory doesn't vary that much during the course of the game.

So, I came back to Bowerstone Market, and decided to rest in the Inn. Ran upstairs, slept 12 hours, it plays the long drawn out waking up animation, game starts to stutter, and becomes a slide show. Some guy in the room is asking how you get a concubine, and then the game freezes.

WTF

This is the 2nd time it's frozen on me, of course when I haven't saved in a while. I'm not even sure I like the game enough to keep playing. The combat is fun, but I'm finding the questing to be tedious and boring.

When does the game get good?

I just finished the part where
Hammer becomes a follower, and I was sent back to Bowerstone to talk to someone and upgrade my weapons

My understanding is the blue veins are simply from using Will a lot... I don't think that is a byproduct of being good but I could be wrong? I'm good and use a lot of magic so I can't confirm personally, but that was the impression I got during the game.

I waited for Lucien to finish his speech, but Reaver shot him first. "Oh sorry, did you want to kill him?"
:lol

hahaha, really.. he does.. ? I did the dead myself, never even thought to wait.

I think that is true. Even the Villagers say things like, "using too much magic have we" :p

Castle Fairfax quest:
I'm in the room that has four arches, and you have to hit the thing with magic, and then shoot it three more times with a ranged weapon. I can't seem to get it the last time. I can't stand in the same spot and hit it all three times, I need to move for the last one and I can't do so in enough time. Am I doing something wrong, or do I really need to run, draw, and hope the reticle lines up the target because I have absolutely no time to adjust?

Just completed the main story line with about 25 hours or so. Love the ending, leaves open many possibilities. Would say this is tied as my favorite RPG this gen with ME. With that said I have lots to do still here with plenty of side quests left and property money making. Of course I still will have to play an all evil character sometime as well, heh. Oh yea, my GOTY thus far this year, edging MGS4 just a bit.

With that said this game should be a prime target for endless DLC possibilities.

Does anyone actually walk to their locations? I was on the quest currently with the Abbot in Oakfield..and it required me to go to Rookridge..then somewhere else, then all the way back to Oakfield. Of course, I "teleported"...but just wondering if anyone does the opposite and just walks everywhere?
I didn't even know you could teleport. :lol

Having said that, I'll still walk. I did that for Oblivion, for the first 60 or so hours of my first character. I like the feeling of travel, and of scouring the land for treasure and knocking off the odd bandit pack. I doubt I'll ever use it.

^^^

Don't forget to take advantage of the coach travel, it can come in handy when you need to get places quickly (ie, take advantage of sales/shortages). Few times I've tried to make a bundle by buying low and selling high only to get to my destination a day late, with an inventory full of jewels I can't get rid of. :(

Few places take about 80 hours to walk between, you can miss out on some 3 day sales whilst just travelling.

Man, traveling everywhere would be terrible on a marriage. Especially if you're like me with three wives... I have to teleport constantly :lol I like the feeling of traveling when I get the chance, it feels so much less linear than the first Fable.

Yeah that is correct. If you don't add magic skills, you can eliminate the veins. I only have Time Control and mine are extremely faint. I'm full on good/pure.

I thought so... until I realised that you don't actually have to target the orb.

The autoshot hits it.

  • Stand in the middle of the room, lightning the left side.
  • Press Y to autohit the orb when it moves in front of you.
  • Move right, hit Y to autohit again.
  • Move right, hit Y to autohit again.

I felt pretty stupid when I worked that out. I must have spent 20 minutes trying to hit the thing with manual targeting.

You felt pretty stupid? I don't even know Autohit is. Do you mean just shoot, or is it a gameplay option? Also, please tell me where the last 10 silver keys are.

It's not "teleporting". It's just simplifying your journey. It still takes the same time (game hours) to travel to these places. The "teleportation" is still taking as long as it would have taken to walk.

So you're not actually being easier on your hubby by letting the game take you to a place instantly. You're just fooling yourself. And saving your real life self the travel time. The game "pretends" that you walked the whole distance and comps you the hours and days. Which is why if you are running out of time for a job and are on the other side of the world, by the time you get to the other side the job is gone. Because it took you too long to walk.

The only "Teleportation" in the game are the two Cullis Gates. One is one way, the other two.

Alright, where the fuck is
the last piece of Captain Dread's Treasure? I swear I've been all over the fucking Island of Doom 10 times and neither me or my dog have found it.

So how do you open that chest that says you need to go to www.fable2.com. I went to that website but have no idea what to do.
http://fable2.xbox.com/experience.aspx?lang=en-US

Play through the flash game and whatever items you unlock are placed in that chest (you can only open it once, so be sure to unlock everything you want).

Go back to like, page 5 of this thread and start scanning the posts. We talked a lot about the items back there.
