Anyway, anyone know about that axe? The Cleaver or whatever? 8/8 perfect rounds, no axe. Me am make sad face. Don't want the game to save before I go grab it wherever the heck it's supposed to be.

Couple of checks:

i.) do you have Hero of Will achievement?
In other words, have you completed the Spire?
ii.) did the 2 commentators rattle on and on about how you broke all previous records?
ii.a) if they did, your quest trail should lead you to a room in the same area where round 8 took place, and in a chest is your Chopper.

On a sidenote, I'm in the camp that feels the Daichi and a custom made master class weapon with ghoul attachment are far more useful than any of the legendary weapons. The Red Dragon is also my gun of choice, its reload speed is godly awesome! Uggh @ the retarded nature of the Enforcer...it failed me once in the range and it let me down again in round 8 of the Crucible.

Speaking of guns, can anyone offer me any advice for the shooting range? I can only get as high as fifth place.

I know that I am supposed to go for head shots to earn more points, but either I'm incapable of pulling them off well enough or I'm using the wrong gun (a rifle) or something.

I do point out that during rounds 2 and 3, the few will jump from first person back to third person then wait a few seconds before allowing me to go back into first person view/targeting. That seems like a bug to me, but I'm not sure if anyone else is experiencing that.

Didn't see it mentioned in your post but headshots equal 3 points.

Ya I got that bug too two time during a run I finished 8 points behind 1st place. So mad that I just gave up doing it.

The Daichi isn't a legendary weapon? That and a master longsword with a money4kills augment are my swords of choice. For guns I like to use the Perforator for long range and the Enforcer for short range. I can't believe you dissed the Enforcer... it scars your character like mad when you get hit with it equipped but daaaamn that thing has so much power. It one shot kills nearly every enemy in the game if you're close enough.

I was hoping for more at the last part. its very anti-climactic.
the build up to find lucian only to be killed by a single friggin bullet, and i was ready to go all out with this guy.

I'll start sharing the dolls tonight. My buddy still has mine and he is working at the moment. My GT is nastynate409 so just add me and I'll let you know when I have the dolls.

The Daichi is a legendary weapon, my point being apart from Daichi and Red Dragon, most of the legendary weapons ARE crap. Even the hint boxes during load times tell you this outright, most of them offer lesser damage than its master counterparts, but more interesting augments. Well yeah, interesting doesn't automatically translate into useful.

By endgame, it is pointless to have the Enforcer as sub-targeting > headshot kills most things in one shot, and even if Red Dragon doesn't one hit-one kill on the first shot, its 6 round clip + 0.75 reload speed ensures a 2nd headshot will do the trick. It isn't the scars that bother me (there is a way to remove your scars:
sleep in Garth's Tower after being offered the chance to buy it and complete the sub quest in it
), it is the fact that in round 8 of the Crucible getting a perfect is hard with the Enforcer, but woefully easy with the Red Dragon. Before round 8's resident can move, his life bar is already 70% depleted. I can't pull that off with the Enforcer. Which brings me to...

Ditch your rifle and get a Master Clockwork Pistol. Make sure it is a clockwork variant, not the turret. What you want is the fast reload speeds so you can have more time to adjust your aim for headshots. Once you have Red Dragon, use that to farm for dolls. It is normal for the switch between rounds to have a shift in perspective.

You are not alone in your pain. Arguably the lowest point of Fable 2, after delivering immersion in spades.

Boo! I loved how it defied conventions and said
fuck it, you don't fight the bad guy. I don't believe a boss fight is the only way to handle a climactic ending... I thought running away from your sister in search of your murdered parents was pretty damn intense...

But still, there was a final boss fight. It's the big ole shard you have to fight with the other heroes. It just doesn't happen at the very end. When it comes to Lucien, I like not having to fight him. You know it was gonna be easy as heck anyway. Not all games need boss fights even if they have one central villain. Look at Bioshock, for example, it was completely unnecessary in that game as well. The first Fable's boss wasn't anything special either.
I was more amazed and intrigued by the fact I had to shoot bottles as a kid than any boss fight would've made possible.

Yeah, I actually really really liked almost everything about the ending sequence.

I couldn't disagree more, in fact I think a drawn out final boss fighter would of detracted from the narrative and from the maturity of narrative in games as a whole. I think it works on two levels:

Lucien was never presented as anything more than a man with a lot of money, resources and a gun. His commandants and his soldiers did the dirty work and hence physically stronger than him, they were loyal to him because of his control of anicent technology. It makes sense that he would be as mortal as any other person in the world whilst you were the hero.

Then obviously there's the irony of the situation, he killed everybody you loved with the simple pull of a trigger, he had you on the other end of the barrel of his pistol twice and did the same, failing. However when the roles are reversed he dies just like the dog, he doesn't survive like the hero.

Cool, thank you for this. Can I buy the Master Clockwork Pistol at most of the gun sellers throughout the world, or do I need to do something specific to get it?

Also, I'm sorry if I wasn't clear, but the perspective shift is during each of rounds two and three. I'll be in first person perspective, shooting a target, when suddenly I'm kicked out to third person perspective. The round is ongoing the entire time, and of course this costs me valuable time.

But do they kill 3 things in a row with one shot, without targeting? Do they blow their puny little ragdoll corpses away like the Enforcer can? I think not! It doesn't sound like something I'd use in round 8 of the crucible tho so I see where you're coming from with that. :)

I like to switch up my weapons as much as I switch up my clothes. I have the Red Dragon as well but I haven't used it as much as my other legendary guns. I don't think any weapon can be described as pointless and not useful what with the game being so easy and all :D. 'Cept maybe the toy weapons...

You're welcome.

You can pick up the Master Clockwork Pistol at any weapon store. I'm not sure of the criteria, generally the more stars an economy has, the higher chances of it stocking better goods. I'm not sure if I'm making a mistake by confusing cause and effect with coincidence, but I've noticed the further along I get in the game, the more items will be made available. Well, it could have been because I'm further in the game, hence I've done more jobs and trades, that's why the stores start offering better gear.

Either way, no special requirements, just keep moving the main story and try your best not to fuck up the economy. It will show up. It isn't so much that the economy can't be repaired; it is that repairing it takes precious time.

Yup I've experienced this too, at times I attribute it to my fingers slipping, but no biggie, just resume pressing it. 175 is a bit hard, but definitely doable if you can maintain an average of 60 points per round. Once you start farming for dolls, you are gunning for 50 points/round. Practice a bit and you will soon find that there is some room for errors, hence the shift in perspective, while detrimental, isn't going to mar your chances at getting the top and 2nd prizes by a wide margin.

For AoE, I use level 3 Time Stop to get advantage in time, then unleash level 5 fire/lightning spells. If you are talking about getting satisfaction from a close range blast with a shotgun, that I am with you on it being satisfying. But I maintain that its pragmatic worth is questionable in the presence of more efficient killing methods.

Okay, anyone who wants a Lucien doll can come get one from me. I will hand them out freely to anyone who needs one. Just add me on Live. I will be at the shooting range in Westcliff for the next 30 minutes or so, so if you'd prefer just come over and ask for one.

GT: Mjolnir T Stone

Finished this up last night. What a fun ride. Took me 30 hours. I have a few quests remaining and would love to find all the Gargoyles on my own.
game of 2008 so far for me.

Dolls are here. Meet me at Bowerstone Market Clock Tower to get the dolls. Please hand them out to your fellow Gaf members who have asked for them. Enjoy!

Sorry Shim, I was going to give them to you first, but I have an anatomy exam I need to study for and I need to get them out of my hands ASAP so everyone else can get them.

Yea, sorry it took so long. I accidentally gave the Reaver doll to that kid that would not shut up in Bowerstone. I'm surprised he gave it back to me, since he was trying to pawn off a Forever Ring....

The camera is poor and your characters movement is floaty and unresponsive.

Huh? It's a standard third person camera that you control the same as whats in hundreds of games.

Also don't get the floaty comments. Animation is IMO one of the high points of the game. Your character really seems to have weight to him as your moving around. Maybe in full sprint he seems to glide a bit but who cares?

Sucks on the tech issues. I guess I've been lucky and in 25+ hours haven't run into anything significant (a villager levitating every now and then). Rock solid frame rates too.

I'm thinking the Chopper can't be won at this point. So I guess I'll just go after all the gargoyles and demon doors and silver keys I can before going on.

Also, man, all the potential wives are fugly. I didn't fancy Alex, so I went ahead and gave her the note from her ex. Mainly, I didn't fancy the way the game instantly made me instantly decide to make that choice, when I was one emote away from her wanting to jump me.

Do I need to get married before going to the Spire? Maybe the last few areas or endgame quests will provide some better options than Shelly the Thug or Karen the Barmaid.

Maybe I'm just too picky. Maybe my tastes are too weird - too bad you can't marry Sister Hannah. :lol She's awesome.

xI BR4D Ix now has all the dolls, so if you need them, please bug him. :D

PLEASE share them as soon as you have the achievement so that others can get it also.

Where is the demon door at in Oakfield?

Know where the statue lady is?

There's a silver key inside that house, there's a chest right behind that house (it has flowers and a ring, hint, hint), and if you just go along the ocean back there you'll find a little path. There's a chest back there as well if you go far enough, but the door will stop you along the way and ask to see a proposal.

You don't ever have to get married if you don't want to. After the Spire you'll be able to go to other places with different NPC models. If you like your women trashy, you may want to wait.

NW from the sculptor, along the coast.

There's a bazillion generic villager / housewives that all look the same with slightly different hats. There's the stylist who's kind of cool, but she's a lesbian. There's the jewelry lady, but I'm pretty sure she's bald. There's the fish stand girl with her messy apron... :lol

I wouldn't mind kind of an aristocrat sort of deal but the models in Fairfax are uglier than for the girls at Westcliff, and with one exception, that's saying something.

At this point I'm leaning towards the Furniture Seller as the best of bad options, or maybe just some random gypsy wandering around Bower Lake. In which case I should have just gotten married right off the bat, but oh well.

What would be really cool would be the ability to give NPCs a gift of clothing and have them swap out.

After 20 hours of awesome (!), I finally beat Fable II last night.

I now know what love is.

I'm sure it has been posted here many times, but it will not hurt to post it once more for people who don't know about it.

If you purchased the LE and di not receive your DLC Code, follow the link and enter your windows live ID and microsoft will send you the code within 5 business days.

I am not sure how they can tell if you purchased the LE or not though, will be interesting to see if people rip MS off and claim they purchased the LE when they in fact did not.

I completed the main quest and finished 90% of the sidequests and I never got married or had kids. I'm not interested in any of the Sims type elements, but at no point does the game force you to do any of that. I avoided all of it and still had about 20+ hours of play time and found it to be immensely enjoyable overall.

I played around with the relationship stuff at the beginning of the game but found it not only totally unnecessary but extremely buggy, between the 0-upkeep bug and the 'frozen' marital property bug it wasn't worth the effort.

so this portion of the game can be ignored without any penalties? Im asking because Im also getting a bit tired of it already and I just started.

Yup, there's absolutely no reason to do it. You can earn respect/renown by simply doing side quests.

You only need a family 'briefly' for some quests (the deamon door in Oakvale, to do the ultimate sacrifice at the shadow temple, the ghost quest, etc)
