How is that stadium anyway? I was completely against the stage but it turned out to be a good thing because the supporters groups got together. I remember watching the Columbus-KC game and saying wow.
I really like Crew Stadium, but I don't have much perspective because I haven't been to any other SSS in the US. The area around the stadium is really nice, and there aren't many bad seats in the house. You're very close to the action as well, and when the crowd goes silent you can hear a lot of what the players are saying. It's also at an excellent location; it's not right in the middle of downtown, but it's in Columbus proper and is fairly easy to get to.

I haven't been to a game yet this year (I am going to the Crew-Revs game in September), but as far as I can tell the stage sticks out like a sore thumb and is ugly as sin. But yeah, the supporters groups used to be spread out, and now they're all grouped together into the Nordecke, which is excellent.

That's exactly the same thing that I do. The comments are like watching youtube users talking in real-time.

Is there any way to do this and then lock it in to being above all other pages? That way I could keep browsing whilst watching without having to resize the other browser window........ :-/

Bellamy has just done his hamstring (Again) in a pre-season friendly.

I open two windows - one that is regular sized w/ all of my usual tabs and another smaller one that just has the video running. Makes the sizing better and alt-tab to swap back and forth.

I dunno Im on a mac and I resize my normal browser window by making it a bit smaller.. its still pretty decent.. depends on screen size tho..

That's how I do it as well. I was just wondering if there was another way. lol It would be helpful in quite a few situations to have something that hovers over everything else no matter what you do. lol

Happens when you buy all newcastles cast-offs.

Or when there's a fundamental issue with the training regime (*conspiracy theory*).

I spoke to a fellow hammer today. I couldn't believe what he said. Basically he said he'd risk WHUFC going down for a season if it meant Curbs got the push. :/

I dont think it's the training, it's the facilities, Pardew got sacked because of pre-season injuries (team wasn't fit for the start of the season because of them), Curbs cleared out the medical team, things didnt improve, now Nani has cleared out the medical team again and brought in a load of italians..the only constant has been Chadwell Heath, they need to pull their finger out and buy the new training ground already (they've been promising for 18 months)

We're winning 5-2 so the Curbs haters are still a little premature.

I was just checking out the NBC Olympic site to figure out if I'm getting the US games in HD. They have some amusing photo galleries including: the guide to volleyball hand signals, which is basically pictures of female volleyball bootay. Good times. :lol

As far as scheduling goes, it turns out that they only have two kickoff times each day and there are only six match days (August 7, 10, 13, 16, 19, 22.) It'll all be over pretty quickly. Looks like the first US match isn't in HD, but I might be able to track down the other ones.

who cares about the olympics when the fantastic news that we were all waiting for just surfaced?:

the new extreme album is being released tomorrow and my copy has been shipped.

And City, whilst shying away from a bidding war, are also considering a move for Reading left-back Nicky Shorey, who is wanted by Villa and Portsmouth.
Could it be... a LB transfer rumor?

Plan the parade.

It seems some places just have dodgy training or its players with constant injuries. But I doubt Bellamy would get injured at Bolton.

Sam Allardyce had a brilliant support set up but it costs a bit in wages, he also pushed through Bolton's training facilities being 21st century as far as I'm aware he got them better than anywhere else in the country.

Wenger and Houiller were both disgusted at the training facilities which is why they built new ones Rafa said the best gift Houiller left him was the rebuilt Melwood, he improved on it when he arrived.

Newcastle have always had injury problems but Ashley wouldn't completely fund Allardyce's changes (because he knew he was going to fire him) but their problem is still their facilities compared with West Ham.

West Ham is just buying dodgy players prone to injuries.

Interesting footnote the domestic fall back if Rafa turned us down was Alan Curbishley.

It's a decent hour. With these things I go for the absurdity of them, not waking people up at three in the morning. (Though I am sure someone is going to hit me with one of those.)

Cornballer might like to rub the Galaxy's woes in your face, Karakand, but I prefer to take the highroad of sportsmanship and fairplay.

Heh. Nice pic, bean breath.

Long article in Der Spiegel about Klinsmann and Bayern. Thought it was worth a read - they talk about his style and the changes he wants to make in the face of the long Bayern tradition. A bunch of US fans are bitching about not getting Klinsmann on the US forum again because of this article.

2008 Power Rankings: Week 19
Rk(Pr) Team (W-L-T) Comment
1 (1) New England 10-4-3 The only team in MLS to have won more than half of its matches.
2 (5) Houston 6-4-8 Dominic Kinnear's surging club has allowed only four goals in 10 games in all competitions.
3 (4) Real Salt Lake 7-6-6 RSL grinds out another home win, but its road frailties need to be rectified.
4 (2) Columbus 9-6-4 The Crew struggle to finish without Olympic players Robbie Rogers and Emmanuel Ekpo.
5 (7) DC United 8-8-1 Two new additions, Joe Vide and Ivan Guerrero, helped balance the midfield at RFK.
6 (3) Chicago 8-5-5 After nearly 200 minutes without a goal, rookie No. 1 pick Patrick Nyarko sparks Fire in home win.
7 (10) Dallas 6-6-7 Can the Hoops afford to let Kenny Cooper go to Europe? Not on this latest evidence.
8 (6) Chivas USA 6-7-4 They went from Brad Guzan to Zach Thornton in goal, a brutal reduction in talent.
9 (9) Los Angeles 6-8-5 After losing to the expansion Quakes, the wheels have officially fallen off for the Galaxy.
10 (8) Toronto FC 6-8-4 The early season love affair with Amado Guevara is already beginning to end.
11 (11) Kansas City 5-6-7 Wizards still finding goals hard to come by as they're shut out for the seventh time this season.
12 (14) San Jose 4-9-6 Don't write that playoff obituary yet. The Quakes' revamped attack wins them a California Clasico.
13 (13) RBNY 5-6-7 Juan Carlos Osorio has wheeled and dealed, but are the Red Bulls any better?
14 (12) Colorado 6-9-3 They appear to be standing pat in the transfer window. Is that really a good idea?
I'm going to enjoy this for two weeks before we get crushed by the Revs at Buck Shaw.

Here's a picture of your former goalkeeper (who the Galaxy chewed up last season and shat out to us in favor of some dude, Cronin, who consequently leads the league in goals allowed.) Joe Cannon, basking in the glory of victory.

Wilshere is the first good English player I have seen in ages. He has an acceptable level of technical ability. Get him on more creatine, he is alread twice the size of Walcott.

Vela also needs some creatine. Double the dosage.

I hope you're joking. Unless you want them to have kidney failure in a few years, creatine is not the best idea. Wilshere shouldn't even be lifting heavily yet. He's just a boy, only 16. He's shown tremendous ability and potential, but you can't rush him. That goes for the coaching staff and the supporters. At his age, you can't expect him to put on significant weight in muscle...the healthy and right way at least.

At 16, your body is obviously not completely developed. He hasn't filled out yet but that doesn't mean you should try to make up for that by getting him in the gym too early. With time, his physicality will come. No matter how late you hit puberty, everyone is pretty much done growing by the age of 25 and if he is handled the right way, he could be a great player at that age.

The Arsenal staff is surely aware of this and I'm sure they're going to be paying very close attention to his development and the routine that they put him on.
