I met Sparta on their first tour in support of The Murder City Devil's final tour. We met the Devils at a local bar by the venue and they invited us back to their tour RV and we drank until they went on stage, the show was awesome had a few songs dedicated to us.

I think Denali is a good band, the other stuff is more hit and miss, but Denali seems consistent.

A female led band I really like is Scarling, a little louder then what you guys have posted, but well worth checking out.

Newbie question here, but where would be the best place to catch streaming games? Football4less? I want to specifically catch some Bundesliga and EPL games.

Being in the States makes catching these games a tad inconvenient.

FC Dallas signs Sikora

FC Dallas said goodbye to Colombian midfielder Juan Toja over the weekend, but have already replaced him. The Hoops agreed to terms with forward/midfielder Victor Sikora on Monday, and should have the former Dutch national team player on the roster soon.

Sikora last played for Dutch club NAC Breda (whose general manager is none other than former U.S. national team star Earnie Stewart), and also had stints at Ajax and Vitesse Arnhem. Sikora is expected to play on the wings for FC Dallas.

Sikora joins recently acquired midfielder Bruno Guarda, who made his FC Dallas debut in the team's 2-0 win against Toronto FC on Sunday.

Cooper earns MLS player of the week

FC Dallas forward Kenny Cooper was named MLS player of the week for his two-goal performance in helping the Hoops beat Toronto FC, 2-0, on Sunday. The brace was Cooper's second in two matches and moved him into a tie with LA's Landon Donovan for the MLS lead in goals with 13.

Rapids loan O'Brien to Seattle Sounders

This news went down in the middle of last week but for those of you who may have missed it, Colorado Rapids rookie Ciaran O'Brien was loaned to USL side Seattle Sounders for the remainder of the season.

The loan comes on the heels of Seattle losing playmaker Leighton O'Brien to a broken arm that could sideline him up to eight weeks. Yes, Ciaran is Leighton's brother.

The No. 5 pick in the 2008 MLS Draft, Ciaran O'Brien has been limited to one appearance this season for the Rapids. You might remember it for O'Brien's clumsy challenge on Carlos Ruiz that sidelined the LA Galaxy forward for months. O'Brien earned a red card that day, giving him a red card-per-game average that not Dema Kovalenko and Amado Guevara could only dream of.

The loan was a classy move by Clavijo, who wasn't getting O'Brien minutes with the first team in Colorado and saw a chance to help out former teammate and current Seattle head coach Brian Schmetzer.

Earthquakes clawing back into the West race

I know I said a few weeks ago that San Jose had no chance of making the playoffs. Well, I still think the mountain is too steep to climb, but the Earthquakes are making it interesting.

Unbeaten in four matches (1-0-3) San Jose's revamped squad won't have it easy, but the push for a post-season berth has a glimmer of hope as the Earthquakes sit five points behind the Galaxy for the final playoff spot with 11 matches to play (it should also be noted that Chivas USA would qualify for the playoffs ahead of LA if the season ended today based on points-per-game. Chivas USA has two games in hand on LA but just one fewer point).

Here are the team's San Jose must try to pass to reach that final playoff spot:

Los Angeles Galaxy 23 points (19 games)
Chivas USA 22 points (17)
Toronto FC 22 points (18)
Kansas City Wizards 22 points (18)
New York Red Bulls 22 points (18)
Colorado Rapids 21 points (18)
San Jose Earthquakes 18 points (19)

They don't exactly have an easy schedule, but seven home games in the final 11 matches has to give San Jose some hope. With six matches against teams in the race for that final playoff spot, the Earthquakes will have an outside chance of clawing their way into the playoffs. At the very least, San Jose is going to be a major thorn in the sides of teams trying to qualify.

I am not a big van Der Vaart fan, but i guess he can fill the role while Wesley is out and also be his backup when he returns, giving Guti, the eternal promise, some competition. Other than that I think the team should stay put, it really doesn't need anything in particular. Hopefully they have forgot about Ronaldo by now.

Question for MLS fans... Have any of you guys heard anything about Monaco's interest in Segares?

They can get a little samey so I don't listen to their albums on their own, but yeah I tend to separate them from the pack too. (Not that the other bands Erik linked suck, I like Eisley and Mirah.)

First I've heard of it. Their new American owner has been making overtures towards Adu (who's on loan there now) and Bradley (just rumored so far), so he has an idea what's going on with Americans and probably MLS by association. Outdoor Miner would be a better one to ask as he's on top of Chicago's dealings.

I like the blond one better.

Let's see how long it takes (if ever) for a mod to notice 'something' in the first pic that's not allowed by the TOS. ;)

Btw, apparently Alcides is leaving us since he's been sold to another club (not know which yet) by Chelsea. Can't say I'm disappointed, he's been pure crap 90% of the time. The other 10% though, he was downright atrocious.

Why would the opposite award be about looks...

Moving on, Skrtl looks like he's picked up a groin injury but should be available for the 3rd round CL match.

Chelsea aren't even going to make the top 3 this season, mark my words.

Plus Stockport County going for another promotion this year.

He'll stay, unfortunately.

Back to West Ham being a joke.

Today they retired the number 6 shirt used by Bobby Moore, why? I have no reason its near 50 years since he wore it I guess but he died back in 1993.

Joke club. Sorry.

it's hard to say. United don't want to let him go, but I don't think Ronaldo wants to stay. At all.

He'll probably get his way in the end.

So what?

He signed a long-term, binding contract, the power remains with the club, the club don't want to sell...

I just don't see how he could possibly leave this season, maybe next year or more likely in 3/4 years when he can buy the remainder of his contract out, but not now.

you say this now but when it comes down to it your owners are going to look at it from a financial standpoint. Can they get as much productivity out of him if he doesn't want to stay at the club? no. will we be able to sell him for £100m or whatever his tag is next season? Probably not.

True, and I remember reading an article whereby Ronaldo's merchandising power etc was estimated to be more valuble to the club over the course of his contract than the figures being branded about by Real (around £65 million).

Obviously he will go eventually and there will be a trade-off between both clubs as his price tag will diminish, he will get older and we will have had (imo) the best out of him at United.

It's a tricky situation but again the power remains with the club and financially it is better to keep him for the time being, not even taking into account on the pitch performance by the team.

This is the third time I've said something similar to this,

First off, the Glazers got DeLoitte to carry out a valuation on him back in March, and they concluded that it would a loss to sell him for a one off fee in the region of £50-100 million pounds due to his great merchandinsing potential would be 5x greater than any fee, the Ronaldo 'CR7' range is already huge.

Secondly, he has signed a contract up until 2012, he is in no position to ask for a move, if he trys to use the new FIFA clauses to get out, we can send the case to arbitration where he will not be able to play football for up 9 months until the verdict.

And to people saying he wants to leave, then why has he not clearly come and said that he wants to go to Madrid and formally hand in a written transfer request? He has had ample opportunity too. Practically all the 'quotes and interviews' you've read over this summer are bull-shit, Marca and AS, Reals mouthpiece, are trying to destabilize Ronaldo so he can come out and hand in a transfer request so they can buy him at a considerably lower price. As for the English press, they need to sell papers too in a summer in which we haven't participated in Euro 2008, look at those quotes that Fergie supposedly said about Berbatov in The Sun that turned out to be bullshit.

Fergie has said he has talked to Ronaldo and that talks were very good and Ronaldo will stay at United. I very much doubt he'd say that if he was going to go and has most likely been told by the Glazers that they will not sell.

I'm 99% sure he'll be a United player next season.

I'm 100 % sure he's still going to be a prick next season.

The chances of him leaving Manyoo are getting slim too.

If we was a crap player would he still be a prick?

Thierry Henry was more arrogant but I could still admire his skill as a player.

You would struggle to find a great player (especially in the modern era) who isn't a prick. I personally always liked Henry, he is arrogant and borderline cocky but that's good in some ways.

Scholes is the epitome of a footballer in every respect. :D
