Although I knew Halo was big, I have to put up my hand and say I wasn't aware just how big - GTA:SA still whups it in UK/Europe sales wise, but Halo 2 has performed a heck of amount better thena even the most generous estimations.

5million worldwide in one month? And still with a lot of Christmas presents to be bought...

edit: and also got an L.E. and a spent 50 bucks importing a mouse/kb adapter, and buying an annual xbox live sub, so if anyone would be reaching to justify their purchase of it, itd be me.

Well, it seems that with actual hard evidence now starting to trickle in, that the earlier reports were accurate. I'm glad that the game is doing this well. I never expected Halo 2 sales to be this large in the first month, in fact I never made a prediction either way, sooo...... no crow for me today, thank you. I still agree with Matlock that Halo 2's sales will be heavily front loaded, although does that really matter when you sell 3.6 million? It will be interesting to see if this is true come December NPD. I don't expect Halo 2 to "disapear" any time soon like some would argue, but anything less than 2 million in December would fullfill the front-loaded prediction IMO. :)

I think it is safe to say Halo 2 will be the game with the most front loaded sales ever. But in a case like this (Selling 3.6 million in one month) I don't think there is too much to complain about! :D

Yeah, no kidding. Even if sales fizzle out quickly, who gives a crap. "Ohhh boo hoo we only sold 5-6 million copies, I guess we have to kill ourselves."
