Seriously. :lol
Who doesn't know about the 4-3 and 3-4 by now?
It discusses the different techniques used at the DL. I pinched my DL so they were both consistently 2 technique to hold strong against the run. My FS was down in the box a lot and would be my free runner, the RE would crash the B gap and engage either the LG or LT. If LT, then my ROLB would be free to make a play on the run, if not my FS would handle it. I had major problems getting production out of my ROLB slot in season 3 and this solved it.
This is how I was able to stop tosses effectively. Most people would line up in either an offset I or an offset I with a WR in the slot. No problem with the FB because most would outrun him and the WR in the slot was occupied with the oncoming CB in man to man coverage. If it was a weakside toss I'd get my LB or S down, strongside I was there with my DE to try and stop it. That's why I needed an upgrade from Michael Johnson and also how my boy Davion Kelly ended up with so many tackles/ints. He was in underneath coverage almost 100% of the time.
Where I started running into trouble was against 1-2-2 sets because of the TE in as the extra blocker. I never adjusted, but what I should have done was attack the outside with the DEs, and if it's an inside run hope that the ROLB and MLB could wrap it up quickly.
