So... This is weird. Had to restart to load some drivers. When I restarted my monitor said no signal. Leaving it on, I plugged the hdmi cable into the TV and the log in screen popped up. I then moved the cable from the TV to the monitor and it was able to get the signal.

What the fuck?

Perfect. Trying to keep all this shit "free" and the monitor I have was $250. Looks like the lightning fried my external hard drive, monitor and .... (weep) keyboard

Ok so I am reformatting my 120gb SSD and going to make it just my system drive. I also have a 500GB ssd that is currently a clone of the old system drive. I'm going to move the files and folders I want to the 120GB then format it and make it my Steam drive.

Question: Is it possible to have steam games on different drives? I also have two 3TB barracudas that I could use for overflow games. Right now one is for media and the other is brand new. Does Steam Mover or whatever the fuck it's called allow you to do that?

EZ are you ever gonna start up a new character on DCUO? I wanna get into that but having never played an actual MMO, i have no clue what the fuck is going on.

Yep. I figure we could round up atleast 3 of 4 of us on here to start from scratch.

Oh rad, when did they add the other install folder option?! That kind of makes me want to just reinstall everything.

I ended up doing a fresh windows install on the 120gb just because. I had most of the stuff I cared about on different drives anyway. Now I just need to replace the keyboard and monitor and I'll be back up and running. Should be able to play some dotes tonight. Gotta get my 1900 mmr!

Back when the added 'big picture' mode.

Yeah, i think a fresh install when having a new mobo is really your safest bet to stay away from small annoying errors/glitches.

Some people use the SteamMover utility to swap whatever game they want to play onto their SSD, and when they're done, back to the HDD so they don't have to re-download when they want to play it again.

Thanks! I had no idea. That's been my biggest complaint forever and no one ever shouted from the rooftops that they had fixed it so I assumed it had gone unfixed.

Does it still force all the saves and everything to the C: drive?

yeah, saves will end up where-ever that particular game looks to throw them. Most seem to be in 'c:my documents', 'c:my documents\games'

my current SteamLibrary on M: is 237GB

And have about 690MB of save file folders on the SSD. Kind of silly, games should save in their own game folder, damn it.

Yeah, it sucks. Especially when dealing with small dedicated system drives which is generally what I like to do. And some games are unoptimized as all fuck in terms of how they deal with their saves. I think at one point my Witcher saved games folder was like 13 gigs. That was pre big-patch, pre steam and everything and I've never seen another game that bad but some totally do come close...like NBA2K on PS4.

I never played original Witcher. Have Witcher 2, but just couldn't get into it.
Need to give it another shot sometime.

Inside my 'my documents', I had to create a separate 'Personal Documents' folder, because different game folders were taking it over and I didn't fee like looking at folder after folder try to find the one I actually needed.

I have tried to start and get into Witcher 2 3-4 times. Made some good progress in my last attempt, and then stopped. I get the hype... But then I don't get the hype

There for Witcher 3 though because graphics porn reasons

I think as soon as I get the replacement monitor I might run through it again with the new combat mod. I never did get around to trying that out.

Also need to play some battlefield with this 780. Maybe it will actually run.

I think my 360 is broken guys. I have one of the slim versions. The disc tray constantly opens. The damn thing wont stay shut. The disc tray on the dash board is stuck on 'opening' as well. I don't think I have a warranty on this thing either because I got it two years ago. I'll check when I get home. Has anyone heard of this error before? I just want to finish GTA V and play some other old school games when it comes to it.

Also, why did we stop playing Diablo 2?

I'm done with 360. I'll sell you mine if you want it. I have a 250GB S Model.

You'll be able to run BF4 at 1080P on Ultra settings and increase the quality scale to somewhere around 170 percent. You can turn AA off and super sample that shit and still average over 60FPS.

My next dilemma is whether to stay at 1080P or jump to 1440P with GSync. I really want to go to 1440P but there is a huge difference in price between the two monitors. The 1080P GSync from Asus will be $399 while the 1440P GSync will be $799. D:

That's generous bobby. I know how much you want to get rid of y.ours I'm trying to save this one because of all my save data and such. I could transfer the data to a flash drive but I want to see if I can get this fixed before I resort to buying a new/used console just for a few games. I hope I can open this sunuvabitch and fix it. It's stupid that the new consoles aren't backwards compatible.

Oh ok. Well I might just trade it in to Gamestop alongside my old Ipad and get an Xbro One, so let me know. I'll need one eventually anyway and with these trade ins I can get it for super cheap.

Not sure what games I'll get, if any. Maybe Dead Rising 3.

There are 4k monitors that will be on sale around that price.

I'm not going to run TRI SLI 790s like you will though. 4K will crush my performance.

I'd love to get a 4K monitor, but fear my games will take too big of a hit.

Yeah, I'm totally happy at 1080p. Basically I am terrified of running multiple cards.

Speaking of...what the hell should I do with my 770? It passed the microcenter diagnostics so it works totally fine and since i just got it as a replacement to the original one that fried it's only like a month old!

Anyone want it? I think it's selling for $380 now on newegg, I'd sell it for $300.

I had paypal refund me full amount for game and premium pass. Was so irritated with that shit. Every time I wanted to play, I'd be on for a little bit and the whole server would dump.

Originally I contacted EA, but they wouldn't refund. So I went the paypal route. EA said they'd ban my account if I did that, but they haven't so far. Hell, the game is still in my account, but I have absolutely no desire to play that hot mess.

I actually really like the game and have had no significant issues and it ran fine with the 770, I was just goofing. Now with a new processor, 16gb ram and a 780 I bet I'll get a tiny bit of a bump in performance!

Dell 4k 28" IPS $699

what card do you have again? Think you're really underestimating just how much power new cards have. At least 770+ or so. It has more graphical power than Wii U, PS4, and X1 combined.

At 4k you also don't really need AA which is usually what brings down performance.

GTX 780, but it is running OC in faster than Titan mode.

Bruh I played Tomb Raider in 4k and was still hitting 30fps. I played Crysis 3 there too. And that was because of the DVI 30hz limit at that res.

You would be totally fine at 4k. I was just pointing out at that price of the ASUS you could get a 4k monitor. Prices are dropping fast. 1440p is the new 1080p. That ASUS is sweet though.

When you guys deal with shitty ass cable companies like Time Warner that have 12 month agreements at expensive prices and then afterwards it will go to ridiculously expensive prices, do you guys usually call after a year and threaten to leave to get the same price?

Because fuck paying 85 bucks for the internet after paying 55 for 12 months...or paying 85 bucks, period

Heck yeah you call and threaten to switch services!

30FPS won't cut it for me. I actually prefer frame rate over resolution. I'd like both but if I have to choose it will be frame rate first. I think I need dat GSync in my life. I absolutely abhor screen tearing. It is my worst enemy of PC gaming.

Tradeoff for sure. I don't like it either but when you see what's on your screen at that res, you forget about it for a bit (if it's locked).

I thought I saw them say 4k gsync models would be possible. That would be GOAT.

Smokey, you know you want that 60FPS/4K life:

I didn't realize you can quad connect Nvidia cards. Go for 4 X 790! Not sure why 4XMSAA is being used at 4K. Love to see what the frame rate is at with it off.
