They are too confusing as it is right now, so here is how I'm going to solve this problem:

If you are in the opponents territory or directly at mid-field (The 50 Yard line), you can go for 4th downs. Doesn't matter if you are winning or losing. I would ask that you still play sim-ball in that situation, but the more I think of it the more you should be allowed to go for it on 4th and inches from the 33 even if you're winning, or on 4th and 8 from the 37 yard line, etc.

Hold on....now 4th down conversions are in play all game? We should at least have this exception not in play until after halftime...

I'm just of the mind that there is going to be a fair amount of drama given everybody's different perspective of what "sim-ball" is. To flip your scenario, I can see people getting pissed with a player up 20-7 going for it on 4th and 2. But hopefully the angry rants will subside given the rules are cut and dry now.

Dont get me wrong, I'm fine with the rule. That means I'll have even more chances to put up even more points which excites me a great deal!!

i dont get how you guys need all these damn rules. shouldnt it just be common sense? ive never had to look at the rules once as far as when to go on it on 4th down or not. Im pretty sure you guys are not retards, just think about it if an actual team would do it (sans satan's team) and make a judgment call.

shawn im not saying "GO FOR IT ON EVERY 4TH AND 2!"

this isn't saying "IF YOURE UP 30-0, GO FOR IT ON 4th AND 2!"

this is saying i still expect sim ball, but i can understand the thought of going for it on 4th down in "no mans" territory. i still expect you to have some respect for your opponent (i.e. i would never expect someone to be going for it consistently on 4th downs in a game in which they're winning in blowout fashion)

it shouldn't be hard to understand.

don't act like a douchebag when it comes to going for 4th downs. but i acknowledge the fact that there are instances in any given game that just didn't fit into the 4th down rules before. nothing has changed excpect i'm saying that i trust people will not abuse the rule.

I know im with you. i should have said i dont get why its so hard for other people to understand.

All you should have to put is

*Dont be a Douchebag, play 4th downs with real NFL Ball in mind*

fmt/cb- I get the intent of the rule, I don't need you to state the obvious about how players should conduct themselves. I'm just eager to see how effective it will be. I've always wanted simpler rules for 4th down, and this certainly beats the last policy. We're good fellas.

gg chris, couldn't get much going aside from one or two big plays. was pretty afraid of giving you the ball back in the 4th so I'm glad I was able to convert a bunch of third downs when i needed to.

yea i felt like I needed to hold the ball the entire time being up only four and I was trying to be cautious with grossman and my rustiness.

FUCK THAT....don't sit there and try and start some bullshit drama. Gonzalez caught all of 2 fucking passes all game. There was no fucking "cheese" or whatever you want to call it. You are just one of those fucking people who have to find some stupid shit to complain about in everything you do. Everything is unfair in your eyes. I was going to make a post that said good game, because I thought that it was a pretty good game. But no. You have to be the self absorbed little whiny ass bitch and say some shit about a couple of corner route passes to TG that were incomplete. FUCK YOU

GG Malley....that has to be the most sacks I've ever seen in any game of Madden. I think we had 17 between the two of us. It felt like your guys were all over Beck on just about every one of my passing plays...sometimes even without bringing the blitz.

Also, I think my guys must've been allergic to Marshawn Lynch in the 1st half because they couldn't touch him. Thanks for filling in, and GG again.

GB birdman, yea Marshawn or however his name is spelled, was like 2 plays away from being totally shutdown. it was a gg and i felt it slipping at the end, hopefully LJ can get back in time to join in on the sack party fun... lol ... I think we had like 20 total :lol
