I quit trying after I was manually rushed on a play action pass right up the middle and sacked.

Anyway, that happens to me a lot. There are many easy ways to beat this:
1. Run the ball right at the blitz
2. Screens
3. Sometimes draws, although it works better in real life than Madden
4. Shotgun
5. RB/FB swing outs
If PA isn't working, do something else. Don't quit the damn league!

The reason I haven't heard any complaints about that before, and haven't complained about it myself, is, I think, because there's no way to really tell if it's a run or a pass. It's one thing to be manually blitzed on a regular passing play..
You're manually allowed to use the front 4 no matter what, and if you're using a LB and see the fake handoff you're probably going to charge south. It does work a bit too effectively (I got sacked a few times on PA by the manually controlled DT in my final game) but what can you do

I'm not even pissed at Konex,he beat me and that one play in the long run didnt cause my DB's not to play D.I just hate the god damn game now.
I'd like to get rid of it when I can actually get some money for it.

I survived with the Bengals D last year... Rams D seems a little worse this year in some aspects (better in others). Makes me curious what life would be like playing with an elite D....

tell you what matrix. i will take over the bengals, and you can have the first place texans back
but honestly, there are times when the game conspires against you. you can't stop it. i had a play against MrBob last game where i was 1st and goal on the 3. i lineup in 5 wide. he is manually going to cover the slot receiver and before the snap he is in horrible position to cover the inside slant. i hike it and immediately throw. guess who picks the ball off? THE OUTSIDE CB! that's right, somehow in the span of .5 seconds the outside CB diagnosed that i was going to throw the inside slant to the slot receiver and managed to dash appox 10 yards to the inside for the interception. but i could only laugh!
while the game does screw you at times, it also rewards you for play sound football. yes, the ridiculous plays stick out in your mind, but you should always be in the game if you just play smart. i have won with the niners and texans and i do it by playing smart. look at my games. i don't think ive ever completely blown anyone out. no matter who i play, it is a relatively close game. take your punches in the first quarter and feel your opponent out, then manufacture some drives and put 14-24 points on the board, play solid D (let your opponent drive the length of the field if he must, no big plays), and you'll have a chance to win in the end. will the game make you fumble or you throw a ricockulous INT? maybe. but better than losing big!
p.s. i would prefer no one quit. i can't make you stay but come on dudes, don't take the alex smith route and quit on the league when the going gets rough! thats why i still play in the NBA 2k league even though i suck fucking nuts!

i'm lovin' the texans! it's nice to play with a new team and have new rivalries in the division.
