Problem is Wolf, when the season began Hab fans, pretty much all hockey analysts and magazines were saying "Stanley Cup Contender"

Fixed.

It's a disappointing season no doubt, no one would of expected that many injuries and disappointing seasons from some of our key players.

I'm alright with it though, we have a very young team with a lot of potential still to come, unlike the leafs who have nothing to show at all besides one player, Schenn.

Injuries? :lol Fuck I didn't think even the most die hard Hab fan would blame the season on injuries as opposed to having players as soft as a freshly ejaculated penis. Yes I said it again, because the analogy works very well for your team. Your players are soft, as soft as a penis that has finished squirting jizz.

someone post youtube link of said crazy guerin crosby goal please

Just check out the game hilights on NHL.com. There's a crappy video on youtube of the goal. Really, it wasn't that "crazy," but still a nice play.

Aw well, I don't even expect them to get passed the first round. The system Carb is playing with this guys just wont cut it. The habs are a skilled and fast team, they need to practice a puck possession system, not a freaking dump and chase system, we're not a big team for christ's sake...

I called it, as usual ;)

Carb is a good coach and he has a good system, but his system is not working with the Habs, so yeah, it was obvious it would come down to this.

It was just a question of time, I knew it.

Mr. Gainey

New coach in the off season and this time we don't need a rookie, please.

That joke of a coach went to the stanley cup finals 3 times and won the stanley cup during 4 seasons with Colorado.

That joke of a coach went to the playoffs with that horrible team that is the Atlanta Thrashers.

That joke of a coach is a great coach my friend.

He won't ever coach again for the montreal canadiens my friend, don't worry. He had his chance here before Pittsburgh, we knew he was shit before you guys.

a dead rat could have coached the avalanche to the cup with roy and sakic and bourque.

and i remember when the thrashers made the playoffs. i also recall them being unceremoniously thumped by the rangers and sinking right back to mediocrity next season.

hartley is a goon coach.

Something clearly happened. This a a coach that was nominated for the Jack Adams last year and he was at the All-Star Game this year. Either:

1) Carbo asked Gainey to step down.
2) Carbo totally lost the room and the players all came to Gainey to tell him, like the soldiers in Band of Brothers with Sobel.
3) Gainey somehow blames CArbo for the off-ice problems with the players.

:lol

So fitting with Carb fired. The last load has been launched and the season has been set to "refractory" stage.

The only thing I'm shocked about is Gainey not being canned along with Guy. That'll be the next firing in Hab land in the off season as I predicted earlier.

Gainey won't be fired, if he doesn't get good results by the end of this season, he's gonna resign himself. Gainey will know when it's time to leave, he won't be showed the door.

Here's another good call by Malakhov:

A good season for me would be the eastern finals, stanley cup finals would be great and stanley cup champs would be out of this world :)

I have a good feeling about this season though, we have a very special team with a good mix of veterans (Koivu/Kovalev/Tanguay/Lang) and youngsters (Plekanec, the Kost brothers, Higgins and Latendresse).

I love the Laraque acquisition, he will have a greater impact than everyone may think. I think his presence will affect the play of some players like Lapierre a whole lot. Watch Lapierre this season with Laraque, he'll be a fucking pest.

I also like our defence and I love our goaltending duo.

It should be very interesting :)

asking dangerous questions
I love how the shitiness of the Maple Leafs* has allowed Leafs fans to get all cocky when talking about other teams. Sure, they can fallback to the, "it's OK! We're rebuilding!" argument... but does that mean they've been rebuilding for the last half-decade? Team ain't going anywhere :lol

*or maybe not based on their play of late - no Tavares/Hedman for you!

I like how the leafs are playing their shittiest players and are still winning :lol Nothing goes right for that team.

What a disastrous season for the habs...

R_GILL

I'm tanking for Kabanov!
What the fuck Senators, score a fucking goal or something. We barely put out an NHL team out there today. It is basically Pavel Kubina and his shitty friends.

Hitman

Edmonton's milkshake attracts no boys.
Wow Carbo got canned and the Canadiens are 5th in the East and have been competing all seasons. They are even 5-4-1 in their last 10 which is not bad. See how easily coaches get canned in this league then watching Mactavish make blunder after blunder week in and week out for the last 7 years makes me a sad Oilers fan.

You guys are talking as if the Habs dropped out of a playoff spot, there's still some fighting left in the team.

Step 2: Complete

Playing Gerber tonight would have been an awful mistake. Dude probably would've wanted to show up Ottawa or something, might've played decent enough for a W. Gerber/Cujo 09

Leafs will have a better team than the Habs in two seasons. Save this post, the 2010/2011 season we'll be better than Montreal.

Luke Schenn counts as six; he can make up a defensive pairing by himself and play the entire game. Eventually he'll jump in on the rush more often so that'll be like seven.

And ever since Ron Wilson started hiding pineapples in the opposing team's net, Grabs' has been playing better. So really all we need is one more which we should be able to pick up in the next couple of years.
