Half-way through the final hour, and one trade has happened. :(

We'll be hearing about trades until 3:30 or 4pm.

Also, Guerin's contract is pro-rated, so the Pens will only need to pay him about 1.2 million. They've already saved a bunch with Gonchar being out for most of this season, so they've got the room. We basically gave up a pick for a veteran rental player. Not terrible.

Yeah, but it's gonna be a letdown imo. Be lucky if there's 20 trades.

I agree, but most of us knew this would happen. Deadline day is just TSN getting us hyped up for weeks in advance, and then having to watch the "expert panel" fumble for things to talk about as things move at a snail's pace.

St. Louis for Dupuis, Talbot, and Goligoski.

Not.

With the way the 3rd line has clicked recently, I'm glad we sent Satan down. When Crosby returns we will have 3 solid lines and a good "hustle" on the 4th line.

As for D, is Woz actually good? I don't know anything about him. Also, BRING BACK GOGO

It's clearly a buyer's market this year. Not enough team have the cap space do to anything big, so the competition for each player is nonexistant. Sellers do not get enough in return, so they wait.

Carcillo for Upshall/2nd

:lol Have to agree with Pang here. If there was ever a player MADE for a team, it would be Carcillo for the Flyers. He makes Downie look like Mother Theresa.

i hope the conditional is around 3/4. I'd like that.

Aaaaand that about wraps it up for the TSN webcast. Can't even get it started anymore.

I knew Philly was going to do something to piss me off today.

Upshall was arguably our best energy guy. And a 2nd??? Carcillo is not worth all of that.

This better be the first part of something else coming before the deadline...

Guerin's stats this season:

2 Bill Guerin NYI R 61 16 20 36 -15

Second on the Isles in scoring, and playing for the worst team in the league. Hope he'll make a positive impact. I'm cautiously optimistic about a 38 year old on our squad.

Pierre Maguire is such a freaking tool talking about Minnesota.

Those cross-state rivalry matches with Philly just got oh so much more entertaining for Pens fans.. (especially since Carcillo is from our system). Can't wait to see Godard (or more likely Biz Nasty) take him on.

Overpayment there though by Philly...

Pens have to be done. I'm glad we did not get rid of any roster players this year for our deals (outside of Whitney). I can live with the potential 3rd rounder for Guerin. And the Kunitz deal 3 days ago was awesome as well.

Good day for Shero not to get fleeced again.

Phoenix has done a pretty good job so far. Upshall, Lombardi, Proust, and a 1st and 2nd. If they can flip Reinprecht or Morris for some young kids, that'd be a haul for them today.

Yeah, I thought he played it pretty close to the vest this deadline, and I like what we got over the past week. Kunitz looks like he's more than an able replacement for Ryan Malone, and Guerin is a cheap gamble. Nothing crazy, and I'm okay with that. We'll have the offseason to tweak our blueline and forwards.

Now it's time to focus on the playoff race. We know who we have going forward, and must make do with our current lineup. If we make the playoffs, I actually like our chances in the East.

So Chris Neil didn't move, Moore didn't move, the Habs made no moves at all(although that's typical of the Habs), this was a very slow trade deadline indeed.

I'm extremely disappointed that Chris Kelly is still a Senator.

It's not over yet, some trades can still happens in the next hour since they are being process.

LOL!!

Duthie: The Montreal Canadiens?
Pierre: LOSERS.
Dreger: Well, they got Schneider. I like that deal.
Pierre: I'm talking about deadline day. Montreal LOST today.

Moore to Buffalo for a 2nd.

Eric Christianson (or however the hell his name is spelled) traded from the Thrashers to the Ducks for a prospect

Biggest winners of the day, Flames and Leafs. Flames going for it, nice additions to their team. Brian Burke once again proves his worth, getting back huge value for his assets. The genius works his magic and sets the Leafs rebuilding process to full steam ahead. Who else could have done these deals? Who? Nobody! Man oh man we are in great hands for the next 5 years.

Biggest loser of the day, no surprise here, Bob Gainey and the Habs. 100th season, the supposed push for a Cup and they do nothing. Gainey will be fired soon after the Habs season ends, sometime in late April / early May. Enjoy Hab fans! Prediction for next Habs GM, Guy Lapointe.
