If I had to choose one NFC East rival to hate the most, it would be the Eagles. They were/are a bunch of cheap shotting motherfuckers. Trotter was the dirtiest player of them all, followed closely behind by Brian Dawkins. Ike Hilliard was never the same after Dawkins suplexed him. I thought I changed the channel and was watching WWF.
.. ummm Jon Runyan says hi?

It's not like it is an isolated incident; Philly has a history of crass behavior -- like when Owens was hospitalized after an overdose. Yeah, Owens was an asshole when he left Philly, but that is beyond cold blooded. I know there are drunk fans everywhere, but that is the impetus behind my dislike for Philly.

what did philly do after he overdosed?

better yet what did the fans here do. fans of every team? made fun of it. nothing different. same thing last playoffs when TO cried.

whatever im sure some fans take on the image but to the magnitude its exaggerated by sports journalists is ridiculous.

also wellington dawkins is not known for cheap shots. name me one other hit that could even be questionable? he is a hard hitter but a very well respected legal hitter.

its not like he is roy williams...dragging ppl down from the neck.

and trotter? this is the first im hearing of a cheap shot artist and trotter.

each of the teams have their share of a holes though. shockey was no classy gentleman himself.

BTW, NFLN is reshowing the super bowl. Man I forgot how badly Brady got brutalized in that game. Tuck just levelled him in the middle of the second quarter.

give me a break dude. i know cowboys fans who were cheering and laughing when young was put out of commission for his career. i know cowboys fans who laughed when B.Y. broke his leg on national TV, etc etc.

a fanbase as a whole aren't scumbags. but every fanbase has assholes or people who cheer at others misfortunes (like me!)

According to ProFootballTalk.com, Tatum Bell made off with Rudi Johnson's bags Monday while Rudi was in Matt Millen's office.
Seriously. Upon finding the items missing, the Lions checked video surveillance and found Bell doing his best cookie crook impression. Bell took the bags to a female acquaintance and asked her to keep them for awhile. Johnson has since retrieved the bags and charges will not be pressed. No word yet on whether Bell fumbled the leather items as he made his way down the crowded hallway.

I've been hearing it's a 6th rounder, still, not much difference. So that means one of Tomlin's first moves as a head coach was an admitted failure. Just hope Hartwig doesn't suffer the same fate. What I think sucks is that they didn't consider moving Mahan to somewhere else on the line, where he'd be a more natural fit. They gave him one season to change to a center and then said, "ah, fuck it, you suck."
Mahan was really bad at center dude. I don't know if he can be a starting center. The guy was getting destroyed on a weekly basis and I don't know how you can run any kind of consistent offense when you can't even block the guys in the middle.

Pro Football Prospectus had something funny to say about him in there book. When my friend gives it back to me I'll post their comment if anybody still cares about this bum.

I know, but the dude was a guard in Tampa. At some point last year, or during this year's offseason, maybe somebody should have said, "Gee, maybe we should move this guy back to guard, he sucks at center." It's not like the Steelers are overflowing with starting talent on the line, or even have solid backups for that matter. He could have competed at guard instead of wasting another preseason competing at center. Instead they ship him out for a 6th or 7th rounder....draft spots that the Steelers have gotten ZIPPO out of in the last 5 years or so. The only thing I figure is that Mahan became disgruntled after losing the starting center job and Tomlin nipped it in the bud by dealing him. Make no mistake, I'm glad he's not the starting center, but in essence, they did nothing but waste their time and money with him.

this shows what a fuckin bum Tatum Bell has been in Detroit. Dude blends into the surroundings so bad that he starts committing crimes just like everyone else in Detroit. If they hadn't cut him then he'd start rapping by October.

Bell gained more yardage with Rudi's bags than he has in two seasons as a "starter" on the field. The office door is the biggest hole he's seen in two years to run through.

This is also the first time that Millen has ever kept himself from being fleeced. Rumor has it he was happy though cuz that's the first time in 4 years that Rudi Johnson was seen without extra baggage...

...should I go on?

As a Pats fan, I'm not particularly hopeful about this upcoming season. You'll be happy to hear I'm still miserable after they cancelled the Super Bowl last year.

I got tickets for tomorrow's game!

Good news for Skins fans, last game I went to was the last Giants/Skins game at the Meadowlands in which we got destroyed.

Believe in Thomas Brady. Bad wheel or not, he'll find a way to wash away the pain of that horrifying night in all his sexy glory.

And if nothing else, we can just sit back and LOL at the impending hilarity of the Jets' failure.

The game where Shockey broke his leg? Hmm, let's ask the Magic 8-Ball if the Giants will suffer any season-ending injuries tomorrow night:

Dammit.

Although can you imagine....can you imagine if Favre were to take the Jets above the Patriots? I don't know if ESPN would just explode or not.

I don't want to imagine a world where that happens.

Have fun with traffic. That place is going to be a MESS. I was just at IZOD for a concert and the whole area is construction central, I don't even want to imagine what it's going to be like during rush hour on a Thursday.

Nice, got the Philly game for this sunday.

Skins/Giants is a real toss up. The Giants pass rush will be the difference one way or the other I think. Despite injuries if its up to its usual strength I see the Skins losing...

But if they can't get much pressure on Campbell I think the Skins could take it.

Favre isn't taking the Jets anywhere. IF the Jets go places, it'll be because Mangini returns to his '06 style of play calling combined with the maturing of talent already on the team as well as the quality off-season acquisitions. Favre under center would be just as good as Clemens, we're two injured QB's away from the real Jets future, Brett Ratliff.

R.I.P. Chad's Jets days.

and P.S. fuck the Patriots.

Jets are already above the Pats. They exposed the Pats as dirty cheaters and moral high ground trumps any record column.

They also triggered the Pats' innate FU sensibilities, leading to a the swirling clasp of karma and hampered cheating that lost the Super Bowl.

...so should I start Derek Anderson or David Garrard this week?

I went to a couple of games last season as well as the Jets/Giants preseason game, I'll be fine. I always get there early enough to avoid traffic, and the sweet taste of victory while listening to Chris Carlin and Bob Poppa on the way home will keep me happy in traffic.

Well let's put it this way. I went to that game, the Giants lost. Every Yankee game I went to this year, they lost. I would say that with me in attendance it will be a laugher for the Skins.

To be fair, "moral high ground" doesn't come in ring form.

thank god fox is showing a doube header. usually with a CBS jets game, fox doesnt show 2 games here in nyc.

now i get to watch the eagles beat the crap out of the rams.

Had my draft for a 12 team league last night. Don't really know what to think of it right now it could pay off for me but I could crash and burn.

QB: Kitna, Garrard
HB: Marion Barber, Matt Forte, Rashard Mendenhall
WR: Andre Johnson, Dwayne Boewe, Anthony Gonzalez, Devin Hester
TE: Alge Crumpler, Anthony Fasano
K: Josh Brown, Jason Elam
TDEF: Jacksonville, Tennessee

Goddamnit, Fox. The whole west coast gets to see Buffalo beat Seattle except for a tiny sliver around Los Angeles. Los Angeles says Fuck You.

Ooo, even better, what if Pennington leads the Dolphins over Favre AND Brady.:lol
That would be so awesome!

Seeing noodlearm slaying the slanger and the Dark Lord would be up there with last years Superbowl on the awesome scale.

I might be harsh, but the guy had so many chances to prove himself and never did. If you can't prove yourself in the NFL in a seaosn or two, chances are you never will. Mahan had so many chances to make an impact but always failed to do anything whenever he was given the opportunity. I am actually pretty amazed Ben played as good as he did last year considering so much pressure was coming right into his face. And

I agree that it was a waste of timeand , but to me the mistake wasn't him finding the right position but the fact that he just sucked. They never should have brought him in. I don't see how Mahan can start on any squad. He doesn't react well to speed or power so I don't see the point of him other than as a backup.

The 7th rounder was pretty worthless, but so is Mahan. I am sure there are better backups out there than him and for less money.

And just like that the Texans have Bell in for a workout today.

And you were supposed to come down here to watch the game week 3 last year to watch the Giants game, but didn't. And then they won! Hmmm.....
