I will say NFC East is the toughest division, because that's the truth, but I will be rooting against the Cowgirls.

Exactly. I won't be rooting for the Bucs to win, but if they were to stomp out a team like Seattle I would be the first one to let everyone in the NFC West that they're just a powder puff conference when compared to any of the explosive teams from the Dirty South.

Completely separate note, just won two tickets through work to the Bills vs Seattle game. First non-skins game NFL game I've been to, hopefully it won't disappoint. So far I've only been to two NFL games, Skins vs Chargers overtime game in 05 and Skins vs Carolina in 06. Both were amazing (well the first ones ending wasn't, but the rest of it was).

I've only been to one other NFL non-Redskins game, 2007's Ravens-Colts playoff game. What a fucking boring game. But the Ravens' M&T Bank Stadium is awesome, waaaay better than FedEx Field, which needs a Jumbotron badly. At least they're doing replays and running league-wide real-time scores more often now...*sigh*

Yeah not having a Jumbotron at Fedex is unacceptable. The replays and no scores thing really made me mad as well, although I think it was better at the Carolina game. Every off season there seems to be a rumor about a jumbotron for fedex, but still nothing. You going to the Giants Skins (Fedex) game this year? I'll be flying in to goto that one.

LiveWire said:
I'd cheer for the Pats in that case. Fuck the Cowboys, now and forever. If people think the rise of bandwagon Patriots fans after their SuperBowl wins was bad, it's not even close to the Cowboys. They invented the bandwagon fan.
I never get this shit we haven't won a damn thing since 95 and yet everyone calls Dallas fans bandwagoners. Now that we actually have a team again and something to talk about people get pissy about it and throw the bandwagon card out.

Yep, I have season tix again so I'll be there. As the date gets closer, let me know what your plans are, one of my friends always has a big 15-20 person tailgate if you'd like to join in the festivities.

I could never root for Dallas to win anything. I hate 98% of their fan base. :lol

I did root for the Giants, I don't hate them as much as Dallas or Philly. Their fans have been pretty even keel IMO.

I like Philly as a team, very respectable coach and players. I hate the fans. They talk all that shit and don't have a got damn thing to show for it. So what our last Lombardi came in the 80's at least we got one. Bastards. :lol :lol

Zeke said:
Well atleast we agree on the East being the toughest division. So you would cheer for the pats if Dallas played them in the super bowl thats cold blooded?
Yes. Fuck the Cowboys.

I'd never root for Dallas or Philly for that matter. I did root for NY last year though. A dallas vs NE super bowl would probably be the first super bowl I missed.

Order of Hate:
1: Dallas
.
.
.
.
.
Way 2nd: NE
3rd: Philly (maybe even tied)
.
.
4th: NYG

You must not like your team too much.

Hater order:

1. Dallas, Philly, Wash (Three way tie)
2. Rest of NFL

There we go!

Look my hate for my NFC East rivals burns hotter than the surface of the sun. However over the past two seasons we have had three teams in the playoffs. Further, within the span of two years, all four teams in the division have been to the playoffs, and three of those four teams have one at least one playoff game. That is not going to happen any time soon in any other division. (Even the AFC South, because the Titans suck)

"America's Team"? Come on.....That's why many consider Cowboys fans bandwagoners, because their numbers grow so immensely when they're really good, but when they suck, you don't hear a peep. Redskins fans are fans through thick and thin (and since our last SuperBowl it's been a lot of thin, same with the Giants, same with the Eagles). You also don't see average NFL fans around the country wearing Giants gear all of a sudden because they won the SuperBowl either. But if the Cowboys win it this year you'll see fucking stars everywhere.

Is the bold at me or Zeke? I only rooted for NYG over the Pats. Trust me its not something I enjoyed doing.

summed it up nicely.

Yes. I love my team so much I hate their division rivals more than anything else in the league.

I don't care what division the Pats play in, they are a abomination. I updated my original post to make it more clear that I only rooted for the Giants vs the Pats. Trust me though my hate for the division rivals is quite strong, I just don't equally hate them. As someone else said I tend to see Giants fans as more even keeled than the other two teams, although as this conversation goes on the hate for the Giants is growing

Fuck the Giants! It took a miracle for them to win. When we win our SuperBowls, we fucking destroy teams. I'm thinking it's gonna be a blowout Thursday night, Redskins by at least 3 touchdowns. And any Giants fans up for an avatar bet are welcome.

well when your team sucks there isn't much to talk about aside from bitching at the front office, the coaches, and players. Hey the gailey and campo years sucked there wasn't anything really worth remembering.

except even when the cowboys were shitty, there were sellouts and the cowboys were still like in the top 3 in biggest fanbases. you're deluding yourself if you don't think the cowboys have maintained a huge level of popularity throughout the decades, even when they suck.

is there a bump in popularity when the cowboys are really good? sure. that's what happens with every team.

colts and patriots have the biggest bandwagons, and the giants have the worst bandwagon fans (amirox)

Most football fans are annoying when their team is beating your team. And every team has bandwagoners jumping on when things are going well. Hell, there were even some bandwagon Steeler fans on GAF after that 15-1 season and the Superbowl.

For very obvious reasons, lately the most annoying fans for me are from Boston. None of those assholes cheered for the Celtics before this year and nobody gave a damn about the Pats before they cheated their way to some SBs.

cowboys suck ass. all of their championships are fraudulent, their owner is a joke, i can't stand their players, i can't stand their logo, i can't stand anything about the cowboys and that is why i will be eternally greatful to the giants of last season: they defeated the cocky cowboys (delicious bitter tears), defeated the favres (delicious bitter tears), and finally defeated the pats (delicious bitter tears).

although i must dislike every NFC team, there is a special place in my black heart for the cowboys. can't wait to see them fail this year!

god, i can't wait to play the niners later this year. hopefully, by that time, alex smith has won the starting job back only to retire after losing to dallas 52-0

Cry me a river. :lol

PS: I fucking HATE the Niners too.

Zeke said:
not our fault Jerry knows to handle business and run a team
The success of a team is so dependent on the owner. Have the Niners done anything of note since Debartalo was forced out? When you have an idiot or cheap owner, the success of the team is going to totally depend on luck.

I never get this either Dallas is cocky or arrogant where does this shit come from? The only person that talked any sort of shit last season was Crayton. The team, fans, and his mom all wanted him to shut up and just play. Some people act like Romo or Barber are out there just running their mouths about other teams.

listen guys, i've got vernon davis and marion barber on my fantasy team, so you guys are gona have to learn to get along.

what have the cowboys backed it up with? they haven't won a playoff game in like 12 years :lol

p.s. 52 receptions by a TE in a horrible offense actually aren't bad numbers

what a joke of a theory. you only resort to that because your team has been garbage for a long time.

"ohh yeah but we won a superbowl in ______"

i look forward to you bringing that up when the eagles sweep the redskins this season.

and yes the NFC EAST is the toughest division. and yes i could never ever root for the cowboys, redskins, or giants.

unless they are playing against each other and one of them winning can mean something positive for the eagles.

SI says to watch out for the browns

:bow SI for giving the bengals/ravens a chance. now they just need to call the steelers a lock to win the super bowl.

kind of hard to do when you read stuff like this

QB Derek Anderson (concussion) -- Practiced Monday and is expected to start.

WR Braylon Edwards (foot) -- Practiced Monday and is expected to start.

LB Willie McGinest (groin) -- Practiced Monday.

S Sean Jones (knee) -- Returned to practice on limited basis.

OG Ryan Tucker (hip) -- Returned to practice on limited basis.

WR/KR/PR Josh Cribbs (high ankle sprain) -- Participated in walkthrough, but doubtful for season opener.

RG Rex Hadnot (knee) -- Did not practice.

FS Brodney Pool (concussion) -- Did not practice.

TE Martin Rucker (knee) -- Did not practice.

RB Jamal Lewis (hamstring) -- Did not practice.

it's pretty much just crayton. and no, he didn't back it up against the giants
I would personally thank him for slowing down on what would have been a sure TD pass if he just kept running. The postseason would have been totally different after that play.

no. he would have just dropped it like he did earlier on that romo improv play

Steelers traded Sean Mahan to the Bucs for a 7th rounder. I don't know if that's an upgrade or a downgrade.

I've been hearing it's a 6th rounder, still, not much difference. So that means one of Tomlin's first moves as a head coach was an admitted failure. Just hope Hartwig doesn't suffer the same fate. What I think sucks is that they didn't consider moving Mahan to somewhere else on the line, where he'd be a more natural fit. They gave him one season to change to a center and then said, "ah, fuck it, you suck."

In response to the NFC East discussion

I hate the fucking Eagles more than any team in existence. I can't even listen to Hotel California because of it. The fan response when Irvin broke his neck was classless and totally out of line. Say what you will about Cowboys fans, but we would never cheer when someone breaks their neck on the field. The Redskins and Giants have their own place on my hated list, but that is driven more by competition and rivalry. The Eagles just continuously demonstrate how classless they are and seem to celebrate it.

Jerry Jones gets a lot of flack, but he will do what it takes to make the team competitive. He celebrates his team and takes care of his players that take care of him. He has made some boneheaded mistakes, but the Cowboys would not have 5 rings without him.

P.S. Fuck the Eagles.

EDIT: I have never had a problem with the Philly fans on this board, this is more of a generality. So no personal offense is intended to ColdBlooded, Effzee & Co.

well im glad you hate the eagles the most. we hate the cowboys the most.

but drunk fans are everywhere. and regardless of what lazy ass reporters from ESPN try to say philly is not the only fan base to cheer when someone got hurt (pennington just last yr with the jets), throw stuff onto the field, or even boo on their own team/players.

its just some exaggerated story which gets associated with philly so every time a reporter has to hype up a game they can bring it up.

3 rings. He took over ownership in 1989 from Bum Bright.

And speaking of Jerry, this just came out yesterday:

Meaning they wouldn't have won the three with Jerry, thus only have two. I'm aware Jerry isn't the original owner. I remember the controversy when he fired Landry and Johnson traded Walker.

It's not like it is an isolated incident; Philly has a history of crass behavior -- like when Owens was hospitalized after an overdose. Yeah, Owens was an asshole when he left Philly, but that is beyond cold blooded. I know there are drunk fans everywhere, but that is the impetus behind my dislike for Philly.

I was just going off ESPN's ticker while I was watching PTI. they probably already revised it if it's changed.

If I had to choose one NFC East rival to hate the most, it would be the Eagles. They were/are a bunch of cheap shotting motherfuckers. Trotter was the dirtiest player of them all, followed closely behind by Brian Dawkins. Ike Hilliard was never the same after Dawkins suplexed him. I thought I changed the channel and was watching WWF.
