If I had the power to call off the bet I would. Bish is pretty strict on these things and sticks to the code that your word is your word. I'm willing to forgo the bet and leave Wolf alone. Both the Leafs and the Habs were equally sucky all year at times so what can I say?

Bish, if you have the power don't ban Wolf over the bet, he's ok in my book.

I'm drunk but not down. We are waiting on 1 more couple before we start the poker, and I just thought I'd get some posts in beofre by ban. Hey, I've seen the Habs win the cup in my lifetime, so I'm never really as bitter as I should be when they are eliminated....year in and year out since '93:lol

Yeah. Huet had a good game in the first 2 periods, especially the first one. But still, we played like morons. I'm really ashamed of the way the team played the last 2 games. Koivu should be traded this summer against anything, really. Kovalev, we'll have trouble getting anything back from. I'm speaking under the frustration right now, but still, I'd buy back Kovy and Samsonov's contract, not sign any of the FA except Souray and Markov if we're able to, and sign Brière and whoever else we can buy back and rely on our kids, which were again admittedly the best part of the team. Ryder, Higgins, and some others.

Which goal are you talking about? Raycroft had arguably the worst night I've seen for a goalie in a long while.

Damn. Entertaining game from the Habs and Leafs. I was hoping for Montreal to score when they had their goalie pulled, forcing Toronto to pull their goalie. I'm just a fan of ridiculous situations.

And speaking of ridiculous situations ... second period about to start.

Just a little fact:

Until the begining of this season only Mike Bossy and Peter Forsberg has had a point per game average per season since rookie > final year.

Bossy is now the only one on the list.

I don't know if I'd call it an achilles heel. Their special teams are average - it just stands out because they are so good otherwise.

Oh man the private box was awesome. We were in there with a bunch of Habs fans, was great the whole night.
This is the closest I'll ever be to a playoff game in my life.

well, all in all, an excellent day of hockey, it was nice to just be able to take in some games for the whole day, quite relaxing, and hey the giants won too!

Caught hilights of the Pens game. Fleury made some pretty sweet looking stops tonight. Damn. 40 wins on the year! He's been superb his past 2 starts, which I hope will bode well for the playoffs. C'mon Pens...a buddy of mine thinks there is NO way that Pittsburgh will beat Ottawa in the first round, but I'm not so convinced.

Pens and Sens is a toss-up. The Pens are dangerous but their inexperience will get the best of them eventually whether it's in the first round or if they make it to the Conference Finals to face Buffalo. Getting Roberts works out even better now that the Pens are facing Ottawa in the playoffs. I think it will go six or seven games and the Pens will squeak out a series win. Sooner or later they're going to run into Buffalo and it ends there. Now that they're healthy, it's unbelievable how stacked that team is.

for the record i like the habs more than the leafs, but i wanted to see buffalo/leafs more than the alternative, so i didn't cheer for either team and just wanted it to be an entertaining game, and **** if it wasn't

Maurice said the decision to go to backup J.S. Aubin was more about trying to reverse the flow of the game than Raycroft's play specifically, although the coach admitted he started thinking about yanking Raycroft after the second goal.

If the Islanders lose Sunday, Maurice will face an interesting dilemma regarding his starting goalie in the playoffs. Although Leafs players rallied around Raycroft -- indeed, seeming to make a special show of hugging him in the postgame celebration on the ice -- his performance down the stretch raises serious questions about his ability to handle the pressure.

In three of his last four starts, against the New York Rangers, the Islanders and Saturday's contest against the Habs, Raycroft has been pulled twice while giving up 12 goals on 62 shots. That kind of goaltending against the high-octane Sabres is a recipe for disaster.

The problem is that Aubin, who allowed one goal on six shots in relief Saturday, isn't particularly well-regarded by the Leafs organization.

"We're going to get to that when we get to that," Maurice said of any potential goaltending controversy.

so barrage, you up for making an avatar bet? i don't want to do a banning bet since i'll still want to talk about the playoffs even if the canucks get eliminated in any round, but what say you to loser of the van/dal series has to use an avatar made by the winner for the rest of the playoffs (and has to continue posting in this thread)?
