Sweet, thanks.

I've been hearing from everyone that this is a "weak" draft year. Is this Angelo Esposito kid an impact player? Or is this going to be another case of Patrik Stefan? I don't even know who else there is in this draft.

Esposito's attitude is not mature enough to be a big player right now, and I doubt it's gonna change. He's not there every night, a la Kovalev.

I'm tanking for Kabanov!

Espositos stock has fallen off big time since the beginning of the year. It's like last years draft and Frolik. He probably doesn't deserve to go until the 20's but someone will probably take a chance with him earlier due to his skill. The #1 pick is probably going to be Kane who dominated the OHL this year.

Top 5 picks will probably be, in no specific order: Kane, Turris, Voracek, Cherapanov, Alzner.

3 scenarios tonight:

- Leafs lose, Habs win - Leafs are done
- Leafs lose or win and Habs do the same - Saturday decides things
- Leafs win and Habs lose - Saturday decides thing

Oh, drama!

I totally forgot about Patrick Kane. That guy looked damn good at the World Jr's.

Sad that the only thing I'm excited about in the next few months is the draft. :(

Oh, drama!

if montreal wins in regulation tonight (and toronto wins) and loses on saturday... montreals deciding game will be Pittsburgh vs NYR on sunday.

Ah yes, scenrario #4, aka the backdoor sneak.

Heck, Leafs still have an outside shot at 6th place too :lol

EDIT:

Wow, looks like the Sabres will be the only team that scores 300+ goals and Philly will be the only team that allows 300+ goals. Pretty scary considering a couple of teams might not even get to 200 goals scored or 200 goals allowed...

Raycroft is one those money goaltenders that other teams fear come playoff time, i'm glad we have him on the Leafs in times like these.

Pit vs NYR is on Saturday.

How about this scenario:

NYI beats Toronto (tonight) and Philly (saturday).

Montreal loses to NYR (tonight) and loses to Toronto (saturday*).

NYI beats NJ (sunday) and gets the eighth seed.

Islanders' Ice Girls claim abuse by Rangers

Two New York Islanders Ice Girls were hoping to penalize members of the New York Rangers for slashing, spitting and verbal abuse during television timeouts in the first period of Tuesday's game at Nassau Coliseum.

The NHL says it has reviewed the incident and, as far as the league is concerned, the case is closed.

"We were made aware of the situation right after the game in question," NHL executive vice president Colin Campbell told TSN. "We investigated it, talked with the officials and both teams and we determined there were no grounds to pursue it any further. It's a closed matter as far as we are concerned. We don't have to respond to what's in today's newspapers because we've already responded to it."

A report in New York newspaper Newsday reveals that the girls were cleaning loose ice in the blue-painted goaltender's crease when Rangers goaltender Henrik Lundqvist refused to move and used his stick to hit the squeegee used to push the snow during the first TV timeout, knocking the butt end into her stomach.

"The tip of my squeegee kind of hit the tip of his stick," Kelli Higgins told Newsday. "I don't know if he thought I did that on purpose or whatever, but he took a big windup and slashed the squeegee pretty good. It startled me a little bit. It didn't feel great, but I wouldn't say I was injured or in a ton of pain. I was shocked."

During the second TV timeout, Higgins alternated jobs with another Ice Girl, Chanel Benson, who claimed she was spit on as she was leaving the ice.

"All of a sudden, my back got wet," Benson told Newsday. "I believe one of the Rangers players who was sitting along the wall spit on my back. It had to be on purpose because I wasn't directly in front of anyone to spit and not realize I was there."

During a third TV timeout, both referees and one linesman made Lundqvist move to allow Higgins to shovel the snow out. Higgins said both Lundqvist and Rangers forward Sean Avery were using curse words "that had to do with us going around with the squeegee."

Lundqvist told reporters on Wednesday before learning of the allegations that he prefers to remain in the crease to maintain concentration during breaks.

He has a career GAA of 2.14 with a save percentage of .924. You're on the ball Manics...

Join a playoff pool, it makes watching them more fun. As a Canucks fan last year, trust me.

except when no one in the pool took an Oiler and they subsequently kept ****ing everyone over :lol

Huh? The NHL has a draft?

Oh...so that's what all those picks we gave up were for....

Oh well. I'm sure 29 teams will enjoy that day. :(

GO HABS GO
With some hard work and a little help Montreal can clinch tonight. It's going to be one awesome night of hockey.

Yeah, this is on the frontpage of Newsday today. I cant say I blame Lunqvist, he likes to mainain strict concentration at all times and those girls were probably getting to him.

PS Im going to the Rangers game tonight to see them put Montreal out of their misery tonight. And unlike last week, the above statement is true.

Dear Jason Spezza,

We were worried we might go into the second period being down a goal. Thanks to you, we're now leading by a goal. (Thanks for all the powerplay time.)

Love,

The Pittsburgh Penguins

i have center ice, so i've been watching both NYR/MTL and TOR/NYI, and holy god, even though Lundqvist has made a few big saves, this has been one of the most pathetic displays of showing up for an important game i've ever wtinessed

unlees the Habs somehow mount a 3 goal comeback with 10 minutes left, man... gotta be incredibly disheartening for Montreal fans

but at least the Leafs are losing too, heh

I told Manics on MSN yesterday that both the Leafs and Habs would lose tonight. Scary thing is the Isles have Philly left and then a Devils team that will probably be resting everyone on the last day of the season...

Can the Leafs come back tonight?....hmmmm....

Did you not hear that the Habs sprout vaginas on the road and never wear any jocks?

i actually haven't seen too many habs games this year, whereas i've seen a bunch of leafs games, mainly just because i find the rivalries the leafs have to be more interesting to watch on tv (ie toronto/buffalo, toronto/philly, etc), plus i had tomas kaberle in my pool for a good long time

but there's no way tonight's game can be representative of montreal's overall road game, because they'd be worse than the flyers if it was

Check out post #174 in this topic...

If the Islanders win tonight's game (presuming the Habs and Leafs lose), that could make this whole 3-way race for 8th place very grim for the Leafs and the Habs.

Man, the Oilers really look like a team ready to roll over and die.
