Foreign Jackass said:Ok, where should we focus then? The incredible +0.0136 / game advance in the +- department that Colaicovo has over Komisarek? Or is it the 0.186 difference in point per game average (not even over a single full season in the NHL by Colaiacovo, by the way, despite being already 24 years old)? Yeah, every 5-6 games, Colaicovo will get a point more than Komisarek will.

Yeah, every 5-6 games, Colaicovo will get a point more than Komisarek will. With the number of games he's been playing each year, I'm really looking forward to see his big offensive totals in 10 years and how they compare to Komisarek's carreer. He will absolutely CRUSH him. Norris material, I'll say.

By the way you're not doing yourself any favours. Komisarek has 30 points in 218 games. If you project Colaiacovo's totals over 218 games he'd have 70 points. That's quite a bit of a difference.
Foreign Jackass said:We just proved that Komisarek has been hitting and blocking shots way more often than Colaiacovo. So how has he progressed faster? And he's just one year younger, by the way, so that's not quite a huge issue.

Manics said:Bouncing back from injury and putting up points. They're 2 different defensive styles. While Komisarek is a stay at home lug who'll get 10-20 points a year, Colaiacovo is more of a skater and will put up 40-50 points a year.
Foreign Jackass said:Komisarek is a stay at home D, a big guy playing defensively. Colaiacovo is not a defensive defenseman, and as far as offensive defensemen go, he's pretty average. 70 points over almost 3 FULL seasons is nothing to write home about, especially when he STILL HASN'T PLAYED 82 GAMES YET, over 4 years.
Manics said:Like I said, the rash of injuries makes it difficult to consistently put up numbers. Once he gets a stretch of games and seasons behind him his numbers will go up.

Who cares about Huet? Our future goaltender isn't Huet. Halak is currently better than he was before getting injured, and Price will come a bit later. Maybe Huet will never win more than 19-20 games, I don't give a damn, I never liked him anyway. If he does, great. If he doesn't, someone else will.Manics said:I see. So by your logic, Huet probably will never win more than 19-20 games a year. Plain facts baby.

Well yeah, he's still better than Raycroft, you're right.Kabuki Waq said:

Its like when the Canucks made it to the playoffs with Cloutier.....any other goalie and i truly believe they would have won the cup.
We're all rooting for them. The Internet said:And I'm serious, if the Oilers can win that game and help the Avalanche eliminate the Flames...I'd be more than satisfied with this terrible season all of us Oiler fans endured.
Can you guys wait until the Sharks game to clinch? Please? You already made Colorado suffer enough with that shutout win a few days back.TemplaerDude said:sorry, the avalanche's hopes die tomorrow.

Another 50 goal season is within reach, but at the same time and just as impressive, another 50 assist season is possible aswell.
All those points with little to no real help for most of his career, taking the team's rebuild in stride with a real winning attitude.
Still the King.
"He's the best hockey player in the National Hockey League by far," Burns said Wednesday while promoting a prostate cancer fundraiser.
"I saw a game in Tampa when he played against Crosby and he just put on a show. You could see Crosby thinking `I'm going to be good like that one day.' He's big, strong, he can skate, he can score and I'd say he's probably the best hockey player in the league.
"And him and Marty St. Louis are probably the best duo in the NHL.

proicehockey said:The Draft Lottery
The selection order in the first round is subject to a lottery, held among the teams that hold the top 14 picks.
The winning team moves up a maximum of four places in the draft order. The lottery is weighted to favor the teams with the fewest points. It was introduced to prevent a weak team from deliberately losing to guarantee itself a high draft pick.
