My next pick for a "reach" is Kenndal McArdle. If he slips to 25 I'll be very happy.
 
This is so brutal that Flames and Oilers (for example) are drafting at the ass end of the first round. With so many teams going off the board it shows that there is so much talent available that teams don't agree on who is even in the top 5, so a team picking in the top 15 could easily get a great talent that would go 6th or 7th most years.

But I doubt the draft depth will extend for another 14 picks. :P

He was one of my favourite players available in this draft outside the top 3 or 4. :( Stupid damn 26th pick.

EDIT: heh you had him high too huh dem. What really hurts is that a 2nd rounder from next year is all it took for the Panthers to move up to #20, and now I'm choked the Flames didn't do the same.

Now I'm scared that the Flames will take one of the many average d-men available like Lashoff or Scott Jackson or a smallish forward.

Shit, I wanted Latendresse. Matt Pelech looks to have upside (sigh) but what the fuck is up with all the big, strong defencemen? Sutter going to remove a winger and run 3 D in a few years? :P

They better be spinning some of these young defencemen off in crazy good trades for some wingers or a good offensive center or two. :P :P

I don't think Calgary picks again until the 3rd rounder they got for Commodore comes up. I'm pretty sure this second round pick is the one the Flames gave up for Kipper so I guess that worked out alright. Still wish they had another chance to placate me by picking up Latendresse. ;)

Oilers get a pick again at #36, so there will definitely be a few guys who could easily have gone in the first round available.

EDIT: I just realized why I like Latendresse so much - he reminds me of Eric Daze. Big guy, bad skater (granted Daze wasn't that bad a skater but a mediocre one when he was drafted), but awesome hands and can score. Right from the WJC I liked Daze a lot and thought that having a big strong guy with wicked moves and a pure snipers attitude is a great thing even if he isn't the best skater. Daze's skating sure improved even after he was drafted.

Assuming nhl.com isn't just making up shit. Why is it listed on the Oilers picks but not on the second round picks?
 
The more I think about it the more I think that the Habs went and got Price so the Sens or Leafs wouldn't get him. Don't reinforce your opponents and meanwhile you get a solid goalie prospect for yourself to trade later on or to replace your goalie. I dunno, I'm trying to justify the pick :(

At least we got Latendresse, it makes up for it.
 
I hope the Oilers take a good look at Ryder. He lines up with Reddox so I figure theyve had a real good look at him. Then again... I dont know if we need another center.
