If you don't want it, I'm willing to accept.
Huh?? That's the free Japanese DLC as well. Are you sure it's the Weapon Guard 2 skill bracelet?Desi said:It says A dream and a level 2 block bracelet.

And over the course of the game, Kaim uncovers various 'dreams', or short stories, that are written by award-winning Japanese novelist Kiyoshi Shigematsu, and translated by Jay Rubin, a Harvard professor who is better known for his translations of Haruki Murakami.

Had already beat 'said' games and looking forward to extending my money I spent on them by another 40 hours. I'm also hoping if I get into this (which if it is like old school FF I will) then maybe it will motivate me to give some time to Oblivion (which criminally sits in the bottom of my drawer like a lost treasure just waiting to be discovered). Got the last copy between 2 local gamestops as well..
I just don't know when i'm going to find time to play it!!!
Do you realize the shrinking speed of the ring depends on how deep you press the trigger (ie. it's analog)?Whipped Spartan said:Ok I am getting goods on the ring thing but perfects are few and far between. Any tips?

Dude, it's by the same team who did the Shadow Hearts series, you'll most likely love it.Mr. Hyde said:You guys are tempting me to buy this game. I haven't really enjoyed a jRPG since Shadow Hearts 2, and hearing Jay Rubin (I love Murakami) translated the stories has my interest really high.
Not that I know of.Whipped Spartan said:Yes, Is the timing differnt for differnt enemies?
What? That's just wrong.L0st Id3ntity said:Dude, it's by the same team who did the Shadow Hearts series, you'll most likely love it.
No it isn't.Durante said:What? That's just wrong.

Durante said:Personally I'm having a lot of success (around 30% perfect, I'm sure other people do even better) by consciously avoiding using the analog-ness. That is, fully depress the trigger before the character in question has his turn, and when the time comes instantly let go of it.
"Not all Nautilus staff made the transition to Feelplus, and there are some notable losses. The real time cutscene director Toshiyuki Terada and the creator of Shadow Hearts itself Matsuzo Machida are both missing in the transition."L0st Id3ntity said:

Also the whole designing and planning is done mostly by Mistwalker, and of course the music composition is completely different.
I think without these qualifications you give a very wrong impression of the game, as it's completely different from (especially the later 2) Shadow Hearts games. A lot more serious, and a lot more traditional in terms of gameplay.

Blimblim said:So, looks like I'm finally at something I always hate in a RPG. The time-attack event.
I love turn-based games because I can take all the time I want. I hate being rushed in a game, any type of game, and this is really annoying me. I failed once and just went back to the previous savegame to do some more side stuff. Hate hate hate.Disc 4, you have to fight 4 boss "at once" and prevent all of them to reach the city
Yeah I got how to do it after I failed, but I simply couldn't get myself to try again. I just hate this type of event.Sir Fragula said:Use sleep on the three you aren't fighting and then flee the battle. If one of them wakes and gets closer to the city, sleep the one you're fighting and attack the closer one. I beat that one on my first go, but damn... it was exhausting. Remember that the elements of each Arthrosaurus are different.
Hope that helps!
Just equip everyone with the anti-paralyzation skill and it's easily doable. But that's the only point in the game where I went Game Over so far (now at disc 3 ~middle I guess), so don't worry.Whipped Spartan said:The snake looking boss is owing me left and right I need to grind or buy something I guess

DMPrince said:For those that got it today and played, how's the loading?
Eric WK said:Nothing to be concerned about. It's absurd to think people have an issue with the load times.
I have been saying "it's not that bad" in various threads more often than I can remember for around a week now, but it's not absurd to have an issue with them. If you played recent games (like Eternal Sonata or Xenosaga 3) with instant battle start it's slightly annoying to go back to 10 second pans -- especially in a game with random battles.Eric WK said:Nothing to be concerned about. PepsimanVsJoe said:So I've played for a few hours:
Most of the load times seem to stem from stuff like loading cutscenes. For transitioning between areas and battles it's not that noticeable let alone annoying or "game-breaking" as some reviewers seem apt to point out. In regards to battles it goes something like this:
-Freaky battle transition thingie(y'know like those effects when you set off a random encounter in the FF games)
-Cuts to character who makes a random battle comment(like oh I don't know "blah blah here we go fight for justice blah blah" that sort of thing
-Camera pulls back to show party swinging weapons and looking prepared.
-Camera swings over to bring enemies into view
-Start issuing commands
I can't put down an exact number of seconds this sequence takes but believe me it isn't terrible. If you can tolerate the 900 other RPGs that do this you'll be fine. As a bonus levels come fairly quickly(at least until the area cap slaps down and you get like 1 or 2 exp a fight) and I had to do quite a bit of running in circles just to set off one random encounter.
The framerate chugs in a few areas but it's mostly while exploring, as long as it doesn't become an issue when timing ring attacks it should be fine. Otherwise graphically it looks...Eh? Eh is a good summary of it so far.
Soundtrack is of course great and what little I've played so far has been pretty keen.
For some odd reason I also got the "Three Perfects in a row" achievement even though I'm damn sure it was mostly two goods and one perfect...but hey no complaints here.
Oh and what the hell is up with RPG characters always kicking objects of interest to find items? Somebody update that RPG cliche list already.
