Also if you have the gamble spell that could make up for mack lacking in power, especially since it doesn't seem to depend on level.

Whats a good level for the last dungeon/boss? I've been leveling up in the Temple of Enlightenment for the past few hours and am getting tired of it now. Most of my characters are in the late 50's and my lowest being Cooke at 54. Are those good enough levels?

Wont work once the thing casts reflect. If you are under leveled use your items. You should have a few power drinks, grounda/groundus and flara/flarus bombs that you can use to take that bitch down.

So, I was just reminded on why video games are great. So I try it again. I am close, thinking carefully on how to time my attacks... and finally I lose. Great. I decided to just give this one, final try. I was playing mindlessly. Finally he did Reflect. Jansen died and Mack too. I was mad so I hit Attack with Ming and Cooke. They did 1HP damage each. The monster attacks with Frozen Bite and now Ming and Cooke are both at 1 FUCKING HIT POINT. I see I have some bombs left... Ground and Aquara. So I used them. Ground did 96, and Aquara 286. Then I see everything blurry and the monster falls. My jaw dropped to the ground. I love games :D

Thats why I said to make sure he doesn't cast once reflect is cast.

I can't level up Mack because when you get him back you are sent to the fight automatically. Quick question... can I go back to the "remains" and buy more bombs there? Also I am not sure if any of my characters have Dispel =S

That´s....bad news then, sorry. Really bad timing to have Mack so underleveled.

Try Mack using the Barrier skill then to keep GC up and grounda untill the boss casts Reflect, then bombs as they have already told you.

They should have made another viable route to finish the boss and not having to rely so much on mack only.

edity: Ops, congrats you finally did it. xD

Wow, things just got very interesting.

Just found out Kaim is the grandfather of Cooke and Mack. Funny thing is, the cutscene where they met, once you see them staring at each other, I had a feeling they were related somehow. I like where this is going. Of course, it seems like Gongora has something to do with all this. He was shady the minute he was first shown.

Just reached the final dungeon (
as in: the 'second' Grand Staff
), but even after one battle with random monsters my party received a solid beating.

What's a good place to gain experience? My party's currently at lvl 45 - 47.

I think I'm about lvl 18, and I'm in Numara right now, but where the hell can I buy weapons???

There´s a shop in one of the canals/street (near where you get a dream when looking at a pair close to a boat/gondola).

Also you can get a pass in the "Art Gallery/museum" to access the private/vip section of the shop.

Yes there's an item shop but I haven't seen a weapons shop anywhere..also can someone really explain how all the skill stuff works? I've got all the skills so far maxed out but I feel like I'm really missing out on other stuff, do you have to delete certain skills so you can learn new ones for immortals?

Now I'm off to try and defeat those 2 guys on horses and 3 soldiers again :\ what's a good tactic for those guys ?

Can´t remember specific weapons shops right now but you´ll get to some eventually.

About skills, mortals have them always active and get them by leveling up automatically.

Inmortals need to link each wanted skill to the mortal that has it and they learn them by gaining XP through the battles (you need both characters in the active party but dont need to use the skill ).

Once the inmortal learns the skill it goes to his/her own skills pool and you can assign it to a skill slot for it to be active/usable.

To get more skill slots for each inmortal you need to use Slot Seeds.

So I just got to Ghotza, and I have a question that has been bugging me about Cooke.

I have her currently at level 32, and when I check her skills list, she has:

Casting Support
Concentrate
Prayer

Then a bunch of others, which I cant remember the names... but my issue is when I am in a battle and I have Cooke in my party, and I go to use one of the other skills she has, other than the 3 I listed above, they are not in her skill list. I can only pick from the 3 I listed above. I dont know whats going on. I have them set as skills, it tells me that she has learned the new skill, but I cant use them....

Anyone else having this issue?? It makes it hard when you need to use one of those skills and you cant select it.

Like what though? Are they "always-on' skills?

I can't think of any for Cooke, but 'Counter' for the melee characters is an example of an always-on skill.

The 3 I listed are the always on skills, like Jensen has Steal...

I am annoyed I cant remember the other skill names, but they are all set in her active skill sets

Also, is there anyway to take back a slot seed from a character and give it to another one?

I don't believe so. You have to collect them all. Which is a pain because it appears they do a Final Fantasy 8 on us, where some of the slot seeds are obtained through bosses.

So, I just finished the main storyline.

End-game spoilers:
Why the hell did they have to 'kill off' Seth? That was totally unneccessary, especially because she was one of the game's better characters. :<

The entire final scene in the Tower of Mirrors was also very drawn out and filled with cheap suspence. The 'shadow bubble of death' plot point after the final fight was pretty laughable due to its sheer randomness and the game could've done without that, but instead the developers sadly opted to stretch that particular segment of the game out for as long as they could. I also hoped that Kaim would've stabbed Gongora while he was on the floor, thus effectively killing him once and for all. At least I think he could've been killed for real at that point, since Gongora did say something that immortals are vulnerable in the area they were in.

Either way, it's bullshit they had to 'cut' one of Lost Odyssey's best main characters in such a stupid way and the ending should've been shorter. Oh, and the 'evil Jansen puppet thing' right before that was pretty silly too.

The skills with green icons are 'passive' skills, while the skills with red icons are the kind you can activate mid-battle (like Jansen's Steal). The green skills basically just improve the abilities of your characters like higher offense, higher defense, immunity to certain status ailments, better Black / White magic, ... There are also other quirks, like being able to read the amount of health, status et cetera of your enemies for instance.

I hope I've written that clear enough for you.

Yes.

Is there anything more goddamn annoying than
splitting your party up
? Better yet, is there anything more annoying than
splitting your party up into three different groups
? I can't fucking stand that shit in games.

Y'all led me to believe disc 3 rules. Its been a massive disappointment so far because of what's outlined above.

I'm on the last disk, trying to get most of the achievements.. and I'm wondering if it is possible to screw up and end up not being able to get the "all chests" and or "all skills" achievements.

I learned all the skills from my mortal characters, so now there are just skills left gained from items. I guess I'll go to every store in the game and see if I missed anything..

I also went to the auction house and (I think) I got all the chests, because they said they had nothing left to sell. Yet I don't have the all-chests achievement. Is this because they're not selling everything, or is it because there are chests in the final dungeon that I have yet to find?

It's only annoying when
your characters aren't leveled up properly. I had no trouble with that part the game (and other similar parts later on), other than the Kaim + Sarah moments on disc 3 because I hardly used her.

Beat the game this morning. It was good fun overall, and the best JRPG on 360 by far. I guess I'll be waiting for Last Remnant now.

The AH only sells chests from areas that you cant revisit. If theres a chest in some place that you can go back to then you gotta find it yourself.

I'm 99.9999% sure anyway.

The AH will not have the items from chests and pots and stuff from areas you can revisit. you have to find them on your own.
You have to make sure you have all the accessories to get the all skill achievement. Finishing the backyard gets you an accessory plus you get an accessory for having all the seeds as well.

I have every achievement except the all treasure one. I don't think I have the patience for that one.

I beat the game last night after finishing all the side stuff and to be honest I thought
a lot of the final moments were anti-climatic and just plain. I really dislike it for one when a villain gets away scott free like that, not knowing for sure if he's dead or just dealt with properly. I think about the only part at the end that I didn't feel unsatisfied with was the wedding. Just because it was nice to see the characters all dressed up, though I still don't see the point in ming marrying Jansen. I think it mentioned in one of the short stories she stayed away from relationships because of the pain of out living lover etc. My hopes for a sequel would be to take things to the land the immortals come from. Or if not just start a whole new thing, because I don't think I was inerested in seeing any of the characters more past this game. Seth was great but they took her out and sed's not that great without seth to bounce off of. Actually thinking about it I would like to see cooke and Mack grow up.

I suppose in all I just feel a lot of the effort wasn't worth it really, think i'd have rathered watch a collection of the cutscenes. In my opinion it all kind of fell apart a lot at the end. Though i'm i'm glad I finally finished it though, it's not a bad game by any means just the ending...

Use sleep on the three you aren't fighting and then flee the battle. If one of them wakes and gets closer to the city, sleep the one you're fighting and attack the closer one. I beat that one on my first go, but damn... it was exhausting. Remember that the elements of each Arthrosaurus are different.

Hope that helps!

Good lord....DISC FOUR SPOILER
Even after watching the tutorial I didn't realise the sleep spell would still be effective after fleeing...WHat level should I be when I fight the four Arthosaurus? My characters are all around lvl 40-42

Why don't you people use Cover / Covera / Coverus spell? You take zero damage when active. Boost it with All-Shield & All-Barricade spells. Just keep on recasting it if you are taking damage again. Makes the game easy.

Your friend isn't lying. In fact: you're relatively close to that particular fight (not to mention a tough dungeon, considering who you've got right now).

I suggest making sure that Mack has at least the same level as the rest of your current party.

Shit. Stupid design, meh. So, at least I can "grind" in the upcoming dungeon right?

By the way...... just for it... can I buy bombs in the camp? What type works better with that boss? If I can do 3K damage in one pass it would make life easier :lol

Yes, you can 'grind'.

But magic won't work against the upcoming boss, so I doubt bombs would damage it either. All magic attacks will just bounce back to you, making Mack your only viable option during that fight.

I finished the game a couple of weeks ago with 980/1000 points

I have had at least 3 nightmares about the Treasure Trove achievement since then :x

Im going to have to go back and get that achievement, I dont care how long it takes

I thought that fight was pretty easy. You just need to buff your party well and throw Mack a powerus. He's a decent damage-dealer if set up correctly.

I think my staff users kicked a bit of butt in that fight too, just equipped them with appropraite rings and they dealt a decent amount of damage

Haven't played anything yet... but I am fairly sure they can do damage.
I remember the Living Ice boss on the tracks, which gave me HELL
. Even after it casted reflect the bombs would still affect him. Will buy a bunch of bombs and grind too, see if they work.

Relix, please learn to use spoilers. I hate finding out stuff because people accidentally say it in a thread. Thanks :D

Anyhow, Jansen is officially worse than Jar Jar Binks. Lol.

Otherwise, this game rules.

is the dlc on the jpn marketplace ever coming out over here?? does the dlc work for the na versions of the game (i know the free dlc did)? if so, can i buy jpn point cards and add them to my jpn account and it'll work?

You can download the free jpn content and use it in your other accounts. I think they just were a new dream and some accesories/skills.

I don´t know about the new non-free content in the jpn marketplace.

I whore them like there's no tomorrow! =P

I'm still confused about Divide and Leveller. Well, Divide just divides the Caster's HP against number of enemies and deals that as damage. Leveller....well I've no idea what that does.

And finally, there's a few spells I am missing that I need to get my Spell achievement - Reflect is one of them and some of the Level 3 Black Magic spells are missing too - are they in the final dungeon?
