As long as it's not permanent then I can go on about business as usual. I'm just excited that I can finally get credit for the insane grinding and skill whoring I like to do.

At least where I'm at the game is really showing how much of an ass this guy is and its great!keeps lulling Tolten into a false sense of security, making him think he's killed the chairman, and making him feel like everyones out to get him
slasher_thrasher21 said:Anybody else use that little beach area (accessible near begining of disc 2) to level their characters up harcore? I did.
All thats there to fight is the silver guys that flee all the time and those huge beach creatures. If you can kill one of them though, you level up one level everytime. You can do this till your characters reach level 49.![]()
Orodreth said:I tried twice before reaching Tosca village and left it for later as it was impossible to stand 2 huge attacks from those bastards ( poison seemed to be a good strategy but i was underleveled anyway i suposse)
slasher_thrasher21 said:Well look I was level 22 when I started it. Make sure you have your immortals learn level 2 spirit magic. This enables them to cast GAMBLE. This is by far one of the best spells in the game at this point and a few of us even think it might be broken. It seems to do in the upwards of 1000 damage when it hits good but the thing is, it hits good often. If you don't have gamble, get it from the little girl in the Tosca village. The one with the statue mini game. You have to find all the statues. (its not to hard)
Also make sure you can cast seal. You will want to seal the bigger creatures so they don't do any magic. The ground pound is the worst but you should be able to have some characters survive. I had Kaim, Seth in the front, Ming, Mack, and Janseen in the back. Everyone casted Gamble (this works well on the silver guys too if they don't flee and you get 8 sp for one kill and level up as well) and Jansen needs to cast Seal and then Poison.
I got to level 40 with Kaim ( the other were in the high 30's) and then decided to continue in the story but my friend said it will let you get to 49 and then the level cap kicks in.
I posted a video on my you tube about it. Should be the first main video (sorry I can't link the video url, I'm blocked at work.) www.youtube.com/slasherthrasher
yukoner said:These guys are really easy if equip water resistance for Kaim/Seth, then cast Barricadus on Seth & Kaim in the front row, and then Cover one of them. His Agaurius attack only does like 200-300 to the first row, and <200 to the back.

Pheidias said:I don't get why you would wanna grind in the middle of the game. Its easy enough as it is if you grind that early, the little fun fighting was will disappear. The level caps are there for your enjoyment.
siamesedreamer said:Just beat disc 1. Clocked in at 15:07.
I like how in the last disc 1 boss fight they don't. :lolwarn you not to wail away on Mack before you input your commands. I ended up slaughtering that little shit
Pheidias said:I know grinding is part of a RPG. I just don't see the point of doing as early into a game and absolutely not to that extent. Hell you aren't even at lvl 40 at the start of disc 4.
And farming sp before you get the double sp skill is just plain stupid. Also I'm starting to seriously hate the load times into battle they are always around 15-20s and if you are just doing the sidequests with a higher level team it gets annoying really fast. And Griding is a bitch as well.(if you do a not so accurate load time estimate I have now seen the loading screen for over 4hours and that is only for battles. . . )
Anyone have a tip on how to kill the manny fever one in backyard, they say use fire. But even if I do and get 6+ succesful coin tosses I still can't get the front desk guy to enjoy it
Oh and how many hidden treasure chests are there that you need the Sunderch Glasses for?
Himuro said:I haven't grinded in an rpg in years.
Pheidias said:Ok, might be uncalled for to call someone stupid. But it sure ain't the best way to farm sp. Since it will take you double the time.
Also to actually say that just because someone chooses to do something it can't be stupid is ...well....just wrong..
Himuro said:I can tend to beat rpgs at like level 30-40. It's funny how people say an rpg is a grinder when it's really they themselves who grind. The games don't force them, they're just too lazy/dimwitted to actually strategize instead of mowing down enemies through brute force.
Grinding sucks. I hate it aside from a few games where it's hilarious to be a powerhouse (FFVII and FFVIII). No rpg has forced me to grind.
Pheidias said:LO is pretty sweet in the way the handle exp. You actually won't ever need to grind even if you wanna do all the side quests since you will actually always level up one entire level as long as you don't reach the dungeon cap.
Only grinding you need to do is for the achievements.
Himuro said:About the boss in the Uhra Sewers
What if you DON'T kill it with the crane?
Does anything special happen?
Ok...how do you actuallyTakuhi said:If you don't, you get its Crystal Fragment accessory at the end of the fight (which you can also steal before killing it with the crane). It's really good.
chico said:anyone already on disc 4? need help...after defeating gongoras sorcerers at the great staff, where to go next? Gongorra leaves the sea of baus with the staff, im right now at the temple of enlightement, but i dont know if im at the right location and the temple is really annoying... i hate mazes
already spent 60 hours playing this wonderful game, but right now i really want to see the end, so i can finally play dmc4!![]()

Pheidias said:The item on the Japanese marketplace is a accessory called Master's secret script. And gives you weapon guard 2 (100sp), which in essential guards half of all attacks, making the game a peace of cake.
Cool...yeah I pounded him...he barely hurt me, but was also the coolest enemy encounter yet...the events leading up to it make me wonder how they will follow up such badasseryTakuhi said:But it dies in an event scene so you never get the end-of-battle EXP/SP/Items. Looks cool, but if you can beat him straight, that's the way to go!You can target a crane with ranged attacks and if you hit it enough it will drop explosives on the boss and kill him instantly.
Takuhi said:The final area is in a lake that you can get to with the Nautilus by diving underwater and unneling to it. You'll come at it from the large body of water in the center of the map, on the northern coast. If you aren't sure, fly around until you spot the tower on the world map.
the final battle awaits you there. The Temple of Enlightenment is entirely optional (and much harder than anything you'll actually face in the finale).
bran said:What the fuck my entire party got petrified all at once and GAME OVER??? Apparently no check point for the last hour and half......
siamesedreamer said:Gongora is easily the weakest link in the game for me. I would go as far as to say he's cringe-worthy.
3rdman said:I'm still on disk 1 and I just did the funeral thing...I'm clocked at 11 hours and 15 minutes! I'm not even done with the disk yet...Wow!
By the way, I don't understand the hate the funeral scene got...Its not many games that would ask the player to "participate" in the funeral of one of its characters and for that, it deserves to be praised. Whether or not it succeeded in including the players emotionally is up for debate but its much better than simply having them die, view cutscene, finish dungeon, and move on. I found it to be pretty damn emotional and surprised myself at how it made me feel...games can be emotional and that alone is a bit of a revelation.

slasher_thrasher21 said:Well thats good to know too. I had no issue without knowing that though since I just always sealed his ass. And it works all the time. I've never had it miss, matter of fact, I never saw his aqua attack :lol and like someone said above, poison works wonders!
Foxix said:I totally agree with this, I gotta say I'm actually a little glad they did the funeral the way they did. Had they not it would have just been an ungodly long series of cutscenes. Even if it wasn't much, I am glad they did that section the way they did if only to give the viewer some breathing room.
I had no problem finding the items... hell they were all in really obvious spots and all brightly colored so they made them super easy to find. The mini game felt like gitaroo man mixed with mech hacking & mass effect decoding lol (ok so thats maybe a little bit of a stretch)
But really though that was no where near as bad people made it out to be.
Bourbon Cowboy said:Oh wow, I didn't know there was some disdain directed toward the funeral scene. I was blown away.
The only thing that got me was I too stupid to check upstairs for a save orb and ended up having to go through the whole thing like at 1:00am on a work night.
Orodreth said:I tried Seal once i think but the earthquake was finisheing my party or leaving them very weak and unable to stand any more simmilar attacks.
Anyway, i got the chest in that island and moved on. As you all have already said, theres no need for now to grind so i´ll just move on and leave that for later when you have the chance to pay visit to the optional bosses and sidequests.
.
slasher_thrasher21 said:Just curious what level you were? I was level 22 when I started it. I had a hard time at first but for the most part was surviving with at least a few people alive. Which would in turn boost them up and then enable them to take more damage. Also made sure everyone was in the back besides Kaim and Seth.
Orodreth said:I think my party was 22 too and i could take maybe about half the life of the creature using poison and other attacks but with two rounds of earthquake i was finished. And i got gamble but havent used it yet .

Did you move the pillar in the past mansion?tokkun said:Halp! I am stuck in the Sorceress' Mansion in Disc 2.I have collected the wheat and bow emblems to be used in the courtyard and I have poem fragments A, B, and C. I followed the ghost girl through the mirrors to open up the Past Mansion and set the clock to unlock the doors. It seems I'm still missing one of the emblems for the courtyard, but I can't find anything else left to do.
