Well, you roll it the direction you came from and on to the pad you dropped down from, the pad notices something is on it so it rises up bringing another pad down to that adjacent hole, on the new pad is a small fragment of some kind of spirit mage tablet.
I had that problem after about 5 minutes in The Highlands of Wohl (the beginning of the game) but then it stopped after I reset my 360. I originally thought my TV was going bad, but it hasn't done that ever since then.
No shit. First boss I actually killed on the first try. Kill it with fire!
Ahem. Anywho. I really like this rpg. It's a first in a long time of rpg charcaters that I really care about. Mack and Cooke are my favorites by far. I'm about half way into disc 2. Japser really does crack me up to.
Edit: Favorite part of the game so far is the "escape" on disc 2. Very well excuted all around. The music especially sets the mood.

Yeah, I love the characters in this game also. Jansen makes me crack up with all of his one-liners. I really think he is one of the most genuinely funny comical relief characters to show up in a long time.
I shouldn't keep him around for the skills he has yet to learn? Only reason he's still in my party is that Kaim and Seth are still linking a skill off of him.

I'm really loving this game, don't understand the scores in the 80's, this with my 11 hour playtime should be 90+ the game is fun, challenging, and has great humor. I hope they make a second one soon.
I just got him too and he has by far some of the greatest skills, he also does great physical damage from the back row. He may end up being in my fave five
fuck this game has so many characters I like and want to use in my party. This game would benefit so much from a FFX style party switch system. When I get my full party again I don't know who I'm going to make my main party as this is gonna be tough.
I'm amazed at how much I'm enjoying this game. Music is great, graphics are fine, combat is fun, story is good (becomes amazing when you figure in the 1000 Year Dreams). I'm having a hard time figuring out why the game was reviewed so poorly by some sites. Slap a Square-Enix label on this baby and it surely would have scored a point higher on some of these reviews.
Despite a few cheese-ball moments and some ridiculous costume designs, this is one of the most enjoyable JRPGs I've played since FFVII.
I am really getting fucking annoyed (Disc 2 Spoilers)
at that fucking black cave bull shit. I'm (hopefully) right at the end and I was fighting those walking green things. I beat a couple of them then they show me a red one on the map. I run towards him and all of a sudden get in a random battle even though they have green dudes on the map running around?! I had absolutely no health, and then when I beat those 4 green monsters in that first battle, i press "Y" as quickly as possible... but it's not quick enough. I end up in battle with the red boss bitch with no health or MP and i get raped. So i gotta do the whole thing over...
. Those are the types of moments that piss me off.
Are you talking about the treasure trove achievement? If so then it should only include rings that you would have been able to find in treasure chests in the field. And of course anything you missed can be bought at the auction house.
The only one's I know of are the "All Spells" achievement and the "Treasure Trove" one. All spells is exactly what it sounds like, and treasure trove is awarded for opening all treasure chests in every map of the game. Anything you missed (particularly in areas you can never return to) are available at the auction house.
Hmm . . . I have a question about an item that the
Magic Beast
boss drops at the end of disc three.
There were two options to kill the boss: The first option was the normal way of just attacking it with normal attacks, spells, skills, etc. The second way, however, allows you to attack a crane that will automatically defeat the boss by dropping explosives onto it. By choosing the latter option, the game will skip the usual end-of-battle screen and just go straight to a cinematic without rewarding you experience points and an item -- a crystal fragment accessory.
I chose the
crane
option without knowing that I would be skipping a valuable accessory item. I'm aware of being able to steal the item from the monster. Also, I understand that I could have just chose the first option, but I saved over the file a couple hours into disc four.
Can this accessory be found anywhere else in the game without restarting it? Also note that I checked the auction house and it wasn't there (because it was a drop item obviously).
They are 2 different ones. One achievement is for collecting every spell in the game. Then there are the character skill achievements where you need to teach the immortals every skill in the game, and have the other characters lvl to 52 to learn all of their skills.

As far as I know that item is only available through that boss and doesn't show up later on in the game in any shops. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.
Can I go back to the Uhra Sewers later in the game? I've been trying to get Thief Key Ring for the past hour so I can make this damn Ace Key Ring, but this guy won't drop it. I just want to press on and continue the game at this point.

You can get the Crystal Fragment again in the very last storyline dungeon. Not much time to use it that way, though... It's a shame, because it's amazing. Free MP for everyone forever.
Yeah, exactly what I said when I got there last night. In the context of the game, it was the first moment where the in-game cutscenes and non-Jay Rubins dialogue actually approached the quality of the thousand year dreams short stories and... yeah, wow. Can a videogame make you cry? Well, yes, even if it's just misty-eyed.
I finished disc 1 tonight and loved the end. There's just something super precious about this game and its characters. I don't want it to end, and I got a little sad that I'm now 1/4 of the way through LO.

When the heck or rather where the heck did Kiam get those silly glasses?
Che, you're absolutely right about the story (so far) Misty eyes and all. Aside from all the loading that takes place, this is by far the most enjoyable RPG I've played to date. The pacing is just right, thought remind me not to put my family through a funeral fetch quest:lol
Going by a lot of the posts people seem to think the game is good because the 1000 year-stories. How does the game stand on it's own? I don't want to read a book.
