look at those models and hearing about the new patch, i want to play this game again lol. How is the online going these days? does voice chat work now?

I did the downloads through the PS3. I have downloaded way bigger mods this way allot faster from that other site.
The spawn mod took about 20 minutes, the others were 5-7 minutes.

If you download to the memory stick, it will bring the speed of download down lot because of low write speed.
It would be idea to use the external HDD won't slow down any much.

:S That's around 20KB/s, that is pretty slow.

Wow. I wasn't expecting Epic to come through but here it is. This Patch fixes almost everything. We only need three things now. Multiple mod imports, redirect auto-dl and cross platform play.

I've been out of UT3 and gaming in general because it's mountain biking season, but I'll be playing more often now.

the only thing ill add onto ur list of fixes is splitscreen, they said they would do it if there was demand and i think that would really lengthen the replay value of this game. Mod support is awesome, but being able to play all the cool mods with your friends (none of my friends have ut3, and only one has a ps3).

ok I got it working. Man the mods work really good. Can't wait for solid snake.
its really messed up that master chief the xbox mascot looks waaaaayy better on ps3 then he does on the 369!!!!!!!

OK, I picked this game up last night. With no sign of a 360 version and a newly reinvigorated PS3 community (mods, new patch), I jumped in.

Really digging the game. I didn't realize how much I missed "twitch" shooters, especially good old UT.

Even after the update, I ran into a game crash and a couple of bluetooth dropouts though in my three hours of play--that was disappointing.

But online was fun. I actually ranked up near the top several times which is something that rarely happens in, say, Halo.

I look forward to trying out some mods and playing with you guys.

I put all the mods on there and renamed them accordingly, to find out it doesnt work, so this USERDATA.JAM is only usable? So if you download a mod via your ps3 you have to quit browser, open game, install mod, quit, open browser, download mod again and again?

That is extremely lame. But im enjoying the game so i guess i can live with it.

I hate using my ps3 to download the mods.. unless I only need one. Its better just to use usb ports. You can easily use a thumb drive and just switch from your pc while you keep the game running. You can also use the memory cards if your ps3/pc has them. An in-game web browser would fix this but I highly doubt epic would do that.

I've done it 51 times now. The mods are just to good to resist.

They changed it.. it does look at the root. You just cant have more then 1 at a time because they are all have the same name. It would fix it if they gave you the option to look into folders. That way you can download each file into different folders then just import by clicking on the folders.

I know alot of people like the "over the shoulder" view but I agree, I like the camera a bit further back.

i know that it looks in the root now, but i'm just saying i don't get why it has to have a specific name and location rather than just find every file with the right file extension and import them all in one sweep.

If you have a PC you can skip the "quit game / boot game" part. Just download them to the root of the memory stick, no folders. But yeah, you have to import 1 by 1.


Btw, some new mods were just cooked for PS3, I'll try to put them on my website ASAP.

Heads up! That model isn't compatible with the Cloud model apparently, or maybe it was just a glitch on my system.

Anyone tried it yet?

I haven't tried it but I heard it has glitches. It'll probably be fixed in a week or two ... but I'll try it tonight and let you know if I get the same problems. What did you encounter? I've tried Halo 2 model as well as Marcus. Both play and look very good!

Thats a known bug, it should appear correctly on the second round.
